RYOBI WHISPER WATER MISTER FAN, CAMPING IN THE HEAT?
HECK YES! It does make a difference, especially if you don't mind getting wet.
RYOBI Introduces the 18V ONE+ Cordless 7-1/2 in. Bucket Top Misting Fan Kit with 1.5 Ah Battery and Charger. Now part of our WHISPER SERIES, this fan is 44% quieter with 840 FPM (feet per minute) to keep you cool no matter the application. This misting fan is equipped with 2 speed and 2 mist settings. The pivoting head directs airflow/mist where it’s needed. Easily connect to standard garden hoses or pump water directly out of most 5-gallon buckets (Sold Separately). Our robust design features a handle and integrated hose storage for maximum portability, use, and storage. Best of all, it is part of the RYOBI ONE+ System of over 280 Cordless Products that all work on the same battery platform. This 18V ONE+ WHISPER SERIES 7-1/2 in. Bucket Top Misting Fan includes (1) PCL851 18V ONE+ WHISPER SERIES 7-1/2 in. Bucket Top Misting Fan, (1) Hose Adaptor, 1.5 Ah Battery, Charger, and operator's manual.

It got water ALL over the porch when only on for a few minutes but for the price, it's decent for a portable strongish small fan. I turn off the mist and use an electric handheld sprayer with fridgewater in it and can control where a fine(r) mist goes. I don't get drenched and don't have to stay back so far from the fan. If you're in a confined area, like an enclosed porch, you can always put a baby pool in front of it, between you and the fan and it will catch a lot of the water if you don't want your porch drenched. If you use the misting, freeze up some huge ice chunks along with the refrigerated water you put in your bucket. Cut half of a gallon or so water jug to make a large chunk of ice, it'll melt slower. Freezer gel packs can be put in the water too (if they fit). Take all paper/stickers off if you put them in the water so they don't come loose and gum up the water pump. I plan on eventually getting a well-insulated used cooler with wheels, drilling a hole for the water pump tube to go through, just set the fan on top of the cooler and then the icewater will stay colder longer.

24:49 if you have some other strong portable fans, you can always angle them (set them behind and slightly below the Ryobi) where they will help disperse the spray more. You want to vaporize the mist finely so you can get closer without getting as wet. You'll get more air coming at you, too, of course with more fans blowing at you.
