I like the fact that T B is fosusing more about design and why some things are as they are and Nacrit explores lore for the most part. Yeah it has nothing to do with ur comment but u've called T B Skyen so...
15:23 I saw an interesting thing here. Nasus isn't just trying to buy time for Ryze, he's also gathering his Q stack to oneshot the giant golem several minutes later
@@EroticInferno for a short amount of time it would just stun them, i’m pretty sure there was an issue with being stunned and an emote, which they sorted out shortly after
@@greekfire7980 It's a joke about how that sentence would sound outside of the context of this video, pretty sure we all know they're petrified (the video fucking explains it), you are the one acting like a smartass here
The visions aren't based on desires, but on the runes themselves, in the comic ryze's companion didn't see destruction, because she was holding a green rune; the resolve rune, which is all about life, and sustaining it. The red rune is the domination rune, which is used for dominating land masses
@@ME-hs7ll i actually made a comment about it and ill copy and paste it for you I have a theory the runes at the end of the video are actually the in-game runes Red: Domination Green: Resolve Purple/Blue: Sorecry Yellow: Precision and im assuming the empty case of the runes is where inspiration is suppose to be the teal one that gives you bisciuts. Well anyways each rune has 3 keystones and maybe when rune shards come into contact with all three they get to their full potential.
The 5 pedestals are for the 5 runes from the game, Ryze got the Domination rune in the cinematic. There is 1 rune missing, light blue - Inspiration. If you remember at start of S8 we got a login screen where a explorer (that looked suspiciously like Ezreal) was lifting his hand towards it. I bet that its Ezreal that has the final of the runes, he has Inspiration (fookin Kelptomany abuser.)
This aged so well because Viktor in arcane also misses the last rune, Inspiration in the hexcore. So Jayce and Viktor now about the runes ryze used when ryze saved Jayce's mother and also dont know about the inspiration rune.
@@zitsumo9140 The hell are you doing replying to my 3 year old comment??? Also yeah, i noticed that too Only 1 question for rito then... Where is inspiration?
Yeah, the final shot may show only 4 Runes even tho the lore says a total of 9, but it's fun how the colors are of the Runes in-game. Yellow - Precision, Green - Resolve, Red - Domination (w/c kinda explains Ryze's visions of power), and Blue/Purple - Sorcery. The 5th space looks like it needs a Blue Green Rune - Inspiration. Also, the champions cameo make up a full team: Nasus Top, Trundle Jg, Ryze Mid, Miss Fortune ADC, and Sona Support. Another thing I noticed too... Each Rune can be used by each champ: Nasus - Resolve (Grasp) Trundle - Precision (PTA) Ryze - Inspiration (Spellbook) Miss Fortune - Domination (DH) Sona - Sorcery (Aery) Anyway, just little things that I noticed about the cinematic :)
The 5 World runes are based of the In game runes.. And the inspiration rune is taken by some explorer as seen on the login screen. In that way Ryze's story prolonged. If he found the last rune and put it in the vault thats it his story is done but in this way its still going on.
HOly shit I never knew that League's lore was this deep. Like I just thought it was "Oh this champion is friends with this other champion" or "This champion is rivals with so and so" and then on to explain a little story about how each champ is special and powerful, but no... this shit is like an MCU level type of universe
Well well Ryze says once he has captureed all the runes he'll "die" Now Necrit says the runes are the source of all magic And Senpai Necrit also says the trees are draining the runes powers So when all runes are drained there will be no more magic As Ryzes body at this point is held alive by arcane magic that might be the reason why he says that he will die? I apologise for my bad english I am german btw
8:30 I think it's more likely that the tree where he's standing is the tree in the picture... and that it was probably the "world tree" where the rune shards originated from. The memorial was probably created after the people realized cutting it down was a mistake.
it does seem to suggest that the 5 pillars are the 5 rune trees we have in game to choose from, the last one missing would then be Inspiration. it would also make sense since the red rune would be Domination, and showing ryze a vision of him dominating and destroying everything.
"He can't tell enyone that he is looking for them and that's why he gets into these kind of conditions when he is talking to the natives- ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOARRRRRR" X,D "
12:20 "Ryze was on one such menial errand when he received word of a new cataclysm, this time to the southwest of Valoran, in Icathia. The mage rushed to the scene of the devastation, beset with concern for his master and friend, hoping that he had survived. Upon his arrival, Ryze was elated to find that Tyrus was indeed safe. But Ryze’s relief was short-lived. Next to the scroll he had never been allowed to read, sat two World Runes." probably this scene is before he founds his master
Necrit sometimes says that League's cinematics have changed visuals, just so they look better >18:18 Enemies aren't dancing on a serious-themed cinematic >Necrit "Possible rework?!"
I would watch/listen LoL: lore, stories, events etc. for days. So 35 min video full of info is just a piece of cake. Great job there Necrit, please continue giving us info which is hidden or is not obvious by the game/game-play itself.
please don't worry about how long the vids are we love the passion you have for the lore and it is probably why we love you so much keep it up looking forward to the next one
it would really blow some minds if the Watchers looked like Humans or Void-space Dragons like Aurelion Sol. Swain teased it with his interaction with aurelion.
I think if they make a movie..I think it is like star wars it has seasons and for the first movie they are going to focus on ryze becauss ryze is here in league since beta version and the second one is the famous battle of demavia and noxus the 3rd for the ninja's or noxus vs ionia so yeah sorry for bad english hope you understand
coming back to this i realize that this was the rune vision was actually twisting on his memories on how to stop the armies before his home was destroyed by using the rune but in actuality that was his master Tyrus where Ryze was standing was actually where he used the power of another rune to cause destruction in order to collect another rune found within the city before ryze confronted him
the runes that ryze has are literally the runes that you use in game. Precision, domination, resolve, sorcery, and then the one that ryze is missing and that you have to level up a bit in game inspiration
Holy shit, thank you so much, I love the fact that you think that this video was long but I myself don't have the time and or energy to deeply look into the lore (This is like a highlight video for me even though you basically addressed everything.) You are the best Necrit!
I have a theory that each of the shards is a keystone for all 5 rune types. Ryze found a domination shard in the cinematic. At the end we see he has collected one shard (or keystone) for precision, resolve, domination, and sorcery. One for inspiration hasnt been found yet. A speculation is that once you acquire all shards or keystones the shards will becomes it’s true world rune form, just like the shapes a see on rune pages.
That is so much great information!! I watched the cinematic thrice, yet this video shows me that I still missed so much. Especially that the map got updated! Riot is doing so much amazing stuff!
4:00 Ryze is heavily implying that petricite trees were created from a world rune transmuting a barren rocky plain into a massive magical forest. This is likely why the trees can absorb magic and look like stone. 21:58 You're not entirely accurate here. According to Vel'Koz's lore, the Watchers don't have a definite shape or appearance. In the Void, they're formless sentient beings. Only when they enter reality-as-we-know-it do they have a corporeal form. This happened to a group of them called the Frozen Watchers, so called after Lissandra trapped them in True Ice. Frozen Watchers are not voidborn ("spawn" of Watchers). They're a specific group of Watchers that traveled from the Void, became trapped in our reality, and then frozen in True Ice after Lissandra betrayed them. The lore is a little fuzzy on whether or not there might be other Watchers in our reality that aren't Frozen Watchers. 23:45 Ryze was the one who placed many of the rune shards around Runeterra. This was his initial plan to keep them safe by spreading them across the world, until he realized that the runes were starting to corrupt the environment around them and draw Runeterrans towards them. Thus, he switched his strategy to storing them in the petricite forest temple where only he (and possibly Ezreal) knows about. 24:30 Ryze did NOT put the Watcher in this chamber. According to an image of this scene in the universe site, the Watcher came here and was "drawn to the power of the World Runes." Lissandra's lore and lore of the Howling Abyss suggests that the Frozen Watchers still have some ability to navigate through the ice in the darkest depths of Freljord.
Necrit where je explains things by saying obscure and in depth lore stuff which no one understands so he basicly makes it more convoluted but thats why we love him
You talked about how the 4 runes shown in the demacian vault when combined as 5 might become a world rune. The only way I'd know that'd work is if ryze knew the vault was completely hidden however it was built by someone else, so him knowing if it might still be used or not seems unlikely to me. Because if was not sure about how well it was hidden and these rune shards could be combined to make a world rune, I feel like he wouldn't put them in the same place. What would seem really interesting to me is if the runes shards that need to be combined have the same color except different shapes, since the rune shards in the demacian vault seem to have quite similar shapes. That way he could hide rune shards with the same shapes in 1 place so that if one of the hidden places gets found / raided they would still not be able to combine them unless they've found all of the other hiding spots, however this way if someone found all of the hiding spots, they'd be able to combine all of the rune shards ryze has ever found \_0.0_/ not sure if this works with current lore btw havent been keeeping up lately
What do you think would happen if Glaio had possession of a rune shard? Since his body absorbs magic and he comes to life from this magic, would it be a way of eternal life?
I watched the whole thing, and btw is there a chance that the runes we have in league are part of/ the runes we see in his cinematic... the colours match perfectly
The woman to the far right on the engraving in the forest is carrying what appears to be an olive branch (or, I suppose it would be Runeterra's equivalent if they don't have those...), which are seen as a symbol of peace. My take on it is that two nations came together there to make peace with one another.
When I opened The Map of Runeterra there was also a place called "The Void" on the right side next to Piltover and Zaun, but now its gone again. I really wonder whats that about. I saw it after I was reading/exploring the new "books" that appeared with the Ryze Cinematic.
So the frozen watchers aren't just spawns then.. they have minds and they must be powerful enough to give Lissandra her powers since she's basically unstoppable
Consider them Velkoz that spawned in Feljord which on their own are powerful and intelligent , on the map , it's also stated that they are actually interested in the power of the world runes
It's also stated that The Watchers are actually Void Beings. So maybe Lissandra is getting her powers from the void but in a different way from Void creatures themselves ? Just a theory. Maybe the rebellion that brought the fall of the Watchers was just another fight against Void creatures like in Icathia.
I think each of those runes are one specific kind of magic like the red one for destruction, the green for life, the orange for protection or something like this
This is something about the frozen watchers: You said that the frozen watchers are spawns of the masters of the void and that made me think that the void adapts to its surroundings right? we also know that void has species for example rek'sai is part of the xer'sai species and so here is a small theory that the frozen watchers are void spawns of the vel'koz species and adapted to the cold. This would explain the similarities and yet why they are not one and the same.
The Watchers are confirmed to be Void Spawns. Not sure if Vel'Koz can be considered a Watcher even if the one in the cinematic is remarkably similar to it but it's food for thought
Ice wall? Maybe anivia sealed the frozen watcher? Or she's connected to the whole story some how? In anivias lore it's told about dark magic power beneath the ice and how anivia knew she need to do Something about it.. Brand is also connected to anivias lore and he is the one who tries to get the runes too!
richard enriquez I've already watched it, but I dont remember him saying anything about that. Only that their stories will be changed. But since their stories WILL be changed, why add them on the map in these specific locations NOW?
