RVP: "Arsenal are my past now. I shown them respect last year & they didn't repay the favour - so I thought I'd celebrate today.".....thank god he celebrated!! gunners got served! xP
Its he who should be grateful to us for standing by him for 7 fucking years of injuries and inconsistency. He gives us one good year out of 8 and bails, what kind of respect should we give him?
Are Chelsea Utds local rivals? No. Will Rooney get a warm reception from the Utd away fans at Stamford Bridge if he goes? NO .........which is what she said robin
You must have recorded it on the phone in the Arsenal end. Even if it was true, which at Old Trafford it normally is, as I said, the away fans create the atmoshpere at 99% of games. You especially should know that, considering your old ground was nicknamed the library and your new grounds a constant silent movie!
Exactly. RvP isn't the only player to leave and want better things in recent years. Fabregas done it, Clichy done it, Nasri done it, although it's pretty unanimous that Samir Nasri is a massive bellend. If the club could hang onto their key players and build on the squad each year they'd be challenging for trophies every season. Shouldn't be bitter that players want to leave because they're sick of being second best every year.
RVP is still a Gunner. Good luck to RVP for his future at Man Utd and thanks for contributing 8 wonderful years of football for Arsenal! We're blessed for having a footballer of your talents for 8 long years!
Usually I wouldn't use the 'C Word' in any circumstances but in this case it's quite fitting. His reason to leave Arsenal, the fact that he celebrates against us and the fact that his boyhood dream screamed United is just a load of rubbish.
this is what football has come to eh... player can be brought up in a club for their whole life, turned into some of the best players on the planet, make amazing friends with everyone at the club and they will never get let down yet player would rather get 'the easy trophy'... its a garuntee that united are gona win something within 2 years. but its not the same for arsenal. but if our player stayed then we would win stuff. and nasri, adebayor, gallas left for money and before the teams were big
It's for this that Thierry Henry is not stay in the Premier League when he leaved Arsenal ! By respect to the fans of Arsenal ! From a french fans of Arsenal :) Come on Arsenal
Its funny how liverpool and Utd are blaming their want-away players, punishing them and tarnishing their reputations with their fans publicly. At least the club was decent to him. Do you think LFC fans would cheer Suarez out in an Arsenal shirt? Would MUFC fans cheer Rooney out in blue at Stamford Bridge? Doubt it, especially if they only got £25mil for them. But keeping them against their will will be worse in the long run. RVP will ditch Utd IF (big if there) they slump for 2-3 seasons
RVP is Man U's "Arsenal" Nasri is Man City's "Arsenal" Fabregas is Barcelona's "Arsenal" (well almost) we could make a habit of the English word "arsenal" if the football club fail to keep its good players :)
Such a good player. If we didn't sell our best players these last 4 years we would have one hell of a team now. RVP Nasri Fabregas Cazorla Wilshere Song/Diaby Clichy Vermarlen Kos Sagna Szc
The same guy who single handedly got them into the champions league the season before, only played 25 games less than fabregas is subjected to this kind of abuse. Embaressing. Its ok.....5 minutes later he scored.
Arsenal and United are NOT rivals. They are only rivals if they're genuinely competing against each other for the same trophies. This isn't the case and hasn't been for quite a few years. A rivalry is only a rivalry if there is genuine animosity from both sets of fans. If this is a rivalry it is one sided as United fans do not even think about Arsenal unless they're competing with United for trophies.
So you're saying that Liverpool and Leeds are still relevant, but not Arsenal? One's sitting lower than us and one is in a lower league, but they're still considered Man United's true rivals? Great logic.
every club does it, but think about the arsenal fans, watching adebeyor go to out rivals, and gallas. fabregas going to barca, nasri going to man city, cole to chelsea. and obviously rvp going to man u. its endless, so many players have no respect for us fans so why should we show respect when they leave
I think Arsenal fans hate him because of the way he left, most gunners i know still like Cesc and some others but people like RVP, Nasri and Clichy just left for the money. Maybe to win trophies you say but if they truley loved Arsenal they could have won trophies there if they had stayed. I'am not even an Arsenal fan but i can understand their point.
If anything, that should make Arsenal fans focus their frustrations on Wenger, Gazidis, and the rest of the Arsenal management that have failed to field a champion worthy side in over 8 years. You can't really blame players for wanting to leave for greener pastures when they've realized that the club is currently being run by washed up, delusional coaches who think coming in fourth is the ultimate prize.
looking backon the arsenal team. we only ever get 1-2 good year/s out of our players, nasri had a good 10/11 season, rvp 11/12 season, abedayor 08/09. fabregas 09-11. cole 04/06, clichy 09/10. if these players stayed then look at the team we would have now. but they choose to leave. they only ever played together when they weren't at their prime.
Cesc won't goto united though? We have the power to say no to him joining any English club as well as an option to buy him back for cheaper than what we sold him for, his buyout clause would also be to much for united, and would be a stupid price to pay, he also said a few days ago for the 100th time that the only teams he will ever play for are Arsenal and Barcelona. Don't get why some fans are getting worked up by the whole bullshit the news papers are giving out
A great player like van persie has to move to a club that will challenge for the title unlike arsenal struggling to get 4th or 5th place. Your top players are leaving no point blaming it on van persie. Blame it on the arsenal board for not spending that money on top players.
What on earth would make you think his prime motivation was money though? City have been quite clear they were desperate to sign him. They could and would have paid him more so if his prime motivation was money why didn't he sign there? There was clearly a lot more than money that went into his decision. I'm sorry if this doesn't fit your narrative, but it's obvious to everyone else.
meanwhile in Walcott's mind : "Look's like im the last player that worth something in Arsenal ,mmmhmm wonder which club should i transfer too... mmhhmm"
We'll agree to disagree regarding the game, we're clearly going to say the same thing.Yes, but when other fans start referring to it as the library, you know it's not for that readon. Even Wenger has had a go at your fans a few years ago for being too quiet. Now you know what it's like to have a ground full of tourists too hey!
you do realise that most footballer probably didnt support their clubs as a child. i am an arsenal fan but if i was brought into chelseas youth camp at the age of 12 then i would love that club. RVP might not have been an arsenal fan but for a club to do so much for him and then just leave is disrepectful. if you were brought into chelseas youth camp and turned you into an amazing player over a 10 year period then you would have grown the unconditional love no matter what team you supported
he went to win things and did so in one season..away fans are always louder, fact, you will see when utd visit and you wont hear a gooner sing.. RVP did well for arsenal. he just wanted better
He won the title, why would he care about Arsenal? Their fans should stop whining about RVP and worry about why so many players were sold to City to build their title winning team.
Haha, good fans.. really good. He left after 8 years cause he wanted a new challenge, he was the top scorer last season, lifted Arsenal and basically was Arsenal the past 2 years.. And this how you thank him?
i see your point bro but there is actually much more rivalry between man u and arsenal than against spurs. for years it has been a close battle but usually we beat spurs. anyway, tevez was not offered a contract at man united after his loan. he waited weeks into the transfer window hoping to get a united contract but they refused, so he took city's offer as they offered him top level competitions, money and lots of game time. wereas RvP had that but he had all of that art arsenal yet he leaves.
could say the same thing about united fans. they did exactly the same thing that we're doing now when he was with us, now hes with them cos he got fuckloads of money shoved under his nose, and all the united fans love him. what a surprise.
They, their previous manager forget everything that's negative. That whisky sodden old soak was moaning about Arsenal fans booing RVP and claiming former players get a good reception at OT, Rooney hasn't even left yet and they've turned on him. Horrible club I really hope Moyes ( Insert Moysey or Davey as he now is to the media ) ruins them.
what do you mean 'all he did', one good season? after 7 where he was injured and not performing, and we stuck with him and gave him chances, it paid off and he disappeared
I've been an Arsenal fan for 25 years and I must say those fans are a bunch of idiots. One player doesn't make a team so get over it and look forward to the bright future that will soon come our way.
STILL think about it. how would you feel if you did the same thing and be called a c*nt? So what if he did it for the money, most people on earth do anything for money like KILLING!! it's pathetic honestly. Robin is a grat player and did something that he wanted, end of story
Wow, didn't take much to get one of you going. Fair point though, I don't know what I'm doing here. (Though I won't deny it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.)
Dude you just said it. changing team for money is not wrong!!! and yes killing is immoral obviously but what Robin did was not! it's the fans that makes the players look bad, can't you see that?? PLUS the fans don't get affected more than maybe feel sad cause of him leaving. they don't get yelled at for example like most footballers.
