Ever since I got my first Note by Samsung (it was the Note 3), I've been hooked. I now have the Note 8, and I'm about to get the note 10. But I've always wondered if the tips really were different, and I really felt like there was a difference. Now I know, and I really appreciate this video! I just replaced the black tip, that I've been using for about a year, with the gray tip, and I like the gray tip much more. And oddly, the phone detects the gray tip much better. So, I definitely like the gray tip more! Thanks for this video, again; I really appreciate it!
Pfft I guess it goes to show to read the instructions. I've had my note for almost 2 years and until watching this video, didn't know what that clamp was for and that I had replacements lol. I thought I was going to have to buy a new pen and was pretty upset with that. My kids were drawing on my phone and pressed to hard thus wearing down the end. Thanks for the video!!
I love these promos which give me ever increasing knowledge and understanding about so many of the features of this great device. I like that they are "spoon fed" to me so as not to overwhelm with so much at once. Great job!
Yup new....When I first got the Note 8 I couldn't figure out what the clamp was for...Looks like s nail clipper lol Then I found the tips but thanks for clearing up what each one does. Great video
i'll use the white as my daily driver, because it lasts longer, and use the black one for when i need to be precise and want more friction. The main function of the black tip is to decrease "sensitivity", or in other words, how much lateral force is required for the pen to change direction and maintain the momentum throughout the stroke you're making with the pen tip.
Your statements are contradictory. You said the black tip gives more friction, but decreases the sensitivity required to change direction. Those are two completely different things. More friction would require more force to change the direction, not less.
@@OGCreete" sensitivity" wass a reference to mouse pointer setting. Higher sensitivity means less force in the hand on the mouse required to move the pointer across screen. The same amount of force on the highfriction tip will make it move less. Making you more precise. With a lower sensitivity in computer mousepointer terms...
I feel so foolish for not trying out each tip but I just assumed they were purely aesthetic. Using the softer black one now and it's so smooth and comfortable. Thank you!
thank you because I did not think I would ever get to change my tip. now that I'm older I see no need to keep paying over a thousand dollars on a cell phone every year any more. I'm just changing out my tip on my s pin after all these years so they do last for some time. thanks again for showing me how to change the tip

Note that the Note9 comes with a white and grey tips. The white is the smooth/quiet one, and the grey is the pencil-like one. And it only comes with two extra tips, not as many as the Note8.

How do we know when to replace the tip? Samsung gave spare tips in the box when i purchased my Note 10. Also are there any chances for the tip to go in we force the tip during the insertion process? Thanks mate
My tip isn't working and I can't use my s pen but I don't have replacement tip because my phone is second hand and the first person to use it didn't give us the extra tip, is there anyway to fix it??

I followed your instructions to the letter, how hard could it be. However, the replacement tip slid right out when I held the pen to use on my screen. No matter how many times I put the tip back in, it kept sliding right back out. This happened with both the black and the white tips. I saw that when you put your tip in, it stayed in place and you used the pen on your screen with no fallout or problems. Can you please make another video to show me the proper step to put the tip in correctly so that it won't slide right out when I try to use the pen? Thank you. ♡
Great video. I'm using the grey tip right this moment simply b/c it's my 1st time using it. 'Hard to tell which tip will end up as my fav. I like each for their differences. I can already see where I would use them both for diff. purpose s. Now I have (2) S-Pen's so it'll be as easy to swap between the two choices. Thanks so much. Mine came with a white one like yours, but I put in a gray tip and it was harder. I like it much better than the soft white one. Edit: I didn't get a black tip. I got: Two white tips, one of which already preinstalled, and a gray tip.
I've only had my Note 9 for a few weeks and I hadn't noticed that there was a different color stylus to use. I'm going to try the black one soon cause I like the sound of the smoothness.
I have purchased so many s pens, the one that got damage, I was going too take the tip out and put it in the new one, because I didn't know why it was writing different on my phone, but thanks for the video. I got it out the damage one, but couldn't get the tip out of the new one, why???

So this was very helpful and oddly enough I only got 2 tips as replacements with my note9 a white tip and a grey tip no black I replaced mine with the white tip but just curious why I got white and grey but not a black one my girlfriend has the same exact phone and same for hers no black
Can you make is so your name is a bit higher on the video? Because when you go onto fullscreen mode, like on a Note 9, you can't see it. Which I actually find quite annoying because it is in wasted space and why not use it up?

Thank you so much for the vid just got my note 10+ still revelant 💖 I switched to the harder tip because I've been using pen up. App alot and the pressure sensitive features makes the black tip drag more even wear more think its so cool how you can draw the finest line to a bold one with the calligraphy pen and actually use pressure with the pencil + crayons to color had a galaxy so and it had a pressure sensitive screen but I'm not aware of any drawing app that used it before #penup again love the video thank you
Anyone knows whether these are good also for Tab S6 Lite's S pen? Just to know if it's worth buying some spare ones online (and no, there are not S6 Lite specific ones yet)
