Before coming to São Paulo we never imagined that it would be famous for its pizza! But so many people told us we had to try São Paulo pizza while we were in the city, and that it rivals Italian pizza. So we set out on an adventure to try a few different pizzas throughout the city.
To start things off we went to Veridiana Pizzeria, which can be found in the Jardins area of São Paulo. We tried two pizzas, one Margherita and the other was a vegetarian pizza called Do Nonno. They had an option for crusts so we ordered one with thick crust and one thin.
The next two pizza places were in the Vila Madalena neighbourhood of São Paulo.
The first one was the most unique called Marias e Clarices. Here they make their crusts with beer, and you’re given a few different options of what type of beer you’d like your crust made with. We again opted for two pizzas, a Margherita made with an IPA crust and pizza named after the restaurant with a Weiss crust.
Lastly we went to another well known pizza place in Vila Madalena called Carlos Pizza. Again we tried two pizzas, a Margherita and another named after the restaurant (Carlos).
All the pizzas we tried in São Paulo we’re absolutely amazing and definitely up there with some of the best pizza we’ve ever had!
