@@michaeldaniels642 no, no, I'm referring to the violins that play in the score for Players and Pieces just before the song itself kicks in that aren't part of the song itself but should be.
"Or are we weapons pointed at the enemy so someone else can claim a victory?" "Just a mindless weapon pointed at an enemy a simple tool providing someone else with victory"
There also at least two songs, including this one that reference a simple soul, but with negative connotations instead of victory like in this will be the day
War Lyrics: Never really had a problem with you All along I thought our friendship was true Put my trust in you right from the start I never dreamed that you would be My enemy the knife to take my heart You screwed me in the perfect way A friend betrayed Just another mourner Content to follow orders Leave behind your conscience Abandon those who need you most Convince yourself you’re noble But we both know it’s not so But if you cross My battle line You’ll find You’ll be sorry that you tried If it’s war that you want Then you got it If it’s pain Well I brought what you need If it’s true what you say You’re the best Then let’s play You won’t believe it Until you see it When I kick your ass and Look you in the eye And with a smile and a cheerful heart i’ll Turn to you and Wave goodbye I'll be honest i was plenty surprised Turned from family to full-on despised Just like you to take the coward's way out A book of lies with no replies This diatribe's your victory no doubt You knew the cruelest things to say Then ran away Filled with spite and jaundiced Like Judas thereupon kissed Just a mindless weapon Pointed at an enemy A simple tool providing someone Else with victory Now that you crossed my battle line It's time that I blow your little mind Farewell my friend I really must give you the credit You achieved a goal Perhaps the first time in your life you felt control I'll never trust the same I'll see friendship as just another game Full of winners and losers Selfish abusers You failed to fly but Somehow I’m to blame? If it’s war that you want Then you got it If it’s pain Well I brought what you need If it’s true what you say You’re the best Then let’s play You won’t believe it Until you see it When I kick your ass and Look you in the eye And with a smile and a cheerful heart i’ll Turn to you and Wave goodbye
@@arlosmith8991 Literally that was just their entire fight until Herriot got bondaged and used leg attack on Ruby and Weiss having to step in like Ruby, your wasting soooo much timeeeee.
dayneplaylogic I honestly don’t even count that as a loss for Marrow. Weiss wasn’t even trying to beat him, she was trying to KILL him with half of her attacks, and he didn’t even actively try to fight back, just restrain her. It’s not really a win if one’s just constantly trying to say “Please, stop, I don’t want to fight you on this.”
Y’all talk about how “STAY” Shoulda been kept in, but y’all all forgetting the OG Track to have real dialogue in it. If you look for hard enough, in one of the soundtracks, you can find Nora saying “I’m Queen of the castle! I’m queen of the castle!” Good hunting
@@tennoreplay Dingingng ding ding ding! We have ourselves a winner! 2 months later we have a winner! October 28 we have a winner! Thanks for playing y’all
Hey, would you rather be on the same team as a soldier who, as heartless as it is, would leave you behind if trying to save you would get everyone else killed even though it's a heartless action? Or would you prefer a teammate who is naive and will try to save you even though it'll get everyone else killed? Personally, I'll take the former. It's better to let one person die than it is to put 10 people at risk. Never make it your objective to save everyone: that's an objective you're gonna fail. Make it your objective to save as many people as possible. You can't save everyone.
@Mrthe jayvion James is willing to sacrifice anything to stop Salem because they will lose everything if she wins. As for Harriet, it’s because she simply doesn’t question orders, and she probably felt that Team RWBY betrayed them.
I feel bad for marrow he didn't want to fight em but the rest of his team didn't care I feel like if anyone was starting to question ironwood it's him?
Vine was trying to de-escalate the situation too, he didn’t want to fight. He just ended up following along with Harriet and Elm once he realized he couldn’t defuse the tension.
A lot of the time I wish soundtracks would include critical spoken lines or foley work from the context where it played, things like “Stay!” here or “Yang!” in “Ignite”.
The straight up just casual takedown of Vine by Blake and Yang is one of my favorite parts of the episode. The sudden change of tune as the whole Ace Ops team just collectively goes "Oh crap" and we realize "Oh snap" is beautiful.
Really love the fact that everyone just looked at that one arm guy (forgot his name) when he got knocked out at the beginning. "Ayo they really fucked that guy up.... maybe we shouldn't do this"
So the main question is, is this song entirely from RWBY's perspective, or is this RWBY vs Ace Ops? The entire first verse is most certainly from RWBY's perspective. But I think there's some interesting evidence in the second verse to theorize that it's from the Ace Ops' POV: >I'll be honest I was plenty surprised >Turned from family to full-on despised RWBY considered Ace Ops friends, but now they're berating and fighting them. It's not surprising for jaded Ace Ops to act like that, but it is for the idealistic RWBY, which Ace Ops are mocking. >Just like you to take the coward's way out The Ace Ops were the ones who didn't think much of RWBY from the start, so it makes sense that they'd say "just like you" to them. >A book of lies with no replies RWBY lied to them about the lamp. >This diatribe's your victory no doubt This is Ace Ops hinting that RWBY is self-righteous in their blaming of them. >You knew the cruelest things to say >Then ran away >Filled with spite and jaundiced >Like Judas thereupon kissed I'm honestly at a loss in this part. Not just because Christianity is not a thing in Remnant so a reference to Judas is kinda weird, but also because these lyrics feel really random and I don't know how to apply them to the situation at all. I guess if we take it as somewhat out-of-universe, this could be about how RWBY got angry and insulted Ace Ops for letting Mantle get destroyed, how Ruby tried to flee without a fight to buy time, and how Ace Ops were hurt by their words? There's also clearly some vague sentiment of betrayal here (que the Judas allegory). >Just a mindless weapon >Pointed at an enemy >A simple tool providing someone >Else with victory This obviously alludes to "Time To Say Goodbye", where RWBY feared of becoming just that. So it makes sense to blame them for this, since Ironwood and Ace Ops probably think they're still following Ozpin. Thought this part could describe Ace Ops as well, since they're just blindly obeying Ironwood's orders. >It's time I blow your little mind Ace Ops are slightly older and refer to RWBY as "kids" on some occasion, so it would make sense for them to make derogatory remarks like "blow your little mind". >Farewell my friend >I really must give you the credit >You achieved a goal >Perhaps the first time in your life you felt control Now I think this part is most certainly from the Ace Ops' POV. They view RWBY revolting against Ironwood's decision as "trying to feel control" over anything in their lives for the sake of it. I don't see how this part about the control could be applied to Ace Ops' at all, since all they're doing is obeying orders. >I'll never trust the same >I'll see friendship as just another game >Full of winners and losers >Selfish abusers And this is definitely RWBY's perspective. This part reflects disappointment, and Ace Ops were jaded in the first place, so why would they be disappointed? It's probably RWBY expressing their disenchantment with Ace Ops' true cynical nature. The main chorus itself could be from either of them, or probably both of them. Feel free to suggest your own theories and interpretations.
I'm pretty sure the entire song is from RWBY's perspective. Narratively this is their big confrontation. I don't see any of the lyrics fitting the Ace Ops. It's also important to take into account the fact that this plays as soon as RWBY gains the upper hand by knocking out Vine. This song is all for RWBY and is meant to empower them as they move closer to their victory in the battle.
For the Judas part, the songs make references to real world things all the time. In Celebrate it mentions Vegas and Christmas. It's just a good line that we'd understand the meaning of, and really reinforces the idea of betrayal. Could be from the Ace-Ops, because whilst both feel betrayed, it was RWBY that ended running away to escape being arrested. Plus Yang and Weiss said stuff during the fights that got into the Ace-Ops' head, so "the cruelest things to say" could be from their view.

Destin Dustin honestly the only thing that took me off guard was Jaundice since I knew the episode and also ‘Judas Thereupon Kissed’ sounded like a different language, though I guess I was wrong.
Same. The whole song-minus lyrics-sounds like something the Great Slayer would annihilate the forces of Hell too. Reminds me of Remnant Inferis: Doom, an RWBY + Doom 2016/Eternal crossover fanfiction I recently found and fell in love with. I highly recommend it. Got a few errors in grammar and word choice, but other than that, it's spot on.
They kind of forgot that professional huntsman move in a blur because of how fast they are and how developed their auras are. Also Neo alone can beat JNR but RWBY can beat the best huntsman in Atlas?
"I'll be honest, I was plenty surprised..." As Hare runs face first into a wall of ice that was not there before. 😂 Yeah, she probably was, lol. Also, I love that Elm's voice actress sings in this, it feels like Elm herself is singing, I love it.
Yeah I’d say she needs to either develop more hand to hand skills or upgrade her sycthe so it can be a sword like Qrow’s. Especially if she’s going up against brawlers like Harriet and Neo.
Ohhh the build up was really good and this is a version without any other sounds, thats so cool :) It does feel a little weird without Marrow saying Stay tho lol
I feel like the “simple soul providing someone else with victory” is referring to Ruby distracting Harriott so that the rest of team RWBY could take care of the others Ace Ops without Harriott’s interference witch could have caused the Ace Ops to be victorious.
