Oh Ry, my goodness, one genius of all time.

Watched and listened with earphones plugged into tele,kids in bed.70 now,still love it.memories.

Those backup vocalists elevate this song to a whole new level.

Bloody masterpiece, I love it and the backing singers are superb.

I saw this line-up at the Hammersmith Odeon, London on June 6th 1982. One of the best concerts I ever saw.

Ry Cooder is absolutely brilliant and he always has all world musicians playing with him from Terry Evans right through the line up

I saw the whole program, recorded it on video and watched it over and over again. It was a classic performance, I wish the other songs were on here as well. My parents eventually recorded over the video and I thought I would never see this again.

Top song, top gig, top performance

I've always loved Ry Cooder's version of this song. It's got all the fun, rock and roll and 'having a good time' qualities that we used to hear from Rod Stewart and The Faces.

Such a wonderful set. I remember watching when it was first shown here in England and then years later finding a bootleg tape in my local record shop of the performance. Happy memories...

I went through late High school in Australia listening to this and loved it - converted a few mates too, pity I didn`t follow up with some of Cooder`s best stuff until I was too old to hear it properly !!

What a great band this was! Saw them at the Victoria Apollo in October 1980, one of my five best ever gigs. I second the proposal that the Beeb should rebroadcast the whole of the concert.

I heard his newest CD without even knowing who he was and I love love it. I can't help it id I have good, or even great taste.

MLIN20. When i first saw this video, I was mesmerized by his eye. I watched it several times I finally googled " Ry Cooder's Eye ", and lo and behold I immediately came up with an article about his glass eye. It seems that when he was 4 years old he accidentally, stabbed himself in the eye. It turned out to be quite a serious injury requiring a long time recovery. As I understand it , he came from a musical family and a family friend came to see him in his bed recuperating at four years old and the friend put his guitar on Ry's chest and started playing something. Ry later said, " I don't know what I thought, but I know what I felt”. Ry Cooder started playing the guitar at age four.
