God, so many memories. When Tristan Rogers debuted as Robert Scorpio he was kicking the door open for the next generation of Soap Actors from Y & R, Guiding Light, All My Children and One Life To Live. Ryan's Hope would have been perfect to rebroadcast on UK TV because many of them hang out at a Bar where all kinds of things happen to them.
Had I gotten into soaps at this time, I would have definitely wanted to watch these, although I was a kid, and would have only been able to watch during the summer . Wish I had the money to start a classic soap channel , even if I started around late 70's or even 1980 and on.
Thank you so much for more of these ads! A lot of good stuff here. I really appreciate you sharing these RH and LOV ads which I've never seen before. Even a glimpse of Patty Lotz (Ava #1), and some of the Lily story that they were made to cut short. Some good ads in here - my favorites were Jill leaving Frank and Jill/Charlotte faceoff. Judith Chapman + Nancy Addison = soap heaven. How long did Love Report last? I think the Duke ad must be from 1986.
I can't tell you how many times I thought he'd be justified in leaving ATWT and never looking back. Maybe an experience like that scared him off. But an hour-long soap requires twice as much work and I never heard about him doing Broadway like Larry Bryggman in those years.
Scott played a deli owner on Ryan's Hope for about 2-3 years. He said he left because he was constantly on Broadway and didn't have enough time...then after he left, he didn't work again for over a year.
1:07 I remembered those soaps when they moved to 12 noon slot (11 am for west coast). I’m from San Diego, KGTV took them off the lineup due to lack of audience in 1987.
I think he might have done one Broadway thing when he was on ATWT but if so, not for long. When he was on RH, he was in The Rink for quite a while, and I think Che, or Evita.

I love the background music scores on these Love in the Afternoon promos. I am doing a recreation of one of these promos and I’m wondering where I can find some of the music.
@BruhTV Yes is was Just like Ryan Hope was another good soap too .But Loving never became a big hit as ABC hopped .In some markets never even showed it..I am a major Philip Brown fan .. XD
OMG the frank ryan promo with his wife is the worst promo i have ever seen.... at 3:06 is that the Angelica Deveraux #2 from days of our lives and the mother of michael baldwin on the young and the restless (Gloria) ? i love the: LOVE In the Afternooooooon line :D Good feeling. they should make something like that again ohhhh The Wagners ! :D Felicia & Frisco
Scott Holmes was on Ryan's Hope?! Wow, I never knew that. And he's a rival with Alan Spaulding #2. The "mysterious Ryan" was later Mark Harrington on ATWT. Lucky girl, caught between those twins on GH! That quick shot of Anthony Herrera got me excited. I never saw much of Jennifer Ashe as Lily on Loving either. If these promos don't prove how incestuous the soap industry is, I don't know what will. These folks just bounced around from show to show to show and barely any other medium.
ABC shame on u for letting Agnes Nixon's bully u into moving Ryan's hope for loving!! Didn't work livings best rating barley beat Ryan's worst and the reason was Ryan's hope was great!!! In the seventies for a few years it beat even GH and oltl and coming close to amc..check Ryan's out in you tube and binge watch it's all there!! You'll love it!!
