I often wondered why Harleys are still producing 80-110 hp in todays day and age witch is pathetic and thought that V Twin engine cant produce horsepower and as always in this country a a guy i garage will prove you wrong !! What a beast of a engine 200 Horsepower , Congrats !

Thats why they stopped making the Evolution, it became a absolute laughing joke in the industry. Every pro engine builder knows you can get a “dirt bike” that makes more power and torque than a Evo motor. Which is why you see Bnr gang members riding them everywhere, they don’t know any better.

@@tropicthndr not really cheif. They wer very reliable engines for their time. They are a 35 year old design....They also make plenty or torque when stored and large bore. A built 113-124 in will easily make 120/120 reliable. And if u rode one its anything but slow. The new m8 engine can make 150hp 150 torque with basic bolt ons. The simple fact is an air cooled engine cant produce the same power with the same fuel as liquid cooled. Timing and compression u can safely run only allows so much power given displacement when dealing with air cooled. As far as the horsepower reference its simple math. And air cooled 45° twin cannot pull the rpm required for massive horsepower. They arent designed to. They have massive stroke. The firing order is also another reason they don't and can't rev high rpm. Its designed to make torque at low rpm. Both pistons are traveling upward and downward each revolution close together as opposed to an opposite fire engine where one its at TDC and one its at BDC. Which is why harleys make torque early on and have a distinct sound. A sound which people that actually buy them rather enjoy. Evo engines wer never designed and meant to be a high HP race engine. Its a cruiser bike that chugs along at low rpm and last for 100k easily with minimal maintenance. HD did build a liquid cooled performance crusier the vrod 20 years ago and the mass of their clientele hated it even tho it was the fastest true crhsier at the time and extremely reliable. Indian completely rips off the basic engine design to within a millimeter of the bore and stroke and even the 60degree engine angle and everyone raves about it. The bike was almost too ahead of its time. The new M8 platform is no joke. And the new revolution Max program making 150hp in the Pan America is the real deal as well. They just unfortunately have to cater to the clientele. People also need to remember HD doesn't sell outboard motors, pianos. Generators, dirtbikes, snowmobiles and a pile of other products the large Japanese manufacturers do to have the money to blow on racing technology. They just sell bikes and accessories.

Good eye, but I thought that was a modified Dellorto, I don't see either one very often these days, just Sifton, Bendix, and S&S super gushers, I like my Mikuni HSRs myself.

@@patrickbonne9171 its a TwinCam motor but built with Evolution case mounts (2 vertical mounts to trans on rear of engine rather than 4 horizontal mounts to twin cam style transmission). I just picked up a set of these special application S&S case. So a TwinCam motor but will only bolt into an Evo style drivetrain. Crazy motor build , interesting that a) the cases can handle that much HP, and b)the mounts can handle that much HP. Gives me a bit more comfort building mine.
