Peter, Marius Bakken would be a great person to interview, he is a former Norwegian distance runner. Specifically, his use of double threshold days and his use of Lactate testing during the middle of workouts. Norwegians seem to be getting top results, with the use of high volume of lactate threshold training. Would be interesting interview.

I hope some poor soul isn't going to try to copy this routine and wonder why they aren't progressing or chronically fatigued. Missing the point they lack the luxury of time that offers professional runners an upper hand when it comes to recovery.

not included was what he actually did in the weight room for training. guessing hex bar deadlifts (which was mentioned, but not in the context of his training), hang and power cleans, maybe even hip thrust.

This was recommended just after I watched the the interview about running more 15 miles a week ain't good for you.

Why would you ask about the training from a decade ago? He already said it was trash. Improper training. The wife would benefit from modern knowledge.

The man ran a 2h04m marathon. That kind of training would for sure still be relevant.

@@eugenemorrison2720 It was established it was a fluke. Impossible to replicate.

@@running.lawyer Cool. So he completely by accident ran the fastest American marathon time, and we should not even think about the training that went into that because it happened 10 years ago. Got it. Good advice.

Until now, Ryan Hall and his coaches still don't know how it was achieved. He spoke about it openly many times.

That's correct. You have plenty of Africans that systematically run way faster than him. No one seems to notice.
