Ryan Mathews Season Highlights 2013-14 

One of the most underrated RB's in the NFL. I like this dude a lot.

My boy finally broke out and showed his talent!! he's healthy now and look at the damage he caused! still wish he could end those 30+ yard runs in TD's, but a great year none-the-less

Call me late on this... I knew who Ryan Mathews was when he entered the league, but it is only recently that I have paid attention to him. Good speed and power, excellent quickness, and fierce aggression. It's a pleasure to watch his highlights.

This was in recommended for me so I thought I'd check it out, never really paid much attention to him before but he is pretty freaking good! Haha

If he was healthy for the Bronco playoff game we would still be in. Man get better Mathews! He gained so much respect for me this year.

Mathews had the 2nd most 100 yard games. He's starting to finally show his true potential.

A lot of eagles fans are acting like they downgraded in getting Mathews. Im a die hard charger fan and also a major RM supporter. A lot of charger fans bash him but he is one of the most physical[if not the most] physical running back in the league. He takes guys out every game with his brusing style and that leads him to get injured often. If he can be taught to sometimes just go down instead of over doing it, he might be a major steal for yall. 12 mill isn't that much for a player of his caliber. When he is on the field he is an absolute beast and a top 5 rb. He doesn't talk much just grinds. He will be missed from the chargers!!

This is what I have been waiting to see of him.

I'm proud of Ryan. Really. Everyone, including me, was thinking he is never going to pan out to be the draft pick we expected him to be and it was looking bleak there for a moment, but then this season came around and I saw something brilliant. Good job man. Keep up the good work.

I really enjoyed these highlights. I never paid much attention to Ryan Mathews during his career, but from what I have seen from these and other highlights, he ran with good speed, great quickness, and aggression even more fierce than Adrian Peterson. Unfortunately, he couldn't stay healthy. But he was CERTAINLY a good player.

The thing about Ryan is that he is getting better and better every year. I would take that, but now it's about consistency and being healthy. I think he proved last year that he is tough, playing through an ankle injury from November (Or December, not sure) into the playoffs.

I'm one of the few charger fans that liked Mathews when he was on my team when healthy this guy is a beast the reason why he is so injury prone is because he gives it his all when he runs good luck in philly ryan

Ryan Mathews finally had a breakout year. If he can stay healthy all through next year, the Chargers should do well. Even against a tougher schedule. And yes, this video was 100% necessary to upload.

He really a great back I like the way he can pick up the first down by running in between the tackle and he has speed there really no flaws in his game I wish he can stay with the chargers with no injury I'm a charger fan so I'm really mad that he had to go because I like him

I'm glad to see him finally appreciated. All it took was for him to gain some confidence away from Norv Turner with a less transparent offense.

I think Ryan Mathews is going to have a great year this season because nobodies talking about him.. I mean people is literally neglecting the fact that we picked up Mathews along with Murray! we now have 2 starting RB's on our roster & Darren Sproles had more rushing TD's then Lesean McCoy last year & was the best punt returner in the NFL & he's our 3rd string! health should not be an issue for these players anymore due to the fact they don't have to carry a heavy work load like how they did with their 1st teams because now they someone to split carries with! this is going to be the best RB duo since LT & Darren Sproles!

once (or if) Ryan Mathews stops getting injured, he can be a serious threat in the SD backfield. He is picking up every yard possible on every play. If SD doesn't want him in every play, he can be a great 3DRB. When hes healthy, he has the potential to be a top 5 back in this league. Watch the highlights.

Dang. It really hurts watching him go...

His running style is like a halfway point between (2006) LT and Sproles. He can maneuver and change directions like LT but he breaks into full speed more quickly and runs at a speed closer to sproles. Honestly i just wish we could trade Brown for Tolbert. A super-dynamic running trio of Matthews, Woodhead, and Tolbert would be absolutely terrifying. Even without Tolbert though the Chargers have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL; there's just too many play-makers for one defense to cover.

Welcome to Philly. Everyone is high on DeMarco and for good reason but this guy is a beast, wouldn't have minded if we didn't sign DM. This is going to be a nasty RB tandem.

The nastiest stiff arms he puts on defenders.

If we re-sign him, I feel he should work on his flexibility in the off season there were some runs where he stumbled and tripped and if he didn't he could of got an extra 5 yds some he could of even taken to the house.

Ryan get in better shape for sure, but I think the improved line (DJ fluker) was the major contributor to his decent season.

I think he has great vision, always looking at where is blockers are going to set his path. He has great speed and from what I saw can be elusive at times/ 4:25 into the video vs KC 55 had him dead to rights and he made a great move to the outside. I thnk this guy will do really well in Chip Kellys systems!

2013 was the best season Mathews had, everyone keeps saying that he is a bust and needs to be cut by the team, look at the stats people, 2011 Mathews rebounded from his rookie season where he was injured and rushed over 1,000 yards, and now look at 2013 he stayed healthy and had his best season as a bolt because we had an offensive line who created running lanes for Mathews to run and you all are saying that he needs to go I disagree a lot, when he is healthy he is playmaker he proved it last season so I say after 2014 we need to bring him back because he is our RB

he has no weaknesses but he needs to cut to the outside more I saw some openings where he could have bursted out for 5-10 more yards I have the same problem I always seem to cut in more often when playing running back.
