Seems lately a few screws are coming loose in our RV. Here's my quick fix. If you have a better idea, please comment below, I'd like to hear how others fix this.
For screws that are going into the wall as opposed to the metal trim, I like to take a wooden toothpick or 2, snap them in halves or in fourths (depending on the size of the hole), add Elmers wood glue in the hole push the toothpick pieces into the hole. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly. Then you can add the screw and it will hold better because you've given it more wood to anchor it in place. I don't use a permanent glue in case you ever need to remove that screw for any reason. Hope this helps. Robert
@Our Someday I need your help I don't even own a RV but you are the only man I found on RU-vid who has Intelligence I know that wasn't so polite for others but I have a patio screen door I believe it's aluminum I put an extra lock on and the holes are too big and the screws keep falling out I cannot get my fingers behind it because it's Hollow behind where the screws go I've tried the toothpicks they fall in between the frame because it's Hollow do you think this will work and please don't ask me to redrill holes because the whole back door has holes everywhere I'm doing my best any advice
Do you have any suggestions on how to remove rusty corner trim screws? I just purchased a 1999 Fleetwood Tioga and one of the corner trim pieces needs to be replaced. There are several screws that have the heads sheered off and several others that won't budge under "normal" screw removal techniques (I typically use my clutched drill with appropriate sized bit after a good dowsing of PB Blast). Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.
I have to figure out something to pull my awning rail back to the RV where it's pulled away. We have a FB group called "Camping RU-vid Community Support" for camping/adventure channels. Feel free to come over and share your content!
