My RV Works, Inc., Certified RV Technician, Darren Koepp, gives a detailed overview of the “LP Tap Jig” tool that he created to simplify the Propane pressure testing process for RV’s, travel trailers, truck campers, and other recreational vehicles that use Propane for their internal appliances (Furnaces, Stoves, Refrigerators, etc.)

great video there Darren, lots of information & a much better understanding of the LP gas system. I do appreciate all the work & past years of knowledge you have shared with us. The terminology is a bit different then what I understand "Lock out" as you show it - is really static pressure in our terms.?? I know your one of the real - deal kind of technician that knows what he's talking about, I watch the hands...you have all 10 digits....this makes you a master...LOL Thank you for the video and great class.

Another fine vid sir! If I may - IF during the time pressure drop test, the pressure on the manometer comes up - what differentiates a faulty high pressure regulator from a faulty tank valve? If the tank valve is leaky, the regulator is still doing it's job. I'm a little perplexed as to what would directly point to the regulator here.

Awesome video, been watching for a while, thanks for all that you do. Can you provide me with the propane certification you got and where to get it?

Great video. Can you give some more information about the quick connect on the manometer? Did you add the quick connect to it our did it come with it.

That tool is something that I conceived, design, tested, and refined. So every piece on it is something that I sourced and has passed my rigorous daily usage to make it awesome!

@@MyRVWorks so do you sell the manometer quick connect fittings then? Seems it would be great addition to your kits.

You can find products we like on our website at myrvworks.com/myrvworks-store/. The manometer is listed in this section: myrvworks.com/resources/darrens-tool-list/#datalog.

You mention a video where you measure has pressure, do you have a link?

Have a look at our LP playlist. We are building that library but you may find what you're looking for has already been added.

The flame on my Atwood stove "oscillates" or "pulses". This is on my ice fishing house and last winter when it got cold out (20 below or so) the gas quit flowing alltogether. I would like to correct this for this season. Can you point me in the right direction? I put on new tanks and my spare regulator but the flame still pulses.

Most likely the problem is the tank is too small for the appliance not allowing the propane to vaporize fast enough. You mentioning it only happens in colder temps is key to this. Larger or multiple tanks manifolded together should help that.

@@stevenscott4096 Thank you. I've been running two 20 llb tanks manifolded on one regulator - the same as an RV setup and haven't had this problem before. I'll try two 30 lb tanks though and see what happens. Could it be the way the tanks were refilled? i.e. not enough pressure in the tanks? Also, in really cold temps, the gas flow stops.

Running the stove in warm weather and the flame still pulses. Could there be a blockage somewhere?
@stevenscott4096
@stevenscott4096 2 года назад
@@dakotafisher6874 I don’t think changing to 30# tanks would matter because the surface area of the liquid to vapor interface is the same. Before you mentioned the surging happened when it was below 20F. Since it’s now happening at all temps and you’ve changed the regulator. I would test by checking the incoming pressure near the gas valve and see if the pressure is fairly stable while the burner is on. It might change a little bit, but based on what you’re saying my WAG would be to look at the gas valve.

One other thing. I’m assuming this is spark ignition and not standing pilot. Correct?
