Nomadic Fanatic was recently at Pour Brothers and loved the "self-service" system! Also, try wash'n wax by aero systems. Cheaper than Mcguire's and super effective.

Glad to see I'm not the only one having issues on a trip. The last one I took was the trip from He**. I drove 5-1/2 hours to visit an old school friend. I told her I needed her exact address, all she had told me was MT. Airy NC. I get to the campground, go to get up and tripped over the power cord on my laptop and it fell on the ground and broke in half so I could not get her address, her phone # was also in the laptop. My campsite got flooded out in a bad storm. I woke up and my lower jaw was infected, the hot wire on the trailer had came loose so I lost every thing in the fridge, the next morning my coffee make would not turn on, on the way home I lost compression in one cylinder so I had to replace the whole engine. I have not dared to leave the house since. :)

Last year I lost a battery flat towing my Honda Pilot. So I just disconnect the Positive cable off the battery once I have the car ready to go.

Thanks Tim. We have a 12 volt hot line that runs from the coach to the Jeep. That way the Jeep doesn’t use battery to power the running lights.

Good episode. Glad to see you were charged reasonably for the wiring repairs. Now, for the lesson learned.....what do you suspect was done wrong during the jump start, or what would you have done if you had to do it again? Thumbs up!! (here in the Pacific Northwest that would have been a $65 to $80 crossing)

Hi Larry. The fusible link was corroded and weak. The jump put it over the edge.

Carry a battery charger with you and use your generator to power it in the case your not plugged in. In the case of no generator get a generator. Never jump a vehicle that has computer systems in it. Seagull target practice they usually wait till you wash it. Glad to see you got everything taken care of. My wife and I are now on the road full time In a class a coach currently in the Florida keys for the next month then north along I 95 to Kennebunkport Maine. Safe travels and more exciting adventures 👍🍺🇺🇸

Hi Ben! We do have a battery charger, but the battery was so low it would have taken a while to recharge. Normally I would have used our lithium battery bank to jump start the Jeep, but the jumper cables would reach. Safe travels!

Your correct a fully discharged battery will only come back low amp and 8 to 10 hours of time.The issue you had I’ve seen hundreds of times. I owned an auto and truck repair center for 30 years in California. If you ever have a question I would be happy to help you folks any way I can.👍🇺🇸

Thanks Ben! Might have to bend your ear about a vibration in our coach. Ford F53 chassis is notorious for the problem. Just replaced Goodyear G670 RV tires with new Hankook A35 tires installed and have had them balanced and rebalanced by 5 different shops. Each time they balanced differently. The vibration remains. Nothing like these mobile mechanics that throw parts at something until it’s fixed or you give up on them also may want to get a jump pack and keep it in your vehicle so you can have power source on board

Yeah, we were kind of bummed. Not sure having a jump pack would have changed the outcome. Suspect the fusible link was weak and ready to go anyway.

We are in Galveston now. Did the Ferry two days ago and drove to Crystal Beach and had ice cream! Did the overlook on the Ferry and saw several dolphins. Flying back to MT tomorrow. Safe travels!

The mechanic experience regarding your Jeep puzzles me. The mobile mechanic failed to do any diagnostic it seems and the shop fried your new alternator. It's odd that Chrysler/Jeep would hide the fuse link requiring all the work on the drive shaft and chassis to be able to replace it. Really odd.

Yeah, I kind of new that the mobile guy could only do so much, but we were in a pinch. Hoping against hope. I confirmed that the OEM harness has the fusible link at the starter connection. Odd for sure. At least Now I now that the front drive shaft and transaxle crossmember needs to come out if the starter ever fails. Silver lining I guess.

I've been on that ferry many times and always enjoyed it. But the one from Long Island to NYC .... OMG ... I was told I was an ugly shade of green when I drove off that one! LOL I thought it was SO COOL that you guys ran into Brian and Michelle at LivinRVision! How cool is that?!? I need to find more youtubers like the four of you!

The waters at the ship's stern gets upset causing fish that the ship skims over to surface or be forced to the surface making the fish easier to catch.

When the Jeep was jumped was negative to the frame? Putting the dead vehicles negative on the frame avoids starting through the alternator circuit.

Yeah, I always make sure to connect the negative lead to a chassis ground lug. Sometimes fusible links melt due to corrosion. I'm guessing it was on the verge of failure and the jump start pushed it over the edge. Why Chrysler designed it to be so inaccessible is baffling.

Hi. Sorry to hear about these frustrations 😟😞. Could you get a car trailer/dolly and put the jeep on it for travels? You are not the only ones to have difficulty with a vehicle that they are towing (pulling). Other rv vlogs/RU-vidrs we subscribe to are also suffering through this issue.

Hi Rusty Katt! The recent issue with our Jeep had nothing to do with towing it. We’ve towed it for more than 30,000 miles and have only had 1 issue related to towing. Everyone we know has gone away from using a dolly as they are simply too cumbersome. Thanks for tuning in!

Ferries free of charge! Not in Washington State. You should come north and island hop a bit up here. I believe that Washington runs the largest ferry system in the U.S. and the ferry rides are always an experience, especially for a tourist. You can get lunch and a beer on board.

Gal-bolivar ferry- can take up to 3 hours-medical passes override- you were lucky...hopefully trip back was good-

Hello... please check "motorhome dot com" regarding vehicles that can be towed. We just checked, and we could not see Jeep Grand Cherokees being on the list as being able to be flat towed on the ground. Trailer Life- good to check that, as well.

Ours is a 2005 with Quadra-Drive 2 transaxle and can definitely be flat towed.

We've stayed at San Luis Pass Park a few years ago, looks like they changed it up. We go on the ferry all the time with cars, but not our RV. Glad it was a good trip. We live near Beaumont, its fun to see people come so close to our home. We enjoy your videos so much!
