We made measurements of the existing aluminum panel and had the mirror cut to size with 1/8” thickness. It is the thinnest mirror thickness for glass mirror.
@@BamBamRVAdventures yes thanks , I found most of that rattle was coming from the blinds, especially the side entrance door window . Solution was to simply use large paper clips for each . Noise dropped 95% !! I also installed some foam weather stripping as you advised so now very comfortable when driving with sound level reduction. I just added the Pepwave mini BR1 for Wi-fi and mobile . Next is the addition of the firefly eclipse remote connect system . Firefly move slow but I’ll patiently wait as it’s off season here now .
If he were an electrical engineer he would have done some batteries upgrades by now. Still researching and learning because he works in the law profession. 😂😂
@@carmenbeckstrom5372 Thank you for watching Carmen 🤗I gave a local glass and mirror shop the measurements and they cut it to size. It was their thinnest mirror thickness. I did that also for the mirrors above the couch.
@@carmenbeckstrom5372 it’s 1/8” thickness on the glass mirror. Before you slide the mirror in put some lubricants in the back of the mirror. We didn’t think of that so it was hard to slide it in.
@@carmenbeckstrom5372 You are welcome Carmen. It is one of my favorite upgrades, my husband doesn’t care much to use the mirror but he likes that it is reflective. 🤗
Hi Zaid, the mirror measurements 15 5/16 X 34 3/4 with 1/8” mirror thickness. I wonder if we were to place some lubricants in the back of the mirror would it make it easier to slide the mirror down? It was such a tight fit my husband almost gave up and would have to break the mirror off and put the aluminum back in. Lol At that time we thought if we had to break the mirror then we were just out $100 . 😂😂
@@BamBamRVAdventures thank you very much Darlene, I blame you for this project 😂😜, just kidding!! Thank you guys for the good work. I’ll let you know how it goes. The van is at Airstream LA now fixing the Truma W45H error message 😡.
@@zaidawni1867 hahahaha sorry to create more honey do list for you. 😂 Hope they will fix your Truma soon because you really need to use your Truma in this cold weather. 🥶
Next time you have to use the Dremel, please put your hair up. It would be terrible for your lovely hair to get caught in the spinning motor of the dremel. Cheers!
I replaced the original aluminum panel with a steel panel so we could place magnets from everywhere we camped. Since it was the same thickness, I did not remove the door but only the bottom trim piece.
Hi William, thank you for watching. It is in there so so tight so I am not afraid that it will vibrates and crack. We used to own a Roadtrek and they have 2 big mirrors attached to the bathroom doors. So hopefully it won’t break on us. 🤞
A member on the Facebook group tried the unbreakable mirror but didn’t like the fact that there is distortion so she replaced it with glass mirror. We haven’t try unbreakable mirror but just took her advice to go with the glass mirror.
