By his astute logic why is Steven A an NFL commentator? It’s only white guys commenting when they’ve never played at the pro level? I find going on to twitter to bash players childish especially when these guys would be star struck if they met them in real life but Mendenhal’s a thinned skinned tool, especially when he drags white NFL players into it.
I’m black and a Steelers fan and I never blame him for us losing. We faced a great team and a great QB. Things happen. Hope he overcomes all the negativity.
For real…seems like Ryan Clark really isn’t sorry and there is definitely truth to him thinking that fumble cost them the game. Apology seemed insincere, Ryan’s eyes gave that away
Can't lie: the "apology" didn't seem very authentic to me either. The cat still found a way to insert in his apology how the fumble was a part of why they lost the game. Im not feelin it...
I played half my whole life. Sacrificed, lost out on relationships…brain injury, etc…and only made it to a practice squad for 3 weeks…however, even THAT is further than 90% of most ppl that talk shit…this man is not a loser by any stretch in the grand scale
Good point, that was a helluva hit, great play. Not sure how many runners wouldn't have fumbled......The Bus would've prolly fumbled, as well, and he is revered by Steeler nation.
Since it was a white football player who forced that fumble, Mendenhall did not want to give him credit for forcing it. Mendenhall himself was the one who injected race into the situation. Nobody else was even thinking about the race of the tackler.
He's talking about the gaslighting white people do, like bringing up the Mike Vick dog thing, or OJ things.. then play victim once those ppl blow up at them
You make a statement then ppl pull up your name and career and the first thing you see is the fumble. I forgot all about it and I forgot he fumbled all the time until then.
@@billhorning4023people ussually remember fumble when the qb fumbles, but a position player or runing back fumbling is bound to happen especially a running back.
@gsuandre5579 that particular fumble at that point in the game was crucial though. And he fumbled 3 times on 51 carries his last season in Pittsburgh. 🗑
Beautiful thing to see two human beings talk things through like a healthy adult should. Understanding what each individual is speaking and saying. Then apologizing, accountability for past mistakes, and understanding, it's a team sport. Life is a team sport. I dont know if most people remember or know, but Mendenhall was a pretty damn good RB. His career was cut short, and it's sad because he was very talented. A lot of players' careers are cut short due to injuries.
Man, i can't believe that a man that made it to that level of sports is so affected by someone's opinion he doesn't know or has ever actually seen. This social media thing has really captured people's self-consciousness, and many of them have their self-esteem severely affected because of someone they don't even know. I am so thankful I'm old enough to have grown up without this mess. It certainly helps to separate virtual from reality. I guess, though, in cases like this, the self-esteem was affected or weak way before that fumble or the growth of social media.
Are you dumb? They blame A SUPER BOWL LOSS ON THAT 1 PLAY. I understand you want white people to like your comment and call you a "good one" but your fat ass doesn't look to athletic anyway. I assure you making it to the Superbowl and being blamed for a fumble Is a raw wound that noone wants to have to be reminded of daily. His point is WHITE GUYS are going out of their way to rub that shit in his face unprovoked. He's not a talking head he's not in the NFL anymore he's a civilian living his life and TROLL WHITE GUYS who apparently you have no issues with finally got him to call them out.
@@Josh-fz9rh it's because white people have a culture of trolling. Black people will comment, they don't go out of their way to be disrespectful. You can keep deleting this comment all you want. You're only proving my point. Your culture is nothing but unadulterated racial insecurity.
@@Josh-fz9rh Didn't Ben throw a pick in that game that turned into points? There were several bad plays that day that had the Steelers behind in the first place. My thing is, even if that was the only bad play of the game which is impossible. As a man that has made several million dollars and made it to the highest level of sports playing on the biggest stage, some cluster fuck from God knows where wouldn't be able to shake and shouldn't be able to be shaken by someone who probably can't walk and chew gum at the same time.
From unathletic white guys. You just proved His fxckkng point. Black people don't have hearts like that. We know where a soft spot in somebody's armor is and only attack that when we get attacked on that level first. White boys think the shits funny bringing up his worst moment on the field just because. Where do you think"trolling" came from? . So I respect that brother for saying what he said and all these network negroes doing what they are paid to do.
He is emotional about the fumble in SB 45. His career ended early and maybe he regrets retiring and losing out on millions. Sad that people remind him of a mistake that defined his career. But when you troll to the level of Arian Foster, what did he expect?
As a Steelers fan. We just didn't play well that game. Yeah, the fumble killed us, but the better team won that game. Maybe it's just time to forgive him. It's only been 12 years, lol. No one should have to live with that 24/7 365 for the rest of their life.
Ben's picks put us in a deep hole, his fumble killed the momentum to make the comeback, and they let the packers put up 33 points. Bad game all around. Dude needs to just stop reading comments on social media. Advice a lot of famous people could benefit from
Does Rashard not realize that anyone who makes a costly mistake in a big moment has to live with it forever? I'm pretty sure Bill Buckner, Scott Norwood, Leon Lett, etc.. have grown tired over the years of being reminded of their less than stellar moments. None of them posted garbage like Mendenhall did.
I'll say this and walk away cause I don't expect many to understand. I expect more not to even care. He's been dealing with Racial Microaggressions since that fumble.
Hes the one with a racial aggression, and there’s nothing “micro” about it. He has brought into the media narrative and hates white people. This has nothing to do with a “fumble”.
@@BillCarson-zn9gx do you really care or are you one of those people who's going to say Racism doesn't exist? If you are, this is a perfect example. 🤷🏾♂️
@Josh-fz9rh that's a fair question. Ya know there's a difference between someone trolling you because they don't like you, of something you did vice the color of pigmentation in your skin. You know that; though so which category do I place you in besides "wannabe smart ass?"
GREAT CONVERSATION!!!! It’s this type of male open dialogue especially amongst black men that I feel is needed! I could HEAR the deep sigh of relief from mendenhall to hear those words come from his brother it was moving . A lot of people don’t know but in our society we aren’t taught to open up and apologize and feel vulnerable in moments because our upbringings be so hard it’s like we can show ZERO weakness! HUGE respect to these guys I loved seeing this .
So we can’t feel sympathy for a man that made a mistake that cost him him a chance to make his and his teammates dreams come true that’s constantly being reminded daily of it?
@@SuperTerminatorFred never said anything about forgiveness. I said feel sympathy. I was also referring to people downplaying athletes emotions because they get paid well.
@@SuperTerminatorFredof course not. Screw that racist white man who hates black ppl …. Rashad just fumbled lol. That’s it and ppl have been crucifying him for years over it. Mainly white people
Bro put out a racist tweet encouraging the division of people based on their skin color and wonders why people are going at him💀 he can’t be serious 😂 By the logic of his own tweet people can’t commentate, criticize or share their opinions on movies if we aren’t actors themselves. That don’t make any sense does it? If you’re going to tell people they can’t have an opinion on a topic LET ALONE saying they can’t have an opinion on something because of their race, you best not have any skeletons in your closet because I assure you, they will fire back and he got all that fumble talk resurfaced from it
As a neutral fan I never blamed Mendenhall for one reason. That speech from Kevin Green to Clay Matthews saying "it is time" was so badass that I don't think anybody in that stadium was more motivated then Clay. That was a football hit for the ages
I simply hated him for his running style. Big ass body just like eddie lacy back then yet would rather run outside and avoid tackles with constant spins instead of using his big body to truck 1 defender like any big back would. Its kinda how steelers fans felt about Najee the first few weeks. Big ass bulldozing body jumping and bouncing around like a agile elusize scat back. That was warrens job. Just hit the damn hole
@@mikerhem1273 If I were to guess, that hit by Ray lewis that busted his shoulder his rookie season probably affected him for the worst and killed any courage he had as an aggressive runner
Honestly I’ve never heard anyone blame him for losing the whole game cause of this play I’ve heard people say wat could’ve been but it was a collective of things that led to that outcome of the game(life long Steelers fan)
Bro Rashard I love you brother. You’re a great football player and one of my favorite RBs growing up. You’re a winner in so many people’s minds. And bro I’m not even a Steelers fan
His reasoning is a little strange but it seems he’s in a strange head space so strange behavior/comments are to be expected. His tweet was racist but I don’t believe it was intentional or malicious.
Yeah honestly he seems like a kindhearted/softspoken guy for the most part, I think the Tweet was just a bit of a bad decision that had consequences he didnt expect. Maybe a bit of CTE talk there.
@@SuperTerminatorFred YES. I would actually. If ANYONE said something that I didn’t believe was intentionally racist or had malicious intent, I’d say the same exact thing.
Mendenhall is Pittsburgh's Ernest Byner (Browns). He single-handedly ruined a 21-3 SB comeback because he 1 has 0 vision, which didn't see Clay Matthews blow up the play, the same lack of vision that led to his exit from the league at 26, 2 has 0 ball security. Ryan and the rest of the team knew he destroyed all momentum and led to the loss
I remember the team his rookie year made him carry a ball around training camp while they would try and take it from him lol he always had a fumbling issue
Who would of ever guessed he was so soft? Man up son, you fumbled big deal, own it and move on. The fans who pay their hard earned money should just be quiet and ignore NFL super bowl history? Get real...
The spindenhall fumble put the nail in the coffin, it is what it is. Ben played like crap earlier in the game, but the momentum was back with the Steelers until that fumble.
I never knew the man costs the steelers a superbowl, but since he ran his mouth with his white vs black stuff, i see that he did fumble and cost the city of pittsburgh a championship
Certain fans never seem to remember how Ben dug the hole that the team was climbing out of...they only remember how, just as we were crawling out of it, Mendenhall kicked us back into it...
Sorry the guy has suffered over this. Hope he heals. Reminds me of the Steve Bartman story, from the standpoint of one act, one situation unfairly labeling or marking an individual...we MUST forgive others, for we all will have times where we will need that same forgiveness from others.
How the heck can people blame him and not StripSack7 who threw a pick 6, another pick in the red zone setting the Pack up for another easy score and then missing Wallace who was wide open on a crosser for an easy TD, but for some reason, Steelers fans only mention Mendy's fumble,......I wonder why,,,,,,,
Because he was known for fumbles his entire career. 1 pic wasn’t Ben’s fault and he brought back into that game and he’s a HOFr and one of the greatest ever. He also didn’t lash out against the Steelers after getting boo’d outta town. That’s why 😊
It’s a damn game, big deal. This man got paid millions to play a game. You made it! You did what a lot of people wish they could do, but aren’t skilled enough to do it. Be thankful
He brought this heat onto himself with a controversial post. Now, his past is coming back to bite him, and he wants to play victim to one of the most die-hard fan bases in all of football. You get no sympathy from me. As a Vikings fan, you allowed our biggest rival to capture another Lombardi Trophy.
You must have missed some information in this he was getting bashed about the fumble for a long period of time and he got tired of being attacked about it and made his comment just explaining what happened not saying right or wrong
I’m not gonna lie i totally forgot about the fumble. Move on bro. Let it go. That’s the past live in the present. You. Are the one carrying that chip bro. Do more great things. And please keep race out this bro. It’s causing separation for nothing but something you can’t let go. Get your emotions healthy bro. Let shit go be a 👑
His fumble was the back breaker, Big Ben overcame the earlier mistakes to do what he always did, lead a game winning drive. Rashard just can’t accept it
Theres nothing wrong with tears, it's the bodys way of dealing with an influx of emotion. You feel it, let the tears come and then they go, like everything else in this life.
Ben Roethlisberger had a passer rating of 69.9 with 642 yards, 3 touchdowns and 5 interceptions in 3 games in Super Bowls in his career. this is what losses Super Bowls , but for us having a great DEFENCE won 2 out 3 and that's who I felt lost the game
If you've never played football on that level, if you've never had enough talent to even play football in college, you are not qualified to say who or what Rashard Mendenhall is as football player because you don't know what it's like to play on that level or in college.
Did you play at the college level? If so, was Jerry Rice a good receiver? I never played at the college level so in the off chance you did, I’d like to ask someone who’s qualified to answer. I was a baseball player.
@@anybodycangetit-e1s Was Tom Brady a better quarterback than Jamarcus Russell? Unless you’ve played football at the collegiate level you’re not qualified to answer that question by evaluating and comparing those 2.
@@chicagodude8888 I played D I-AA. No, Jerry wasn't a good receiver. He is probably the greatest receiver ever. That one was easy, but I think a question that would be more challenging is to ask whether Joey Galloway, Terry Glenn, or Sterling Sharpe were good receivers. I can understand what Mendenhall means here.
If you hire a plumber and they do a terrible job since you’re not a licensed plumber you can’t speak on the job they did because you’re not qualified If you hire a roofer and your roof leaks after they’re done you’re not a roofer you’re not on their level you can’t say they did a bad job you’re not qualified
What’s interesting is that I never viewed Mendenhall as anything other than a professional player but after his tweet I saw him as a black professional player that wrote a racist post. He changed my perspective of him by showing his thought process of others. Who else does he hate.
Bro got hit by Clay Matthews. They should’ve got over it right then and there. A game is a whole 60 minutes. Steelers defense got fried the whole game. Only thing that kept the Steelers in it were the Packers RECEIVERS dropping the ball!!!
That’s what I always say in response. NO ONE was stopping Clay Matthews in that moment. Dude jarred him one on one like a semi truck. What about the blatant missed block on top of that? Crazy that Matt Ryan didn’t get the same heat when his ass fumbled in the Super Bowl from a softer hit. Not to mention the Steelers also dug themselves into a god damn 18 point deficit like Rodgers wasn’t gonna finish them off after carving them up all game.
Steelers are not in the SuperBowl without Rashard’s efforts that year. Trying for extra yards does/can lead to a fumble (even if forced). Without those efforts, again, they are not getting to that SuperBowl.
Caucasian podcasts have made the same claim that Caucasians would be people of color in sports, so I don't have a problem with Rashard Mendenhall saying the same thing
Ryan Clark is forgetting that without rashard mendenhalls contributions they may not have even been in a position to lose the super bowl. I would definitely understand his animosity for this than for anything the wannabe, could've, would've been trolls on social media might have said.
Those very few people aren't going to change their opinions. If it affects him and his business that much change your name. If you can take the praise you gotta take the criticism.
Why? He is right Big Ben was known for game winners in big moments. Ben would have won us that game, and RC knows it. He threw a buzzer beater against the packers right before this game
All it would take is to stop being a baby about it and let it go. People will CONTINUE to mess with him until he says “yeah man you right. I suck. Whatever” and shows it doesn’t bother him. You gotta take the ammo out of it
