The people of Wrexham are symbols for every city, village or town which was written off, sidelined, and told to wait their turn by the “important” people. They are showing the world what amazing things a community can do when someone gives them an opportunity to show their best selves.
This may be one of my favorite videos that you have posted, thank you! I am one of the fans from the US who is in love with the team, the town and especially the people. Thank you for all your effort and hard work. You too Dad!
I've been a Wrexham fan going on 3 years now. I can understand fans of other clubs feeling the way they do, but if the shoe were on the other foot, they would be feeling the same way. I hope that some of the other clubs can get the same blessings that Wrexham has gotten. From Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee, Wrexham, Wrexham, Wrexham...
Im from the U.S. Washington, D.C. to be exact. I’ve been looking for a team in Europe to cheer for, for years but no club resonated with me like Wrexham. Rob, Ryan, and the doc is what originally drew me in, but their community first vision, and idea of cheering for a club that isn’t already a finished product, is why I will remain a fan.
You're welcome, Jeff. You are doing a great job with the food bank. My parents took some food and toiletries there recently. I hope this video drives some donations for you.
As a Canadian I am very well aware of all the philanthropic efforts that Ryan Reynolds has undertaken in Canada. Nice to see how his and Rob McElhenney's investment in Wrexham FC has also lead to people from all over the world discovering Wrexham, it's football club, and for those people to help out with money for Wrexham charities.
It’s great to see its more than just the football club. The town as a whole is benefitting from all the publicity. It’s a plain old feel good story. Who doesnt love the rise of the underdog. I hope success in all its forms continues for wrexham for years to come to come. Good luck and maybe some day I will get to visit and have a pint at The Turf! Cheers from the US!
Wow! I just saw this, what a lovely video, it's very touching! Jeff, John and I are honored that you chose to highlight the "Eliminate Empty Crates" campaign for The Wrexham Foodbank and thanks for including a link where people can give, every single £ will go to help someone in need. The world loves Wrexham, this is a great way to give back, thank you!
Thank you very much. We donated some food and toiletries this week and I really hope the video can spur people on to donate. Now more than ever places like Wrexham need assistance and the thought of hungry people in my town is a terrible thought. Thanks to you all for doing this!
This is true. I never ever heard of Wrexham before the documentary. You can’t be a fan of something you’ve never heard of. Also, I never knew where Wales was located on a map until the documentary. I didn’t know it was part of the UK. If fans are upset that I’m a fan now, just know, I understand how they feel, but I do buy Wrexham merchandise now and that does help the clubs bottom line.
There is no problem with anyone being a fan. If we had gone up without Ryan and Rob ticket sales would still have increased. I am surprised they never had a season ticket before, that way it would have carried on after the takeover.
I am a plastic fan (I guess). I pay monthly to stream the games, I pay for an international membership. I will be travelling to California to watch a match and fingers crossed that I get a ticket, I will see the team play at home this fall. I also have Wrexham merc. However the funds are allocated, I am helping to support the team which in turn supports the town.
You are too sweet. I had already gotten used to the plastic thing. I know I have no connection to Wrexham, but neither did Ryan or Rob. Do we consider them plastic fans? I’m very proud to be a brand new fan of Wrexham and I’m very happy to know that at least one person from that beautiful town likes us too.
