Love the message that instructors need to show 'how you get to the set up'. Yes, so often too easily skipped over. Small but important detail. Thanks Ryan. Love the explosions. My son was like what the heck is going on? Haha.
@jeyel71 It's mainly a sports BJJ thing but while it's definitely not a common position, it has been used in MMA quite successfully. IIRC Little Nog used it in one of his recent fights.
It can be quite useful in MMA if rather than staying the DHG you rotate the whole way through and out the back, if they are not expecting it, like most striker/wrestlers aren't, you can take the back or escape to your feet
@jeyel71 its been used in mma by the nougera brothers a lot. watch jason brillz vs lil nog, lil nog sweeps him like 4 times with deep half but yh its mainly for sport bjj just like the 50/50 guard
@jeyel71 You could use it in MMA, but your face is exposed and you could get pounded. Now, that being said, if your fast enough and got this technique down it could prove useful. My personal opinion is that its not very practical for MMA, but hey, it could prove useful.
Guy? Ok street boy.. Well hes actually explaining some key points. You make it pretty obvious you are just a youtube warrior if you arent willing to listen to detail... The people that ACTUALLY practice jiu jitsu would probably LIKE TO LEARN THE KEY DETAILS.. "GUY" Go watch someone do a technque without explaining it, then try it yourself on an advanced grappler.. Its not happening bucko.
