On first watch of the cinematic I had to check out all of Olaf's part multiple times. (some view him as a lame lore character, overused trope etc) I don't care, fucking love the champion. (Not for gameplay, I fucking love characters like Olaf.
@@Thulgore his powers and strength and persona are actually something unique compared to every other character, like he got bored because nothing stood as a challenge against him, that shit is sick, he remind me of kratos and that's awesome bruh
I love how Necrit is teasing a lot of champions's "important role" in the Void event- But we have to remember that Yorick, Maokai, Hecarim and Kalista also had an "important role" in the Ruined King event
I think we can safely assume that Riot won’t fuck up an event’s story that badly again. They’ll make sure not to have 3 separate teams doing their own version of the story, and they’ll probably try to lean away from including certain champs just for the sake of selling skins.
Atreus fighting for Control over Aurelion Sol is such a Main Character Moment. Like he already survived fighting Aatrox then went ahead and fought in the Ruined King as he used his Ascended Form then now he is on his Way to fight a Dragon who creates World so he could control him and save the World. Atreus is a Main Character and everybody are just Side Character in the Void Event.
I would think that pantheon will make a deal with aurelion sol were he would help to destroy those who used his power (in other words relied on the power of a god) in Exchange for to leave Runeterra alone
Bruh, as much as i like to agree, SoL Ranth cannot be cannon and prestige ascended even less Also, Atreus would never control Asol, cuz that's what Pantheon did and he would hate that.
Maybe the comets that were falling are actually pieces of Asol crown, because in his story it says that his crown is slowly breaking because the aspects are fighting each other making the magic that controls Asol weaker. In the story, the crown pieces fall like comets from the sky, that would explain why they are a lot of them, Asol is finally getting free. Also, not only the aspect of war has control over Asol because he hears the voices of the others aspects giving him orders from the crown and because this voices started to argue with each other he's getting free. The aspects are fighting each other and not working together. Solari vs lunari, aspect of war dead, zoe Being childish and not taking seriously her job as aspect, etc....
Ornns appearance holds more value that one might think. He is shown at the start, in the middle and at the very end. It's he who starts the video and ends it, as if he is the narrator. It gives us the impression of him telling a story, of him being above it and observing it, while he himself is in his thoughts. He knows everything what's happening, and he has decided to once again take the cape of a hero. How do we know this? In first two shots of him he is shown forging - exactly what the champion is all about. If he was to be shown just cause, without a reason, he'd be forging all the way through the video - cause that's what he does. But he doesn't. As the cinematic closes he is done forging, for he has changed. His plans are different now. He isn't gonna let the world play out, for he is among the only few who know something out of this world is coming, and if they don't gather together, everyone and everything will die. That's why the cinematic is called "The Call", The Call Of the Ram God (the name of his ultimate)
*_Time. Space. Reality. It's more than a linear path..._* *_I am the watcher. I am your guide through these vast, new realities. Follow me, and ponder the question.. What if...?_*
" In first two shots of him he is shown forging - exactly what the champion is all about." Yo you are telling us that a Blacksmith that forges something is a special hint? Like - imagine - there is a forge. And a Blacksmith. And he forges a sword. Wow. Thats deep.
@@dogmatika7 no, the special thing is last appearance, in which he isn't forging anymore. He's done with it and plans to take his new weapon to the battlefield
I'm pretty sure the sword Ornn was forging was actually Molten Edge (the pre-season 11 upgrade of Infinity Edge), so I doubt Leona would be wielding it, but who knows, we'll have to wait and see.
Trn. The only frejlordian who uses swords. With an extreme crit focus in his kit. Who also would need a weapon strong enough to get revenge on aatrox in lore.
Ornn making weapons for champions would be a very bad decision from Riot, it would literally be the same thing they did to some other characters in the Ruination event. If Ornn made weapons for certain characters they would become extremely powerful in the lore, that's why they shouldn't do it. Imagine Olaf with axes made by Ornn, he could even melt true ice with them. The only way to return them to their normal power level is to take the weapons away from them, but then why did they even get it. This would be the same with the Ruination, because it wouldn't really continue the character's storyes. Look at Rengar for example, after he fought the black mist will he really just go back to Ixtal and continue hunting? Why was he even included in the event then? Sure he will remember it, but it doesn't make his character grow in any significant way. In my opinion characters should face enemies equal in power to them, and make the events in their own corresponding region. And I too think that Ornn forged the Infinity Edge in the cinematic!
Ornn is presented in the cinematic like a god, being shown throughout the entire cinematic, but he didn't do much at all, like a god overlooking the world. Also, he is forging a weapon, presenting him as a forge god. He is the first character shown in the cinematic, and the cinematic happened to be called The Call. Sound familiar? Call of the Forge God is Ornn's ult. Maybe this means absolutely nothing but it seems like too much of a coincidence.
I'm confused. Necrit said gods arent real in league universe, but then calls orn a god. So is he a god? If he's not, how can he make such powerful items?
@@tobias1438 Ornn is technically a demigod. I believe both me and Necrit were using the terms interchangeably. More specifically, Ornn is portrayed as a god in this cinematic, but he's not actually a god.
I'm afraid that they forgot Kassadin and Jax, both of then have fighting the void for such a long time, but in the end what matters is who is popular enough to sell skins :(
fr she's strong not only bc she survived the Void but also bc of how she continues helping the people of Shurima out of kindness and care for their well-being even when they see her as some sort of monster. just want her to have some sort of happiness like when lucian finally reunited with his wife. at least she has taliyaah as an ally though. I have a question: Kai'Sa is just falling as she proceeds to use shoot Reksai so does that mean she's gonna get stuck in the Void again or can she get out like leaving a room?
I feel like Aurelion's star was supposed to hit Leona. In his latest story, he said he feels the reigns weakening over time and he can actually disobey some commands now (he disobeyed the commands latest incarnation of pantheon 2 times but, on the 3rd command, he had to do what he was told). I believe he did this for his own fun, and acted like the command worked so he had freedom over where the star would go.
Tbh wouldn't it make even more sense for him to try and smite another possible iteration of Pantheon, rather than an aspect? I mean if he's mad about being controlled, he'd want to delay the other person regaining that control as quickly as possible. Then again it's also possible he tried hitting both of them.
Asol can break free any time he want but he didn't do it because he scared of what beyond the void. In the lore, when he go to fix the portal, he used his ult into the hole and it does nothing to the creature beyond it so he still obey the command and wait for the right moment.
Dude aurelion sol powers can ERASE the whole Mountain of Targon. If it was him who lasered Atreus the man would just be pure dust and same for léona. Dont forget that aurelion is like another galaxy over every character in the game.
I think the reason why she isn't using a gag is because she so filled with rage and determination to win to help her people that the pain is nothing in comparison to how she's feeling
it's not about that though it's the fact that it doesnt show her feeling pain. Though you can always argue that's due to adrenaline etc... IMO this kind of pain can't be ignored and should be showned but, why not ! Huge battle, lightnings etc... you can't stop yourself because of pain
Aurelion Sol's lore mentions that his crown was breaking and falling down like Comets. I think that is the "Stars". "As he cautiously circled back, he realized the magic that bound him was weakening. Flecks of gold began to fall from his crown, each one blazing across the skies like a comet."
Xolaani is almost definitely gonna be a champion. Like, they basically spell out her abilities in the story. She’s a healer ascended/darkin who uses blood magic. That’s something you can build a kit around.
Is it possible that Ornn in the cinematic is building a great weapon that he will one day unleash to remake the world like it was said in "The Lost Tales of Ornn". In the 5th chapter "The tragedy of the hearthblood" there is a quote that goes like this "Some say it is Ornn, lighting his furnace to keep the fires under the surface of the world from going out. Others say he is building a great weapon that he will one day unleash" and later on in the story when the question asked by the child “What do you believe happened to Ornn?” comes up, the response he gets is “I believe when the Great Builder returns, it will be to remake the world.”
My theory is that Kai'Sa is luring Rek'Sai against the new Void Champion. In the new story of her and Taliyah, it is revealed that a new species of Void creatures has appeared, shining with blue light instead of purple, and the Xer'Sai HATE these new creatures. So maybe Kai'Sa is trying to cause a royal battle between the Xer'Sai Queen and the new Void Empress :D
"blue light" Remember that "magnum opus" that Au Sol made? Could it be that Au Sol DESIGNED new void creatures in his image? Those had stints of blue light as well.
@@Valigarmanda Aurelion isn't associated with the Void. The void was there before existence and it was existence that awakened it. Aurelion is scared of the Void, so why would he make a new void species?
@@Valigarmanda I think this is a natural development of the Void. Cause, the whole theme about the Void is Evolution, they are constantly changing and adapting. So, what if, while the Voidborn champions are still doing their original stuff in Runeterra, things in the Void evolved beyond their original design/plans? Saying, instead of being "consume everything" it evolved into "conquer everything", cause now there's talks about "purple cities" and "rule everything" and an "Empress"
Theory: Asol's crown is deteriorating on a fast rate, the celestials on targon prime are on a panic, so much so that they want to make more aspects so that those aspects can take care of asol which is why the gate for targon prime was open, since the celestials want this process to happen on a faster rate they wouldn't do the climb mt targon's peak bs this time, so thats the reason for the gate opening, as for the comet that hit atreus,i think that was zoe trying to fend him off becuz she doesn't want atreus to set asol free. An alliance between asol and atreus is kinda likely since both hates the aspects/celestials sm.
Asol would never be free. if he successes to break himself free all living creature would be in danger. He would be an higher enemy than the void and an incredible opponent to pantheon. Maybe the only one that would survive all of this is Zoe. The only one that matches aurelion sol strength ( but not really) is mordekaiser but 1) he is in another realm 2) he is just not an ally. So him ( Aurelion sol ) teamming up with pantheon would be really unlikely.
It seems unlikely that it was Zoe, it makes more sense that it would just be A Sol doing that considering his entire shtick is smacking people with stars.
So after some digging on the new stories Aatrox "MIGHT" be the guy that destroyed the face of the statue we see on the cinematic when it goes to Taliyah and Kai'sa. It's a statue of Xolaani and it is said that the most vicious Darkin put her to sleep with one attack and destroyed the face of her statue. And if you look at the cinematic it eerily looks like something Aatrox's sword would do.
Actually it was most likely Aatrox. We need to remember that the dude is fucking massive and the slash going across the statue is obviously something done with a sword.
It was mentioned in the story that the Darkin didn't kill her with the blow, just laid her down for many centuries. Maybe my english is wrong but I don't think that means it killed her. It could have been Aatrox, but he is not that vicious, Rhaast is vicious, but sadly it can be a Darkin that was never even mentioned. We just don't have any information to assume it was Aatrox or Rhaast
@Necrit at 6:06 you can notice that the knees are bended to take up the weight of the ice, so that is why his size seems different than the previous frame. He is still a unit, but a crouched unit.
When pantheon ults you can kinda see a silhouette that looks like a dragon in the stars but it eventually melds out and just looks like a massive amount of stars
So, a few things I noticed: the stars that hit pantheon seam to come directly from the peak of the mountain and thay look a LOT like zoe's paddlestars amd it would make sense for her to be defending mount Targon from pantheon and not Aurelion Sol. Both him and Atrius hate the aspects after all, there could be a potential cooperation there. Lastly, Atreus seams to be able to call on the powers of the aspect every time he goes to war with a greater power, there could be something there for the future
Atreus would never ally himself with A Sol, he hates all things non-human (EDIT: divine/nearly all the Aspects). Meanwhile A Sol wouldn't even recognise his existence 😂 would be exciting though
@@DrAlchem01 I think it’s less that he hates non-humans and more that Aurelion Sol is a god who sees mortal lives as insignificant and expendable. I don’t think Atreus would see him as any better than the aspects.
@@kerresft8745 lmao yeah reading that back it looks *super* racist 😂 huh well TIL. I thought he was just done with the whole idea of gods/Aspects and that humans don't need them. I guess there are a few he doesn't mind
12:43 The sword Ornn smithed is the Infinity Edge or rather the Molten Edge. The design of the guard, the gem in middle and along with the glowing rune markings that is visible on the blade proves it. If by chance Ornn will be involved in the void event it is because he is going to travel to the Middle of Shurima to dip the sword into the magical pool in order to bless the sword with the sharpest edge. Well that is just a theory but everything just lines up perfectly if you think about it.
I love how Riot is starting to portray Freljordians as what they truly are. Before you could tell from their stories that they were massive and very physically powerful people, but between Olaf in this cinematic and how burly the Udyr rework is, they're starting to hit the nail on the head.
@@shortsforfun458 yeah they already said that alot of the stuff will get delayed to 2022 like the champion releases, skins and that includes udyr rework and others.
Could you imagine of Pantheon went to the Star to actually free Asol? I know I know, he hates the gods but listen to this: Both him and Asol were forced to the will of the Aspect of War. Just imagine him rising to the stars not to strike down the dragon but free his chains
Wouldn't asol wipe out the entire planet from existence the moment he's freed? Would pantheon want that? Would he be practical? Or no comprimise even in the face of armegeddon.
Ornn crafted the Infinity Edge; you can see the "triangular, edged" tip when he tempers the sword in water and a similar guard and runes when he finishes the sword. It's a teaser like Tear of The Goddess in the Warriors cinematic.
I don't know why Viktor was teased but It could mean 3 things to me 1. He could get a story this year maybe relating to the Chem baron 2. Just put him up there because of arcane 3. Somehow he'll also relate or be a part of the void event?
Ok but if Void 'event' is coming, and it's not just singular champion release thing then Im gonna ask for all the Void Figheters to actually do something (looking nervously at Zilean and Jax)
I think Jax is more likely the new VGU, Zilean is in his tower after all, he can't leave it. Honestly it is never mentioned that he can leave his tower, but I assume he doesn't go to other places because he is bound to it. Jax on the other hand is freely roaming around Runeterra, so it would make more sense if he helped to fight the void back in Shurima
I think there are too many champions fighting the void for all of them to have a major role. Eventaully, it's like 8 different teams fighting against the void in their own ways, and one (or few) of them are gonna be in the lead, the rest will be just side roles. Hopefully, their side roles will be more than Yorick's brief mention in the non-canon client novel.
I really hope the event doesn't put an end to the Void plotline and we only get a small taste of it. The Void should be THE Endgame of the francize and is better suited for the up-coming MMO.
They will drive the void back and close many rifts, they will not destroy it, the cannot destroy it. It will come back in other events in the very distant future.
It is impossible to this be the end of the Void, the writers at Riot know what they are doing. I assume it will be just a minor battle against the void, not a war
@@tamas9554 Which is what I'm hoping for. Riot proved themselves with Arcane and other stories, but then I look at the Ruination and it's just... Let us hope for the best I guess.
@@thelastcrow5660 Ruination doesn't matter, Riot rarely misses the mark with their storyes, the Ruination being one of the few. Riot proved that they could build a very detailed and beautiful world even before Arcane
One thing I haven't seen being noticed is the metaphoric meaning behind Ornn's forging scene. That is how only through getting beaten can the characters be made stronger, similar to how in order to harden the blade, Ornn beats it with a hammer before quenching it.
3:05 even though they would be called celestials or aspects in the game, I feel like Aurelion Sol, Bard, and Kindred are definitely worthy of being considered gods
A very cool detail In the cinematic that I've seen no one talk about is that while Pantheon and Leona are fighting, you can actually see, in the background corner the storm rampaging above Freljord
Ngl the sword that ornn forged looks extremely similar to the infinity edge, so in this case it would be more correct to call it the molten edge. The guard is basically identical and the fact that the blade has runes on the flat part matches as well
With the Viktor tease at the end I wonder if he's going to get some treatment that Miss Fortune got a while ago, where their in-game model stays the same but the splash arts get updated. I theorize this simply due to Viktor's teaser image being an updated version of his splash art.
Personally, I believe Atreus was headed to The Peak to travel to the actual Celestial Realm. He could be on a quest to harness the full power of the now-not-so-much-alive Aspect of War. Also, really really hoping we get to see Ornn fight a Frozen Watcher. What better ending to the event can there be? :D
I find it likely that Atreus headed to the celestial realm for a reason, but Ornn fighting a Watcher? A Watcher COULD only be destroyed by an entity like Aurelion, Orrn is very powerful compared to other beings in Runeterra, but a Watcher would obliterate him
7 months later and with the release of bel veth im still waiting for that void event. ah well, maybe after the weeb event that they never will make into a actual anime.
I'm going pretty cospiracy on the Artreus part of the cinematic but isn't is interesting how he gets hit by possibly starfire and doesn't even have as much as a scratch? Also Leona jumps to the side while having the shot coming from her back, I think she knew that the barrage was coming since....why would the one with the back turned on the canon see the bullet faster than the one the shot is coming straight for? Anyway, what if Aurelion was ordered to shoot down Pantheon so he doesn't reach the mountain but gave some kind of information to Pantheon on how to get closer to his goals by finding Sol? Isn't it weird how Pantheon flies straight for the stars instead of reentering the fight with Leona or even remotely going for Mt.Targon? I think Sol realized that something weird happened to his old Nemesis Pantheon, maybe he even found out that the actual Aspect is dead and now he wants to allie with the person that now wants to destroy Targon just as much as he does,
In the cinematic there's a close up shot of pantheons eyes focusing on fighting Leona and for a split second he looks up. Then it cuts to Leona, brows furrowed and then she dodged. Leona didn't know it was coming, pantheon basically inadvertently warned her about it by focusing his gaze on it. Besides Leona is also a god like panth. So yeah, they can do superhuman things. Like maybe she can sense the heat coming from it. Since the sun is a star. And sol just shot a star at panth.
Doesn't really make sense why would the aspects order Aurelion to stop Atreus from reaching the peak, but not ordering him to help defeat the darking or the void rift that opened in Icathia or other parts of Runeterra
@@tamas9554 Because non of them got close enough to the mountain, the only way into the celestial realm. The last time someone came close enough to being a direct threat (Aatrox), War came down himself and we all know how that turned out. Reducing all direct defensive operations to simply defending the front gate into their realm while by that also minimizing the risk that comes with the "use" of Aurelion seems pretty reasonable. Defend the gates, simple stuff.
@@kunibertrandolf1886 This theory would make sense if we had any evidence, but sadly we got no storyes for Targon. Until then I could even say that Kayle will fight Pantheon in the celestial realm, because we know nothing
Olaf had his knees bent when the ice hit him because his legs could break otherwise, but he was massive compared to the others in the first appearance. Just thought you should know.
Imagine if victor was the champ all along, and this was a teaser for his rework, so they update him to the arcane lore with shimmer accross his body, GLORIOUS EVOLUTION
Leona saw the reflection of the falling star in Pantheon's eyes, she breaks the stalemate and pulls back just before the star hits... Pantheon is taken aback by her sudden retreat, and only just barely gets his shield up before taking the blast which knocks him from the mountain... in that scene of him getting hit you can see Leona scrambling back further onto the plateau.
Boy it feels so sad to watch this vid in 2023 with the benefit of hindsight and hearing Necrit theorize about the Void event and all the cool things that could happen in it when in fact we didn't get any of those things and 2022 was as exciting as a slightly humid and lukewarm piece of bread that's been sitting on the counter for 2 days when it comes to events in League lol
I know people meme about this, but wouldn't it be cool if Jax seeked out Orn to craft him a " REAL weapon" so he can march against the void along with his recruits?
I think riot won't be able to do the Void event in 1 season. Void is the most impactful and most dangerous threat across Runeterra and it would be weird if some 2 demi-gods fighting would be of help against the watchers which even weakened ASol was afraid of. There are 2 reasons which might be why Riot is tuning down their work, The first one would be that they are scared of doing the same thing that happened in the Ruination OR they are planning something as big as the Ruination (or probably even bigger) but better.
It could be, but at the same time it'd be weird for Riot to release the supposed big bad of the void event and not do the event itself for a long ass while. Even though Viego came out early last year and Ruination was only during the summer, it still happened in 1 season. Only way I can see it happening is if the event itself will be so massive they'll have to cut it in two parts. First part which will include the Void Empress will unravel during this season, and at the end as they take her down, the battle in Freljord between Sejuani, Volibear and possibly Ornn might reawaken a watcher, which will lead into the second part involving Lissandra and more powerful forces like Asol, Aspects etc.
Asol wasnt afraid of the void. He was referring to him sensing fear from the aspects for the first time as he disobeyed their commands and even evaporated pantheon. They witnessed him talking control which meant their started losing their grip on him.
If there was a void event it wouldn't be a massive fight against it. Most likely the new voidborn champ will try to attack a city and devour it, most likely Belveth. The void is supposed to be the biggest and latest enemy Runeterra will face, entire nations uniting to finally end the Watchers. But that is very, very far away
I agree .... But maybe THIS is the the 1 big scale attack from the void .... A tease of how runaterra will fight .... And if they get repelled .... Hope some one talks sense into mordekaiser, pantheon befriends aurelion and the sentienls wake Viego up Beacuse runaterra will need absolutely everything to stand a chance against the void Also remember that all voidborne are weak when they cross out of his dimension so is not crazy that they can repell the first big attack even with the empress
@@vergil9981 I dont think it will only stay at trying to repel the void borne, because in the hollow spun short story (the story before Taliyah and Kai'Sa met and went to Xolan) there was a kind of void borne called the LampLights by Kai'Sa that makes the hatchlings and callers stronger by giving the others a glow. but what doesn't make sense is that the Dunebreaker (also a voidborne) sees the LampLights as enemy and starts to chase the power away. (i think the dunebreaker also went and kill the ones that received the glow) So it might not only be the void that is the problem here.
Atreus and kratos would be best buddies Ornn is definitely preparing for something, specially if humans want to fight volibear, he might help Kai'sa is likely able to get out of the void so she don't mind to dive and drive reksai into the void
Maybe and just maybe, Atreus might be able to strike a deal with ASol, help him be freed from the control in exchange for ASol closing the rifts, the god manipulated the creator, the man will struck a deal with him, also I wish we get a cool explanation as to why Atreus is being targeted, his ability to harness Pantheon's power for himself may mean that there is a way the celestials could bring Pantheon back using Atreus
Love the cinematic, my favourite tbh and specially because: Panth = 1 of my 3 mains, been playing Sejuani these days and her lore is really cool, love Leona, the freljord Gods and I used to play Olaf
The new champion could be a uber corrupted darkin, a reference to what Aatrox says to void champs where he wonders if they are what he will inevitably become
Man the entire time i was watching this video and you mentioned a void event i was thinking of the good ole odyssey event. Hope we can get another PVE event because they are so enjoyable to play, imagine augmented ornn or leona super cool
I kinda hope they do not shut down completely the void. And I'm so excited to see what lissandra is gonna do. Other question, is ornn gonna forge true ice for liss? Lol. I want to see lisssandra and her plans in action.
