Eating Brazilian Snacks! With the help of our friend from Sao Paulo we grabbed a whole bunch of Brazilian snack foods to try out.
We tried a whole bunch of different types of candies, from odd spongy, fluffy things to chocolate to peanut flavours to banana chews. Did we enjoy them? You’ll have to watch to find out.

Plenty of your comments, guys, hit on the "plenty of sugar" key. Indeed, Brazilian candy tends to be almost cloyingly sweet, because Brazil is one of the largest sugarcane producers in the world (and back then when those candy were created, all the sugarcane was used for sugar-nowadays, there is a great deal of that produced sugarcane that goes into making ethanol for industrial and transportation uses as automotive fuel).

Sugar is super cheap so most of popular candy in Brazil is just a bunch of sugar with something. The best deserts are the ones from Portugal or Italy.

"Pingo de Leite": once again Anna hit it on the head: it is 'dulce de leche', but Brazilian doce de leite is made a little bit differently: Argentinian/Uruguayan dulce de leche is made with a bit of sodium bicarbonate to cut down on the acidity of the milk, while Brazilian doce de leite does not (hence the flavos being a bit different).
