It's mind boggling how far the iGPUs have evolved in the last 5-6 years thanks to AMD's Ryzen series. Who would've guessed back in 2015 that you can game in FullHD contemporary games with a budget iGPU? Yes, you have to cut some corners here and there, but still it's a stunning achievement technologically.
And U Ryzen series are low power ones unlike H series... Still, you get free GPU... Some games allowing reducing dynamic resolution, and this is where sharpening filtering comes in... Even some programs allowing to set resolutions beetweeen 900p and 1080p for exp... I think custom resolution in AMD Radeon software center can do this, Sapphire Trix can do it...etc.
@@skygames1990 But for a Thin and Light this is amazing to me at this price, I paid 599.99 plus tax N free shipping you can't beat the performance. Just 3/4 years ago you had to pay like $1200 to get this level of performance in a laptop. And 5 years ago it was way worse..

damn this vid helped me a lot i am gonna plan on playing the witcher 3 and assassins creed valhalla and i am glad i watched this video also i am glad i can play resident evil 3,forza horizon 4,csgo ,gta 5 ,nsf heat with good fps, great vid
some people forget to take into fact that they probably play on the 13 to 17 inch display where 720 and 1080p dont seem that much different from each other. the smaller the display the more aceptable 720p gets. the smartphone for example I watch most of the yt videos on 480-1080p I mean 480 is okey and I am not gonna complain but if it can get better why not right? same goes for the Notebooks where you will find this cpu in. 720p 60fps is okey but some games like Val for example where you can even play it with 1080p 60fps high is just a big bonus if yyou ask me
yet 4k smarphones exist...for some reason..........i never seen one myself but i bet they have the pixel density of a 50in 16k tv who will come out somewhere like 2028-2030

i have a amd ryzen 5 5500u with radeon graphics 2.10 ghz 8 gb ram how did u run microsoft flight simulator??? i thought it runs pretty badly ...pls reply at the earliest
This is true if you have a lenovo or dell laptop. I personally have a lenovo laptop with r5 5500u and yes you can tweak the bios to some extent but hp locks down the bios in their hardware with exception of old hardware so you cant really access the advanced setting in hp laptops to tweak the tdp.
Hi...I wanted to know whether the Vega iGPUs in HP laptops are actually allowed to boost all the way up to the full turbo boost speed. I've heard that HP locks down the maximum GPU frequency in the bios. Could you check the frequency of the iGPU while playing these games? Thanks!
The Witcher 3, I can confirm you can infact do 720p30 at high/ultra settings and most post processing on. Played 200 hours of that since I bought an ASUS Vivobook with the Ryzen 5 5500U Edit: The Witcher 3 Next Gen update is still playable, just barely. You can still do 720p30 with all post processing settings enabled, but don't expact the game to look good in any way. Having any other graphical setting enable just kills the framerate, even if it's the lowest setting smh You're better off getting a capable PC. I'm glad I played Witcher 3 when I did
@@T3nyys0n It's been a hot minute since I played Witcher 3, but I'll do my best to remember what settings there were -I left all the Nvidia settings off -The textures, LoD, and others were cranked up to maximum. KEEP THE SHADOWS AT LOWEST. Shadow settings lag in every game! -NPC count was maxed out. It varied tho, sometimes I had to turn it down smh -In post processing, the only thing that wasn't enabled was Anti Aliasing. It lagged and looked bad in 720p -Turning on Hardware cursor solved the extremely laggy cursor, too. Wish every game used Hardware cursor. Especially Terraria. Doesn't matter if you have 69fps or 420fps, input lag will always be significantly noticeable Note: My laptop has Windows 10 LTSC 21H2. It's a very minimal Windows, and the best choice of OS for gaming. My laptop is optimized to run the best it possibly can. This is also without increasing TDP. I also use an external cooling system (Klim Cool+, highly recommend) which has somewhat impact on performance
@@rasecfishwhisperer2039 I have tried playing Dark Souls 3 on this CPU/iGPU. I cam confirm, it cannot handle it at all. Unless you're good with 12fps at minimum possible settings Sekiro could sort of manage 30fps at lowest possible setrings, 60fps if you look at nothing. It was all over the place, especially in combat it went under 30fps. Idk about Dark Souls 2. Dark Souls Remastered can do maximum settings at 900p60. I just keep depth of field off and play the game at 1080p60 highest settings Elden Ring was like 11fps, but I think the settings reset when I entered the game smdh I think it was 11fps at 1080p smh. It might've been able to handle it better than DS3, but I couldn't be sure. My friend refunded it and it closed the game right away lol
One doubt, did you use the Ryzen Controller to keep the temperature stable, or is it already preset to maintain a temperature around 70ºC? I'm thinking of buying a laptop with an AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Vega 7, and I don't know if I need to install the Ryzen Controller and put a limit of 75ºC or if it's already set to not exceed that temperature, without having to modify anything.
Bro una pregunta la Hp 15-ef2126wm son las mismas especificaciones cierto estuve investigando y trae lo mismo crees que esa versión sería igual que está y me de el mismo rendimiento? Agradecería mucho tu respuesta bro!
Almost bought a 5500u laptop, really wanted a laptop with just 1 gpu since I've had issues with Linux and dedicated vs integrated graphics, but i ended up finding a 10300h and gtx 1650 laptop on sale for the same price as most 5500u laptops. I still want a 13-14 inch very lightweight laptop in the future so maybe I'll end up with a 6xxx or 7xxx Ryzen laptop. I just couldn't bring myself to spend the same money for 30fps gaming on the 5500u vs the 60fps gaming from the gtx 1650.
@@PCSupportGamingTest I got hp14s1030au laptop , I will increase it to dual channel 16gb afterwards, so the performance will be same as in the video right? Because other youtubers were not even able to play gta 5 on the same laptop and couldnt get constant 30fps on single channel 8gb ram
Should I buy this one or acer aspire 7 ryzen 5500u GTX 1650 ? And which is better for gaming ? The prices are similar on both hp and acer , pls reply . I actually need to buy it in the coming weekend
I currently own hp 14s 1030Au And its still has 8gb ram Watching your video looks like there's huge improvement with adding one more 8gb ram to it and how much did you paid for 8 gb ram
In my lenovo IdeaPad 3 with R5 5500u out of 8gb ram, 2 gb is allocated to the gpu so only 6 gb ram is usable. Did the same happen to you after installing 16gb ram? is only 14 gb ram available to you too?
Hey, great video BTW.. Also I've seen videos of HP 14s fq1092au reviews and benchmarks...it has ryzen 5 5500u cpu...however in every video i've seen it could not run in 1080p..why is that even though it has same cpu as this? Please reply
Bro can you help me which laptop to buy HP 14 Ryzen 5 5500U with 512 SSD and 8 GB ram or Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 512 SSD and 8 GB ram. Which one is better?
I think a lot games which gives 25 fps around in this type of labtops causes cpu throttling too soon so, it's gonna be a half of an hour experience and need to be closed to avoid overheating.
Are you still using this unit? Is it still good? I'm planning to buy Ryzen 5 5625u but on the more cheaper HP 15s, unlike on your 5625u vid where you use more expensive HP Pavilion 15. And I'm wondering if HP 15s line up can last long.
Does your laptop have dedicated graphics card? because i have the same laptop with 16gb ram variant and it doesn't have it so I've never tried gaming on it
Nice, I'm getting a Laptop for school and feared I'll have the same experience as with the iGPU of the i5 5200 (I never researched how iGPUs perform compared to dedicated GPUs, because I got myself a high end PC) and some of the games here are already in my library, so I know what to expect. Edit: I realized I wrote i5 5500 instead of i5 5200, also, the assumption wasn't based in the fact, that they have the same number, just that they're both APUs.

Hey brother, I have been recently testing a DELL Inspiron 5415 ( Ryzen 5 5500U with 8GB 3200 (Single Channel) + 512GB NVMe SSD ) and it turns out I'm not getting much performance from the machine! I'm sure Ryzen 5500U can do much better but in GTA V it gets me max 30fps and resolution doesn't go above 800x500 ( saying not much video memory available ). Even when I tested Adobe Premiere pro, while exporting GPU is hardly utilized ( even with GPU Acceleration selected to OPENCL )!! What is your take on this and can you help me out as I have to upload the review of the laptop soon!! [ I have download and install all the latest drivers as well ]
Bro go to the graphics setting and on 2 or 3 no. You will see graphics suggestion or something like that (something written as suggestion )just turn it off and you will be able to play it in 4k
@@sagitarrius7054 It is best to put matching ram sticks in. I personally would not put an 8GB and 4 GB stick in together if you are looking for performance. You want dual channel so the two ram sticks can work together.
So eta prime's vid for the 5500u says that you can run genshin impact at 1080p medium low and get 60 but here we have 720p low at 56fps? I trust eta prime more. It's likely none of this is accurate
Bruv, read the description. He s using HP 15S compared to Ideapad 3. Its most probably due to thermal limitations + bios limitations of HP 15S vs Ideapad 3. Ideapad 3 ETA used has a performance mode in bios that pushes the CPU to 30W, and this one stays most probably at 15W + bios is locked for sure.
Damn first time commenting on anything in YT with some actual knowledge, I m proud of myself :D mostly due to the fact that I bought Ideapad 3 yesterday and I was deciding between him and HP 15S xD HP 15S has a locked bios like my outgoing Acer Aspire 3, effectively cucking the performance to the max + awful cooling solution tbh

Did you upgrade it and add 8gb of ram? I thought that that particular laptop didn’t allow upgrades? Can you add extra ram on the hp-15-ef2127wm? Also does adding that 8gb improve performance?

Nice Video! Im about to buy the HP Laptop 17-cp0756ng. This Video is about the Things in this Laptop right? And can you uprgrade the RAM on this Laptop?
You mentioned in a reply to someone's comment that you were running the APU at TDP of 25W ( for which I suppose you used a 3rd party software ) . Were you using a cooling pad or sitting in an air conditioned room / cool environment ? It's surprising the temperature stayed between 70-80°C. Would it harm the APU a lot if I run it at a 25 watts? Because the stock TDP is set at 15 watts so maybe laptop's cooling system isn't sufficient for 25 watts. Lastly, would it help to bring down the temperature and power consumption if I limit the FPS between 30 and 45 using AMD adrenalin ? I have a HP 15S-EQ2144AU . It's 3 months old and I haven't played a single game on it yet, but I will start gaming on it in a few months and I want the laptop to work for 5 years at least. That's why I am asking all these questions so that I can play games without decreasing it's life to a great extent.

For video editing it's better to choose the i5 + NVIDIA especially for Adobe Premiere/After Effects because of NVIDIA'S CUDA feature that can accelerate the rendering process. However if you use other editing programs that need the raw power of the CPU (not GPU) then choose the Ryzen because it's more powerful on the CPU side
