Well, Cinder got burned... or rather crystalized, I think... in the second-to-last episode of Volume 5. She had it coming for a very long time, but for what it's worth, I do hope she's still alive yet reflecting on her entire life that had led up to THAT defeat, a.k.a. A *REAL*, long awaited backstory for not just Cinder but also Mercury and Emerald.

Emerald and mercury do have backstories.

But we never actually see EXACTLY *everything* that those backstories have. I mean, Emerald's a former street kid and Mercury killed his own awful assassin father... and that's all we have so far! There aren't anymore details than what we got for both them and Cinder in Volume 3!

Unless they do decide to go further into it, that means that nothing else is of importance to the story
