In this video we see Ryde City Council truck SL021 collecting recycling on a sunny Thursday morning through the streets of North Ryde and Ryde. This truck just started its third load at 9:00am after just tipping off at Polytrade Rydalmere. I managed to get this footage in the October holidays with my good mate Yianni (VictorianGarbo) when he came up to Sydney for a few days.
After meeting Yianni we headed off just after 9am into the collection zones in search for a truck after finding out the garbage was done and the recycle still to be done we waited around and as we turned into the street we heard the loud roar of SL021 approaching its first street for the third load. After a quick chat with the driver me and Yianni were off filming this truck for a good 30 mins. After this we were on the hunt for the GenV and after spotting it we followed it into the Smalls Rd cut out zone collecting red bins with SL029. After getting two MKIV's and the GenV on film, the day was successful. Thanks to Yianni for the awesome day and we had a good chat along the way, hopefully we can do it all again before these trucks are withdrawn from full time service in Ryde in April 2015.
SL021 is a loud and hard working truck that collects both green waste and recycle on alternating weeks, this video turned out quite well as you get to hear the truck revving from bin to bin and up the steep hills of North Ryde. Also all rubbish that was spilt while emptying was picked up and in the video you get a good look at how some residents frustrate the driver by placing the bins in stupid spots.
