I'd rather have a messy unpolished game with a lot of ambition and scope - basically something that gives the modding community the framework to expand into something magnificent like with the original SoC game - than just another run-of-the-mill linear action shooter that happens to be set within the STALKER / Zone universe. No?
@@deckardp.i.4088 Well the game is made by hopes and dreams, an incredible fitting premise coupled with Slavic ducktape and last but not least, nor less important, TONS of love.
I distinctly remember using the mag, but can't exactly describe it, I think the character uses the lip of the magazine (open side) to wedge out the stuck casing in the bolt (right side) and it all looks fluid as hell, probably mo-cap, again It might've been a special reload-jam or a regular jam I'm not sure, it all happened so quick, and only once, during a gunfight.
Stalker isn’t the only Sim like game, but it is the only off-line open world, rich story, Sim, like that, carries a haunting and super intriguing and engaging atmosphere with intelligent AI.
It'll be immersive animation wise for sure, there wont be super in depth gameplay mechanics like sewing together armor piece by piece though but I bet cleaning guns will be in !
Thanks for the video! I was hoping to see some leaked gameplay, but that didn't happen yet. So your description of the demo is the best I can get atm. Also, your commentary wasn't to bad! Would you say, that the game captures the feel of the first 3 Stalker games, that we fans crave so much?Does it feel like a true Stalker game?
Thanks, Hard to say in truth, It covers more of the modern gamefeel of say Anomaly mod / GAMMA / METRO surprisingly, I think we're moving past the SoC atmosphere days.. for better or worse
Don't think that's a MK14 EBR, it looks like just an M1A with an Archangel stock. But either way that's actually a pretty cool inclusion, something you would expect in a mod but for the base game to have probably implies an American based faction or the Mercs have expanded.
How was the performance? I saw the new trailer and I'm little worried. I'm going to be playing this day one regardless but I want to be able to recommend this to some friends who have never played stalker. In your opinion with the demo, did it have a consistent framerate? Would someone who has never played stalker before experience the same level of atmosphere as SoC or CoP?
many people around the world have been interested especially 13+- years ago when it peaked although recently anomaly & GAMMA are basically more popular than anything stalker wise ever
Yes! Sounds like a lot of the animations are similar to G.A.M.M.A. Pleased to hear that the PDA is also 3D. Hopefully the weapons and armor also have to be repaired. Give me that repair kits and replacement parts grind! I also hope that there's dismemberment and visible damage on enemies. I want to be able to play this for 100's of hours and just live a life out in the Zone! Subscribed.
AK jammed, which almost confirms weapon repairs, probably at mechanics , but maybe there will be a field-repair item, I don’t think it will be too complex
It is likely it won’t be like that. Gamma is far from what Stalker is truly about to GSC. I would also actually like a grind in it so I get to stay in the world longer and have to work for my stuff
Oh yeah I thought this was pretty obvious so I didnt even mention it, in the fight with the bandits I was leaning around corners and it felt fluid enough
I'd say 80% there, anomalies are a bit rough, but what is surprising was the rock solid framerate during the demo, with no major graphical compromises made... although again I don't know what PC the demo ran on (probably not THE biggest beasts they have at gamescon, maybe some generic high ends they use for all games ran there)
Weapons wheel actually, I only had 1 ammo type.. I didnt specify sorry, weapon wheel is mostly for consoles but again it doesnt matter, hotkey 1-9 are in use in S2 1 knife, 2 pistol , 3 shotty, 4 ak 5 nade 6 bolt 7 detector 8 was something too, that was the setup about
Such a bummer they didnt allow recording or streaming. Did it look/feel like they took inspiration from modded stalker, like anomaly or taken more to the originals?
I'd say animations for pretty much anything you do in the game is a huge indicator they looked at METRO series or GUNSLINGER / Recent Anomaly mod versions - General feeling feels very polished so you could compare that more to anomaly than the originals which feel very rough initially
