I haven't been in competition or followed any karate for quite a while but getting back to it now. What's with the stomping feet? Is that a new criteria or something lol, that used to be frownded upon by WKF standards.
It is absolutely impossible to combine these two performances! Torres is very tense in the shoulders, his timing is not right in many places. Although Kiyuna also uses a lot of athletics, but it does not prevent kata from remaining kata. Torres is a good athlete and that's all, Kiyuna is already a great karateka. That's the difference.
Something very clear..Torres is competing with a modified version for f the Kata….this reduce the chance to appreciate his good technique. Kiyuna is far away from Torres…Torres has to win first to Quintero before to get close to Kiyuna numbers
I have seen Kiyuna spar.....never saw Torres spar.....and why does Torres bend his neck and upper back forward in movements and Kiai? He consistently does this....not sure why.....
