In this special episode of Shooting & Country TV (S&C TV), we join airgun shooter Matthew Gleaves at the Airability Live event, held at Glevum Target and Sports Club.
Airability started as a Facebook group and RU-vid channel with the aim of getting as many people involved in benchrest shooting as possible, and to share the incredible inclusivity of airgun shooting as a sport - it doesn't matter if you are old, young, rich, poor, able bodied, disabled, male, female or other! Benchrest is truly a sport for all, and one that can be practised in your garden at home!
Learn everything there is to know about the sport, including: What is benchrest shooting? How is benchrest shooting scored? What kit do you need to start benchrest shooting? And where you can go to find out more and get involved.

I live in Aus, but it is just the same over here. Just get involved no one judges. I have just shot my first National after 1 year shooting out here. Didn't win but didn't come last. It's a great sport for people of all abilities. Learn to read the wind and everyone can be a winner. Great Content!

Great stuff, my teacher at school always said you can't spell disability without ability, and their is no such thing as a disabled person only a person with a disability. That had stuck with me my hole life. Looked like a great weekend well done all.

That must have been very empowering to hear as a youngster. My headmaster in primary school used to take pleasure in telling the class how much time I spent ‘off school’ with ‘bunkeritus’. It’s because of him that I know that I spent more time in hospital than I did in primary school! Back in the 70’s, it was almost drummed into us to be apologetic for being disabled. A trait that, 50 years on, is still hard to shake off. Outside of my immediate family, I had to work so hard in everything I did to prove myself as capable. Now that my disability has taken over, I have had to retire early and this is my single biggest disappointment in myself, that I could not get to retirement. At least it helped me rediscover shooting. 🙂
