This was an obvious pairing, with both gentlemen putting in a creditable performance. Tonally their voices were very similar, but Ryan had more control and looked more comfortable on the stage. The arrangement was a little disingenuous thanks to a number of backing singers getting in on the act. Curiously, they were not visible amongst the band. But the lads did a great job of harmonising at the end, and I'm sure the musical producers were trying to cater for that five part harmony sound that we are all so familiar with! I liked them both, but for me Ryan was a clear winner.

Joe won this for me. Ryan was good but he was too similar throughout. Where as Joe really showed emotion in the higher parts. I wish you well in the competition Joe.

I think Ryan should have won. He's the better singer. Joe sounded like he missed a note or two. I'm disappointed but not surprised that Rita chose Joe. Glad Ryan got picked so he could stay in the show. He was great.

I can only imagine that the high amount of likes on this video is because they're both cute... not because of their singing. They were both really flat.

Ugh, I hate Jason Mraz songs. They don't have any flow. It's...word..for...word. Or even syllable. Joe's got the same problems with the start as during his audition. He sounds more distinct than Ryan when he pushes upwards. Ryan's tone is too similar across his entire range for my liking. I don't like his diction, either. It might seem weird, but it's too clear and crisp. I had issues like this with Sally last season. Coupled with the Mraz style the effect intensifies. So I'd give it to Joe, because he intrigues me more. However, he doesn't make a leap quite yet.
