The SOS BAND is one of the best soul groups of thr 80's PERIOD!! Their music is timeless and they are way to often overlooked. Listen to their songs and you will instantly get what im saying...

Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were on there A-GAME when they produced this album!! Great Producers and an Unbelieveale group!! Man do I miss music like this.
Reginald Williams Those two were on their A-game period. I don't know that they've ever gone wrong. Amazing producers, those two. Can barely be exaggerated.
I'm sorry but I'll have to stronglyyy, AGREE! These dudes(and Mary especially) were incredible. Their music speaks heavily to the early to mid 80s which was a beautiful time in my life. I was 15 the summer "Take your time" dropped, 18 when On the Rise,19 Just the way you like it,and 21 when Sands of time dropped. After that they kinda fell off but we will never forget;"Weekend Girl" "No One's Gonna Love You" "The Finest" "Tell Me If You Still Care" "Just Be Good To Me" and all the other singles
Ya'll dont remeber the Spice1 version? "Welcome To Tha Ghetto" I love Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis productions, it's so refined and yet funky at the same time!
that change up bridge (music at 2:54) and (vocals at 3:01) is unreal fantastic. Very subtle but all there. The lead guitar lick starts. At 3:31 she moves up into another very subtle vocal bridge, even though it's a verse between the chorus. wow, unreal.
I am a black American living in the hinterlands of Europe but I was raised on this music and I have passed it on to my kids. We lived at a special age of music, almost like jazz with Bird. Thanks to youtube we can still listen to it. Thanks for posting.
Dam I miss this group listening their music fun memorie's good time's a lot of traveling wish I could turn back the hand's of time thank You for all your music S.O.S Band
Someone build a Time Machine. Please removed me from the Hellish 21st Century 2020 Pandemic Nightmare🤦🏾♀️ And return me backwards towards my Lady Youth Teenager Decade of the 1980s
SOS BAND had the jams and they still jam today goes to show great music lasts a lifetime not what we have today I can't even name one song of today cause it's not worth remembering let alone playing in my ears.
Sahara-love so fine, Juicy-sugar free, I probably can list many other tracks that carry a similar groove with the same instruments and vibe...And it's all good! Each song with the 808's makes this era of music special.
@@Whtqh years later I heard the story of Loose Ends attempting to reach out to Jam & Lewis to rework the drums on "Hanging On A String", to which Jam & Lewis declined, so Loose Ends did it anyway lol. Another fun fact, Jam & Lewis recreated this track for "Oh Yeah, It Feels So Good" for New Edition.
Que que é isso???quem não conhece acha que é de hoje...por que é muito bom!!! Ontem e Hoje!!!a diferença que na época só os Djs tinham, e hoje qualquer um tem!!
I remember seeing them at the Hammersmith Odeon in London. Of course they finished with 'Just be good to me'. The audience wouldn't stop singing it and the chorus carried on out of the theatre into the street before it dispersed with the crowd.
Now this SOS Band came out in the seventies that's what everybody was going to the Disco and if you dance to one of these long songs you were tired of sweaty but you have so much ass fun they had the finest you're the finest I've ever known and if you still care that was bad Jam by S.O.S Band they were happening in the 70s I loved it and had so much fun it was just great all fun everybody just liking everybody no fights no bullets no guns just damn ass fun I miss it so much me and my friend Lisa Ramirez we would go out get ready we will get to the club at 10 when it was happening we have a couple of drinks before we get there

I hear you. Mary lives 10 minutes from me; and I've met her a few times.....funny, charismatic, and oh so charmingly nice...yet very decisive, direct, and *aware* is the impression she's left on me the few times I've talked with her. Her voice is just *wow*, you know what I mean? lol...That's why I came here. The current live shows are amazing, but every now and then I just love to hear the original studio recordings.. :-)
Great song in it's own right But I was waiting for Maxwell to come in during the intro ;) he's the only one who sampled this song with any justice on Ascension - don't ever wonder (the tribute cut)
Sounds of Success brought the most prolific style of music to the industry, joining numerous other groove trend setters with sounds and lyrics giving vivid examples of life ghetto the hood and across the land... expressing real blackness, lifting the spirit of the many souls facing day to day struggles... Power to the People!!! 2014 Baby!
I hear you it goes to show music is universal and it touches deep into our souls beyond what we appear to be in our everyday lives. Peace to you mainstream Whiteboy...
