Great analysis. I can tell you watched the show with a careful eye. I think someone commented on this a while back. But Kazuma's and Ryuho had a really satisfying rivalry. In a lot of other shows the rivals are ridiculously uneven, but with Kazuma and Ryuho there was plenty of intense push and pull. And man, those sound effects at the end of their last fight were crazy good. You could hear fists grinding into flesh & organs. It hurt just from hearing it!
My favorite Scryed chracter was Kazuma. He will go down as one of the most masculine, bad-ass anime heros ever..... the anime heros these days are whimps compaired to him.
one of my most favorite opening anime songs. I love how the opening kept changing in the series of the whole 26 episodes and have three version maybe for na its 3 kazumas, ryuhous, and the Kazuma and Ryuhou version. Even though they really down graded Kazumas and Kimishimas appearence compared to there manga looks this series we always be one of my favorites of all time
I was listening to a spanish guitar song then said I love spanish guitar. Then I type in S Cry Ed and the song opens with a spanish guitar. ITS SO MEANT TO BE~!
****Spoilers**** At first, it was all fun and games i think. They were both smiling, complementing each other and even joking around. Like they forgot why they fought, and only knew they had to. But i think as the battle progressed, the flame got lit again. To the they were walls to each other and they both wanted to destroy it to move on. At the end of the fight, there was no honor technique skill power or talent. Just 2 men fighting to the death, using whatever means necessary.
I've been reading comments online and apparently Ryuho ALSO clenched his fist, so it's very hard to tell. My opinion is that it's up to the viewer about who won and lost. One thing I don't get though is the stuff AFTER the credits. Like, what the heck was up with Kazuma's wife? I wish there would've been ONE more episode. Like, how many years had passed, was Ryuho still apart of that place or were him and Kazuma on the same side? I know I tend to overthink and think too much, but I'm one of those people who hates questions not being answered lol.
Basically Ryuhou and Kazuma kind of form a justice group along with Kanami and Cougar, as well Mimiru. Cause there are those types that will start to crop up after Holy was eliminated. They also try to defend against the Mainland being arseholes. Basically think Neo-Holy, but they are more like decent police in that they only go after alter users that abuse their powers and well spread suffering.
SPOILER ALERT!! I think Kazuma won the fight in the end, symbolized by his signature fist clench when the credits started rolling. I get the impression that the creators wanted to use his fist clench to symbolize how Kazuma's burning will to never give up gave him the slightest edge over Ryuho. That's my interpretation anywho. :-)
@commandergs I was wondering about that, too. The gap is from 1:52 to 2:05. It mars an otherwise great video. CGTSH, any chance you could repost this without the gap in the audio?
there are doujinshis of these two but yes I GET YOUR POINT. It was pretty clear they hated each other very much but at the same time respected each other because of their own strength. Their rivalry was pure
I will say this though, in the long run kazuma was stronger. I think this simply because he had far more power until ryuho learned to harmonize with his alter, then they matched up even. If you remember, kazumas first form was almost enough to beat ryohus 2nd form. And when kazuma gained his second, they never actually fought it was interupted Fact is kazuma wouldve wrecked. Simply because kazuma 2nd form was powerful enough destroy his body, ryuhos did nothing until his 3rd"catch up" form
I miss when anime was like this now its all either harem or slice of life, well im not a hater of the 2 genres I like alot of harem anime and a few slice of life stuff but I miss and prefer badass animes like this one.
****Spoilers**** Its hard to notice since it happens quick, but they hand makes the gentle fist first (Ryuho's fighting style fist.) and then makes Kazuma's signature fist clenching. I think it was a flat out tie, because they were both alive in the end, and if one of them really won, the other would be dead.
@brocklock09 agreed but VA for anime has really risen over the few years. and its funny how you mention cowboy bebop.since Steven Blum (the voice of spike In the english redub) can be found in almost anything you watch these days =/
@brocklock09 Ya gotta think about it like this. They did the best with what they had. If someone didn't start it, we never would have made it this far. So thank god for the crappily dubbed DBZ, because it made people realize that anime and Voice acting could be profitable.
**SPOILERS!** This is a valid point. In that final fight they were really going all out, if one of them really was stronger than the other the other would indeed be dead. It's been a while since I've watched this show. Were they legitimately trying to kill each other in the end or just prove who was stronger?
@MrWolfman55: Straight Cougar isn't dead, he suffered a broken leg. Plus they show him in the final episode sitting in a chair in a grassy field with his broken leg.
OK! COULD SOMEONE PLEEEEEEEASE TELL ME -SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER ALERT!!!!- WHO WON THAT LAST FIGHT IN THE FINAL EPISODE?! KAZUMA OR RYUHO?! IT'S BEEN ANNOYING ME TO NO END AND NOWHERE HAS A CLEAR ANSWER!
