I performed a full service on my RV Cummins Onan 4000 Generator. I changed the Oil, Air Filter, Spark Plug, and Fuel Filter.

Question unrelated to the service. My rig is a 2016 Jayco Greyhawk 31FS. While inspecting the Cummins Onan 4000 generator I found 2 orange wires not connected/capped to the harness. My hours meter has not been working and I'm wondering if this is the reason. I pulled a wire diagram that showed it just may be an extra wire and not for hours meter. So not sure. I would have connected them and tried myself but did not have a wire stripper with me.

I recently purchased my first RV and trying to make sure it had been maintained and have got to generator. I have the Cummins Onan 4000. Don’t wanna sound dumb but every one I watch mentions the oil filter but never illustrates it. My question is does it have one and if so where is it.

No oil filter but it does have an Air filter that should be changed when doing the oil. Also has fuel filter but that doesn’t need to be changed as often.

Nice video. Oil drain plug torque is 21 foot pounds per the manual.

YEAH ! you sure skipped over what a bitch that spark plug is to get out ! ! there is no room to maneuver there to get the plug out OR put it back in. So the place where some tip or advice would be REALLY helpful is just skipped right over

Sorry I didn’t have to bad of an issue with it. I’m used to working on small engines and spark plugs. Maybe I just didn’t consider it that difficult.
