The original release is based on the Anime version of MUI Goku, specifically during the Tournament of Power.(hence why this one is specifically called the Toyotarou version). Fun fact, he never actually went shirtless against Jiren in MUI during the Manga's TOP(kept the blue undershirt/UI sign look), nor did he actually manage to defeat him in the form. It ran out of time before it got the chance to. He only actually got to this specific look during the Moro arc, which is most def inspired by the positive reception to the prior Anime's interpretation of MUI with the full shirtless aesthetic. Anyways great review as always!
Amazing video, I just bought mine on bigbadtoystore and saw this review, i am very excited. You for sure have the best reviews and you go through every detail making sure the veiwers get the whole idea of the product, amazing camera shots and quality as well. Im hoping they remake gogeta blue, id definitely purchase a new gogeta blue thats actually corresponding with the movie. Great work, you earned a subscriber.
it's called the toyotarou editions since the headsculpt is specifically based on manga ui goku, whereas the 2020 version is the style of whoever sculpted that version great review as always!
as i thought as well. i was waiting for this answer... 😆 that said, they've been feeding us gokus from random sculptor's versions all this time 😂 no wonder they rarely get it right 😆 thx for the feedback, friend 🙏😁
if you have limited budget, get toyotarou first. he's a premium release & bound to be rare very soon. you can always get goku legendary later since he's a regular release & most probably will be reissued multiple times in the future. thx for the comment & enjoy collecting, friend 😊🙏
keep an eye out for premium bandai site, friend. figures normally cost less on pre-orders and more when released. however, there are exceptions for some underwhelming releases. it's literally gambling to save money on preorders 🙂
When I bought any tigs, it was normal, but later on my nose and body, these green stains kept appearing and I couldn't wipe them off.Do u have solutions 😢
it might be possible if you really make the effort to align it & push it in tightly. but most of the time, mine has that gap. it's not awfully noticeable on normal viewing distance, it only looks obvious bcos i'm filming super close with macro lens. nevertheless, it's still an awesome head. so dont worry too much about the gap 😁
The 2020 version is based on the anime, which has little to no involvement with Toyotaro to my knowledge. Both Toei and Toyotaro independently made versions of DBS based on Toriyamas outline and feedback.
i'm also waiting for someone to say this. bcos then i'd be thinking, 'why havent we get a single toriyama edition all this time?' is bandai seriously thinking toyotarou is more precious to pay homage to? 🤣 thats why i said whatever to this naming nonsense. thx for the visit, friend 🙏
figure-value wise, i'd say it's not, but its value might still rise when stock dries up. sentimental value usually dictates the price. and with figure this good, it rarely goes down. depending where you live, prices are a bit higher in the US or europe, and lower in asian countries, usually caused by freight cost, so if you're not in asian countries, that $120 might be the norm. thx for the visit, friend 😁🙏
Does his left leg look weird to anyone else? I haven't seen anyone mention it on this release, but als havent looked back on original release The front is ripped, so a knee is sculpted, makes sense, good colouring. The back is... seemingly somewhat connected, but the joint is skin coloured. While Inunderstand its a cost saving measure, it would've been nice to have a little more attention given to the backside on ui considering the og back promo we got for the form
