Such a genuine dude. It sucks to hear MTV corrupted his childhood. Probably led to the depression and alcoholism. For what it took from him, hopefully the show has allowed him financial freedom.
He makes more money from other outlets. His show ended badly because he broke contract right before the end so re runs of his show never even got aired
Sheckler is such a genuine, nice, down to earth dude. I always looked up to him when I was younger skateboarding and going to the skatepark. Miss those days 😢
i remember seeing ryan in a xgames many many years ago and remember me and a buddy going down the bleachers to say what's up and asked for an autograph, security tried making us get back and go away and he stopped them and moved them aside with this look on his face like "leave them be" he signed are stuff and said thank you and pushed on. to this day that memory is carried with me. genuine than and genuine to this day.
Ryan and I are the same age. I met him at 13 when he and the spitfire crew came through my hometown. I remember being so blown away at his talent. He signed a poster for me that I regrettably gave away some 5 years later. How cool to see what he’s done.
Thats the issue with addiction.. It usually takes more then once to get it right because the mind only sees the good times and good feeling and very easy forget the pain and misery.. addiction is no joke..so good to see him doing well! What is will be.. also I think it can shape the way u think..you tend to enjoy the little things in life.. and just to wake up happy is huge! Congrats on everything!
He was doing so well mentally until that show came out. I remember looking up to him in high school as a skater and my friends and I couldn't tell if he was just acting or if his issues were real on that show. God Bless him for being a born again Christian.
sweet! my new nickname is 'cryin' richard'. good job dude! i'm 50 and could use your advice on a regular basis. the humility you have, with regard to your access is unbelievable. you inspire man, keep it up!
Shecks just loving skating and you can really tell in this video. He’s always done some crazy spots from all his parts. Plus he was insanely successful at a young age for contests so he’s seen it all really.
deep questions and ryan you are very brave because the skateboarding community is very tolerant of everyone but its hard to a be a Christian.. great interview, Jesus also changed my life and now i am back skateboarding better than ever at age 31 almost 32
sheck alway be ma fav since day one! and how God put him till dis day and being His believer in the skate scene to spread the word. what a God plan for sheck ! rejoice @sheck
This video didn't show in my notifications. It should have way more views and well over now 16 comments. RU-vid is on one bro!!! It's Sheckler dude come on!
That's truth! It's says when that which is bad becomes good, and that which is bad becomes good! We are there, my friend! Always look to Our Heavenly Father over the world
Man.. I get kinda nostalgic seeing Ryan. Him being on Mtv and all.. It brings back memories. Good times man. Everyone from - GOOD - the MTV era knows what i mean. Just shitkids having fun, love and break ups, partying, skating,.. just messing about, listening to punk rock. Now we, and our idols are grown up.. Some are even old, or rests in peace. Man.. Good times. I know some say they wouldn't go through it all again.. but man, i would! All the pain too. It was innocent times, and you felt invincible! Now being an adult, I understand what pressure, anx and also addiction, actually... stuff he says abt taking the ego out of it. It's important. When you GET sober/clean, that's just the first part of it, to STAY clean is a job you gotta do the rest of your life. You never stop having the addiction. I got mad respect for both the human, and the skater Ryan Sheckler!
wtf does he mean WHY DID TONY HAWK COME TO YOUR 6TH BIRTHDAY? ......he is ryan sheckler....his parents did everything involved in skateboarding for him......like what??
Learning how to fall! I never learned.. between moto and bmx I've had 9 broken bones and a screwed up back im only 40 and can barley walk after a few hours on my feet. Its a tough love! If your a young and up comer that loves extreme sports and want to dive into it.. id recommend learning how to fall it's a key to enjoying your passions/hobby and life..(edit) I just wanna add i think confidence is a major tool of learning all of it. 💪😎🤘
He’s a dude we all looked up to and thought was cool. Not a single moment of negativity that I remember. In my opinion a shining example of a role model and public figure.
Saddest thing ever to watch. This could've been Aaron Carter today, both were around the same age & kinda same level of fame then both fell from it. Both became addicts when their mental health declined. Sadly 1 isn't here anymore bcuz no one would admit he had a problem & let him manipulate ppl to sweep it under the rug.
Video was awesome, with them in the same room talking for hours without mask, to riding in the car together wearing chin diapers. Love Ryan and his journey, but the virtue signaling has got to stop.
He is lmao whether your being sarcastic or not. Their is a board company called plan b lol by the way. Oh and pastrana can do burnouts on a moped/ whatever in my house any day. Lol
Whole interview is full of dumb lies. Tony hawk was a young pro, so the whole “idk anyone who went pro at a young age” is complete bs. Ryan partied in videos as a kid, but he “didn’t party”.. okay, can’t listen to this dude.
“Partying” when you’re 13 is probably not comparable to people in their 20s up all night drinking and doing blow or whatever to a point that it’s a problem
