Nice series, enjoyed watching all of them. I have owned a 40 foot diesel class A for 11 years. The livability and pleasant ride are major benefits. The higher costs associated with class A RVs, unavailability of parts, higher labor costs and the overall size of these beasts caused me to do some soul searching and research. Over the years, the class C has come a long way. For simplicity's sake, ease of use and economy of repair, I think a class C in the 31 -32 foot range would make a great live-a-board coach for a couple traveling full time. The only down side that one may contend with is the smaller tank capacities in these gas models. Your videos are extremely helpful in explaining and showing people just how wonderful the nomadic lifestyle really is. Keep up the good work, you are greatly appreciated!

For all your same reasons, we have stayed with our 5th wheel. Greater living space without the cost and high maintenance of the diesel chassis. Yes, my truck is a diesel, but it requires less maintenance.

Great video but we've been in the Tiffin during the summer (on the lot) and cranked the AC - the coach cools down REALLY quickly and the return vent pulls the cold air into the bathroom so you don't need a vent blowing air in there.

Good job. Being kind of a gearhead, I'm always interested in engine size, torque, mileage, tank capacities, etc. Thanks for doing these videos for those of us who're not quite to the point where we can live the life.

We own a 28 ft minnie winnie class c and are looking to upgrade to a class A 30ft and have seen a couple of your videos. Since when is a 40 ft motorhome a mid size?? We bought ours used- a 2004 and I must say looking at new we have been so disappointed where corners have been cut to keep the price point down. Our motorhome has some great features that should be standard(in my opinion)- like double pane windows, slide out pantry and day/night shades to name a few. I pointed these out because these features were cut in some of the motorhomes we looked at. We have traveled in our mini winnie for 4 years and there are some things we will not compromise on so it looks like we are going to customize the Winnebago Sunstar 30T to get everything we want and keep it under 31feet. Can't wait to see what your new motorhome is!! Thanks for sharing!!

2 things: 1: You don’t need touchscreens or several screens, one is enough. 2. I hate smart wheels, all the stuff isn’t needed, only the horn is needed on a steering wheel.

Great review! When the time comes I plan on buying a coach in this price range, leaning toward the Discovery. I like the availability of the stacked washer/dryer and the dishwasher. Am also considering a higher end used, like American Coach, Newmar, Foretravel to get more HP, hydronic heat and hot water, all electric.

I am no authority on current RV pricing, but it seems a little strange for a "mid-sized" RV to cost $300K. Just my opinion. On the positive side, I really enjoy your reviews. Because of your extensive experience in RVs, I totally appreciate and rely on your opinions. Thank you!

Imo, a class A RV is too much RV for just two people. The point of RVing is to live outside as much as possible. Imo, a class C is the best RV for two traveling because you will get better fuel eficciency, can park in more places, can get it fixed/maintained at more places, increased maintenance expense, and better safety because a class C is usually based on a truck platform. In the future I hope join the RV ranks but after watching several vloggers dealing with class A problems I will steer clear away from a class A RV.

Have you looked at the Super C's? Like the Haulmark Motorhome on the Volvo chassis. I saw this at An RV show and the cab is great and the Bunkhouse floor plan is great, it has two bathrooms, and the bunks can be used for storage if not needed for sleeping. And the engine in the front is much easier to have work done, especially with a Volvo.

Can't help but chuckle to think that the $300,000 range is "mid-level." Out of the three, the last is the nicest. But personally, I'd go with a smaller slimmer Class B.

While you are on the open sea nowadays... Im checkin some of your RV vids If I got an RV.. I dunno.. Id be more looking for adventure with a few people.. rather than just me and a gf/wife.. So.. Id be willing to sacrifice some luxury posh.. and the king size bed to accommodate more places to sleep.. sleeper sofa etc.. The fleetwood was my fav here.. Though in looking at many.. Id almost have to get an older one.. rip out the interior and custom out one to fit my needs..

I'm curious as to how the 2017 Tuscany XTE would stack up and if Thor's improved the 'hidden' details you mentioned in this video. We're currently looking to purchase an RV and the 2017 Tuscany XTE 40BX is our #1 contender at the moment.

I definitely Luke the Fleetwood best. Although I would prefer a super c to a class a. Simply for the increased towing capacity and ease of serviceability for a front engine coach.

I agree w/you guys on the pros and cons on this one....but I'd like to add that I absolutely hate hate hate! the psychedelic scribble on the outside of all these RV's!! red & black!?! gross! I don't mind 2 tone colors schemes that go straight across, & or a wrap or decal..such as whales, dolphins or horses running, etc Nature design & RV go together like peaches & cream....but not the... I gave my kid a crayon & said have at it look! ....the swirls of scribble are a just huge eye soar for me, & I'm actually surprised most customers haven't complained about this...Is it just me?

I could not consider any Midsize Class A Diesel that cost more than my 3 bedroom brick home on one acre of land and 2300 sq ft of room. Sorry no sale. I did like seeing what is out there in that price range so don't give up showing us your opinions.

Being as the drive train in these RVs are what people are paying extra for it would be helpful if you said what engine an transmission is actually in them. Not that its not a big deal with gas burners but its even more of one in diesels.

These coaches are interesting, but I'm wondering with the current economy who will be able to afford them. I consider myself average guy, I can only afford a used coach around 10K. That's without a loan of course, paying cash. Maybe these coaches make sense if people who buy them are making money on the road or retire and buy these as a home for the next 20 years. Your thoughts? Thanks again, very nice and well made video!

@ottb2762
@ottb2762 9 лет назад
Gone with the Wynns I agree. However, I wouldn't consider that price range for most of working America mid-priced. Many people think $200k a year is middle class. Not.
@rnordquest
@rnordquest 9 лет назад
Ottb Starting price for diesels is $150k and the upper level is $500-700k while luxury starts with a 1 and lots of zeros. I think they nailed what is mid level for the market today.

Again all the coaches are ugly as heck. The design and function of most of these appear outdated. Though I must admit the one with the sliding table was a great idea. I guess for me the "high end" traditional shinny finishes , hideous upholstery and wall coverings just lack tasteful design. I understand they are reaching for an older crowd but some of want modern design and clean styles. Love the videos and the options you are showing. I find it surprising that some of the hidden features are so cheaply made.

+minecraftman 03 That's the one I'm looking at buying now. Well, within the next week to at least order one. I plan on being on the road with a wife and child and that one is one of the very few class a's with an actual room for a child. Or it could be used as a workshop. The only minus, IMHO, is the small shower - big enough for one person, but sometimes it's nice to have someone else wash your back. I can't find many impartial reviews thought.
