We upgraded our mattress after the first night in the rig. We bought a Zinus 12” hybrid mattress and a 3” cooling gel topper. We are just as comfortable in our rig now as we are at home. We had to upgrade the lift cylinders under the bed to handle the extra weight.
One of the reasons we chose this trailer was because it had the room to extend the bed. Leg room is a must, and these are not built with tall people in mind!
@@LivingaLifeFulfilled Same here. When I saw how much space there was, I thought for sure we could get a full size queen. Great trailer so far, but hate having my feet hang off end. Also, gotta do the shower head replacement you did in the other video.
This is more on the firm side, so it's great for my back. But at the same time it's foam, so conforms to you and feels soft at the same time. Great combo in my opinion!
Some Amazon reviews say that the mattress cover thing is lined with fiberglass. And if you ever want to clean it, the fiber glass will come out everywhere. Have you checked on this to see if it is true?
I've read those reviews too, and most mattresses are not designed to take off the cover, so I'm surprised anyone even did that! I personally don't know if it's true because I've never even considered doing that. If they wanted to keep a mattress clean they should've bought a mattress cover!
The problem I'm having is my wife and I end up sinking together in the middle of the mattress. With memory foam, it seems to make the problem worse. Does this mattress have that problem?
We did in the Vibe on the wall at our head. But we just slid the mattress away from actually touching the wall and it was fine. Never had moisture under it.
Money...RV makers buy thousands of cheaply made mattresses at a time, and profit from cheaply made components. The mattress is not the only cost corner cutting in the RV industry. Don't purchase a camper based on the amenities, but based on build quality (frame, suspension, wall build, roof material) and how long it will last. Everything else inside it can be upgraded or replaced as needed.
I'm honestly not sure, but I'm guessing most of those are designed for the shorter and lighter rv mattresses. Some may, but you'll just to have to measure the bed opening and see if it fits!
@@LivingaLifeFulfilled yea we have to get something different for our beds in this camper. Just bought a month or so ago and camping for the first time in it and these things are hard and it's like laying on a bed of rebar
We're on our third year with this mattress and have had no issues with moisture. I will add that we are very careful to take care of it, like keeping it away from the wall if there is condensation, and using dehumidifiers if humidity is high. We are actually still loving it! It is on the firmer side, but only for "support" (my back loves it). It has a very soft top layer, so it doesn't really feel like a traditional firm mattress. Hope that makes sense! The link in our video is the exact one we have, and I don't remember if they even have any other support options. I'd buy it again though!
We actually didn't notice it at first, but yes, it is a little warmer than most "pricier" brands. We bought a cooling mattress topper this year and problem solved! Next time we might buy their next model up which has a cooling layer. Might want to check that one out... amzn.to/3AqLqXn
Actually it does have to do with an RV since we are showing that some RV's can hold a full size mattress, and a lot of people are looking for a lightweight mattress as an alternative for a true RV mattress (which we mentioned are not usually good). It may not be what you were expecting, but it is something others are looking for.
