One pretty good fan option with the C14S is to use a 120mm fan, maybe the NF-A12X25, on the closer side to the CPU. Then you can probably fit a 120mm fan up top, also, the side panels could now accept two 120 or 140mm fans, in this case I might go with the Phanteks T30 fans, the left one blows directly at the C14S and the right one can exhaust or intake to see whether you prefer GPU thermals or less dust inside your case. This used to be the case with many NR200 builds, but I am not sure if the top left fan could still fit with this motherboard. My B550I Pro AX from Gigabyte has the problem with a slightly higher CPU socket and prevented many tower heatsinks from clearing the top fan, which is why I went with an AIO.

I built a PC in this case, I love it, I've used Arctic liquid freezer ii 280, it barely fits, it was necessary to remove one edge to fit radiator inside. And also I used 2 noctua A12-25 fans at the top, 2 arctic P12 at the bottom. The build works almost silent. Motherboard ASRock x570, CPU Ryzen 9 5950x, GPU Radeon RX 6600. And I overclocked the CPU btw, via pbo 2. Cinebench r23 scores around 30000 points. Single thread 1650 or so.

Nice build bud, I also like cramming big components into small cases, my system is also inside nr200p with ATX PSU using an adapter, ryzen 5600x with a cooler master 120mm aio, and my gpu is Sapphire Nitro+ RX 5700xt, it’s a tight fit but all crammed good, with ok airflow, 4x 120mm fans 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom, the aio pulling air in from the back. 😊

I have an almost identical build but I’ve noticed none of the usb 2.0 (black) ports on the strix x670e-i appear to work. Is my board broken or is there a bug or setting keeping them from working? All usb ports are enabled in the BIOS. I’m also not using the FPS-II card on this board.
@ultraprecisiontechnologies
@ultraprecisiontechnologies Год назад
I just checked and all my black usb 2.0 ports are working. The FPS-II shouldn’t affect this at all. If you are unsure if you did something to disable them, you could try loading optimized defaults in bios, also make sure you have all your chipset drivers installed, AMD has an auto detect and install tool you can download on their drivers page.

Soo what are the general noise levels in use like? I’d like to get this board and processor with a n rtx 4070 ti, but I’m worried about noise levels. I’m planning to run mostly flightsims and fusion360. I’m aware I could undervolt and underclock, and could get the cpu down to 125w/55C, but I don’t know if I’m an itx case that is enough to make it quiet

This is one of the roomier itx cases out there, with good cooling. I would expect you to have no problems having those specs in this case and having it quiet.

Given the NR200P options, the better way would've been both sides mesh with side mounted 280mm AIO in an intake role... then the sides would be filled completely, and less showing... but the potential for perf negligible difference between this and a big tower could be the way to go.
@ultraprecisiontechnologies
@ultraprecisiontechnologies Год назад
I feel like you’re not wrong, a 280mm aio would likely offer better performance. When I was planning this build, I wanted to use a air cooler as I honestly couldn’t even remember the last time I used one. And the way this air cooler fits in this build is just satisfying to me lol.

Right now I am using the B550I Pro AX from Gigabyte with the 5950X, and I have to say the whole experience with the software and BIOS is underwhelming for this board even though it has one of the beefiest VRM of an ITX board from the B550/X570 lineup. Also, I have no USB ports left on my board even when I got a Type-C hub. What do you think about the 7950X and the X670E-I so far? Do the Asus BIOS make enough sense for me to change the whole CPU/MB/RAM combo out and repurpose the 5950X to an overkill secondary machine? Especially when the 7000 series is on sale for this short time?
@ultraprecisiontechnologies
@ultraprecisiontechnologies Год назад
What is the software / bios not doing, or what is it missing that makes it underwhelming? This 7950x / x670e-I setup is pretty fricken expensive and I would hate to recommend something only to have you be unhappy still?
@che-weihsieh975
@che-weihsieh975 Год назад
@@ultraprecisiontechnologies it’s mainly the software. I’m running the TUF 3090 with a Gigabyte board but I’m not a fan of RGB. I don’t want to have to download two pieces of bloatware to turn off the lights and Gigabyte throws in extra crap with their outdated RGB software. Well the truth is I'm probably going to upgrade anyway, just want to know If there is anything I have to worry about with this combo inside a small form factor case?
@ultraprecisiontechnologies
@ultraprecisiontechnologies Год назад
@@che-weihsieh975 the whole Rgb software situation as a whole is a crap shoot. The nice this is going with any Asus board is that you’ll only need 1 piece of bloatware across your motherboard and gpu to control lighting (armoury crate, or you can try to use aura sync stand alone an older version, but it’s not as up to date and less reliable.) I think the main thing to consider is taking a long hard look at the b650e-I and x670e-I spec sheets and deciding if you’re going to use enough of the x670e-I features to justify its premium price tag. As far as space considerations go, it’s really just the FPS 2 breakout-board for the I/o that plus into the motherboard that you may run into some issues using in some cases but I go over that briefly in this video and in my board overview video for the x670e-I
@che-weihsieh975
@che-weihsieh975 Год назад
@@ultraprecisiontechnologies I took a look at the B650E-I, while having all the ports on the board itself is great, the SPDIF output means that I get to hook up my receiver with no problem, and that it also has an on-board 2 pin temperature sensor plug, I would still go for the X670E-I for the vast amount of IO ports and no back M.2 SSD (sandwich cases do not like that very well). I do wonder would there be a true successor to the Crosshair Viii Impact though. I would choose that over the Strix even though it is going to be way more expensive. Having the Q-code readout for trouble shooting is better than the LED lights, but still much better than having none or all blocked up in a case.

I mean gen 4 nvme are already incredibly fast, but theoretically yes you could get some sort off speed boost out of raid 0, but when I was looking into this a while ago I ultimately decided it wouldn’t be worth it, the minor speed increase was not worth the reduction in reliability if something happened to the raid itself or one of the drives experienced a failure.
