perhaps an inspiration for God of War.
There is also a version for Nintendo Wii with a design change.

The gow before gow haha About bloodforge,I almost bought the Xbox 360 version, but I never played it, I just watched some videos and I'm crazy about Hack and Slash so I always write down in a notebook the games I still want to play. Have you ever played? Can you tell me the number of weapons, combos and difficulty?

@@TheBanbanGames three melee weapon one range weapon as for difficulty it's get hard late game due to poor enemy design and combination as for combo there are a lot of them I find just button mash work just fine. My Xbox already gone so I can't remember much.Tip don't afraid to use item seriously don't horde them it'll make the experience much smoother.

Thank you so much for highlighting this game, this and the PS2 Vanias did so much for God of War's chain physics mostly for the weapons, this one especially. Even not directly as an inspiration, the tech was out there thanks to that. It's also nice to see a game from the era of Tecmo getting back up on their feet, what with the Ninja Gaiden reboots at the time, the more popular DOAs etc. Plus it's honestly a nice game, up there with Nanobreaker, the PS2Vanias and OZ for funnest PS2 games at the time when it came to smaller time projects.

Since his weapon is a literal shield with chain, you'd think he would at least have a ton of counter attacks

Does it have counter attacks? I haven't tested parry or counters because it's very easy

Yes I think really God of war game was inspired from this well next up for Dead to rights 2 full movesets I have heard this game combat is bit like John wick and some martial arts.
