lol. Jeez, these guys look SO similar to Obi-Wan and Anakin. It's like the young version of Obi-Wan going against a less scarred Anakin. And damn, do I love it.
I must remind myself NOT to make an enemy of Ryan, Brandon or Michael if lightsaber technology ever becomes available. I don't care if it's choreographed. It's still really good.

That spinning camera at the end there was epic ha. Can't wait to see the end, Ryan has lost every battle so far. Good sport..Finally they brought a red saber into the picture.
Thanks a lot, we appreciate it! I had to edit the sound because the metal clashes from the props sound weird when in the final movie, so I removed the audio and added the soundtrack later. It not quite the same music, but it's from the same soundtrack.
out of ryan dorkman and brandon, ryan is actually the best because he has perfected 3 styles of dueling, one swording, duel wielding, and the double saber. it takes alot of skill to master even one of those
Forgot to say that the person with TWO sabers is cool because he actually knows how to use two weapons simultaneously to good effect. Most people just hold two blades and use them the same as they would if they had only one weapon, a highly ineffective practice.
2:08 - 2:20 most badass and awesome part, when he was twisting around the 2 sabers, that was amazing, and i like the stance he went into when the 2 were parallel to each other, great video. amazing fighting skills, ryan and brandon (and dorkman) have my greatest respect
I must have watched this video three or four times without realising that while Ryan is busy trying to pull his lightsaber back at 2:36, he's still fighting Brandon!
I know that, but I thought it would be cool to come out with the FIRST full edited Ryan vs Brandon 2 video. I will also be working on the official one brought out by Ryan. Plus, it hones my skills with After Effects; I'm always open to that.

Wow, not bad. Ryan has improved his craft sinced the last few star war battles. Love the effects, The other guy was good also, There are a few things i would have changed in the fight scene to make it look more like a real fight. I would love to take on both Ryan and Brandon at the same time. I know it would be a cool battle.
To get the circling effect they must have had a cameraman on a flat bed trolley and then just pulled it around them while the were fighting, and then you can tell if you look at Brandon's shirt that they sped the footage up a bit.
what is the specific name for the coupler that you have used to simply slip and slide your sabers together so they lock in place? i know you make your own stuff, but is there a place i could buy one for my custom built twin sabers? or any tips on how to make it?

I must say I think i prefer this video to the fully rotoscoped version. The lightsabers remind me of the original trilogy and seem much more real and not so 'perfect' from the prequel trilogy
Thanks, I think it's awesome that they didn't show the very end. You can't really tell me to keep it up, though; I just did the effects :-) Feel free to tell Ryan Wieber to keep it up, though.
It is 100% done, actually; they made the video without an ending where someone wins ;) Thanks for the compliment, if it was meant for me (the acting was done by Ryan Wieber and Brandon Flyte; I just did the effects.)
@winman2000 In the old days, yes. For RvD2 and RvB2 we use carbon fiber blades except for rare occasions, like 2 or 3 shots in the beginning of this one.
The program was Adobe After Effects. There is no plugin; you basically animate a white solid over the props, blur it a few times, and color it. It is a bit more complicated than that, but that is the general idea.
Ryan cool moves at 2:09 Brandon... breaks his damn saber again at 2:51!!! I have him on my friends at facebook I asked a few times but he is very busy right now. The Bit at 2:09 is my favorite he is sooo awesome with those sabers, I remember him from six years ago he was so young, now he is older and is excellent. I wish him luck on this prohect.
yea that part is my favorite part. maybe they built a rig that circles around them .... or maybe a rig that makes them spin? I wonder if that would that produce the same effect? I dunno it's the coolest part for me =p

Because I had to remove the sound so I didn't have to worry about matching the sound effects with the prop noises. So I just added a similar version of the music later
once ryan gets out his second saber, the sword arts are worthy of the makings of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith... dare i say, even better. even b4 that, its still episode 3 level
Cool a lightscaber deuls are Jedi powers are frightningly underused. Even simple telekenisis could be an easy battle ender often enough not to mention the more interesting and esoteric things like Vader absorbing blaster bolts.
@77Krugg77 It may be that he was worried (rightly so from their last duel) that Brandon would try to take one of them. It was simply easier to hold on to. (Didn't work too well, but that was because Brandon was able to disrupt his focus with that Force Push, a factor most martial artists would not need to consider) Also, blows with a saberstaff (dual saber) have more power behind them, so that would be another reason. I think which works better more comes down to the style of the fighter.
