Damn, I was looking forward to your opinions on Anomaly compared to the vanilla experience. But I do respect your decision to not use them or to cover more STALKER content, especially given your explanation as to why. It just seems so unneccesary to harrass creators to try and sway their content or opinion. Though, on the bright side I really look forward to your Metro videos!
That sounds fucking awful and thats such shitty behaviour by people doing this to you over something as ridiculous as not covering some video games/mods.
My basic explanation of the Stalker series is that Shadow of Chernobyl is the Story the Devs wanted to tell, while Call of Pripyat was the Game they wanted to make. Clear Sky falls between the two as a demo of why they couldn't include all they wanted in the first game. SoC has anomilies as shimmering bubbles in your path like supernatural landmines, while in CoP you get more defined areas where water flows up hill or a village burns for eternity. Stashes in the first game only appear when you're told about them, in the third stuff can be found with diligence.
@@cptncutleg I'll look into them, though the fan remake scene is always a bit of odd proposition. A lot of these revised versions decide the great part was "dark souls" style difficulty, rather than atmosphere and exploration. At least one of these is already on my computer, but I can barely escape the rookie village...
One small correction. This game is the one that invented "pre-filled" stashes. All stash loot is already spawned, just not in crates. If you know your stash maps you can basically get free midgame gear in the first 10 minutes.
Also small correction the zone is a product of secretive scientists(tm) seeing this absolute fucking radiological disaster happening and saw it as an opportunity to do secretive science(tm), and they did the predictable thing scientists do with absolutely no oversight which is forbidden science(tm) in labs all over the former exclusion zone (including somewhere in the plant's complex itself which is where Strelok finds the scientists in the hive mind bathtubs), aside from making giant brains or giant babies with giant brains to study psychic stuff they decide they're just going to become a hive mind with psychic power to try and socially engineer the planet's population into some kind of war- and hatred-free utopia via a "noosphere" that everyone's brains emit but the psychic bullshit just wound up bending the universe a little out of shape instead. It's a little more convoluted than the "it was aliens visiting the planet and the alien trash is making things weird" but the product is the same.
I played the stalker series so much, in CoP it takes me about an hour to get the money to order the exoskeleton and FN F2000 from Nimble in Zaton. I would pay a lot of money to experience the series for the first time again.
@NelyL there are a lot of weapon stashes around zaton, you can get a bear detector for free then go artifact hunting with the starter armor (except in fire anomalies if you don't know how to consistently move in them, the best starting locations are the chemical anomalies, and where you find the wheel for beard and the anomaly next to it), and doing the ranger station and waste processing facility takes at most 10 minutes each. You really just need to know the stashes, outplay the ai in fights and drink A LOT of energy drinks.
My first time playing CoP was the Cyrillic leaked beta release with google-translated text so I had no idea what was going on, or what I was meant to do in the quests. I learnt so much of the story when the official release happened, lol. But as a westerner, it was like being an actual westerner in the zone, having no real idea what you're doing, killing people out of general fear.
For those trying this for the first time. "f5" is your quick save, use it often. "p" pulls up the map and quest log. "i" for the inventory. 'o" for the detector and 6 for bolts. There is also a sprint, it's a stupid key rebind it. Head to the boiler anomaly first. It's nearby, and there are two dudes there. Wait for it, then do what needs to be done. Remember to throw bolts and be quick in there. from there head to the boat, speak with beard. Usually I will hit the dredge before making it to the skadovsk, as it sometimes has the better artifacts and a quest item, but I would not advise it without more med supplies. Also, once you find some, keep Anabiotics on you. You may never need them, but it gives you options.
@@qee4617 Not usually, the only variance any more is interact on F or E. Just about everything else is standard. I also have a semi rational fear of rebinding, I grew up playing mechwarrior 3. It used the entire keyboard, so rebinding was a snowball effect.
If someone has so little experience with videogames they can't even rebind controls or look them up in the menu settings, I would say it's too early for them to dive into STALKER series, start with some other open-world imsim/rpg with guns, like Fallout 3/NV, where easy difficulty is actually *easy*, climb up the learning curve, and get to STALKER in a couple weeks. Otherwise you wil not have a good casual gaming time.
But stashes do exsist before you complete a task. They are just hiden. Hell Streloks stashes (the ones the that give you Streloks SGI 5K) can be found without even visiting the UAV
I realized it was July and i was like, “hey that guy I just started watching must be doing that series i binged” and lo and behold, here it is. Great video, loved the cooking segment! 😁
This was my first Stalker game too. I loved just being dumped into the game world and having to learn my way around the mechanics and the zone, it’s like I was really new to the Zone.
Fallout 4 attempted to simulate emissions, but it did so in a simplified and less hazardous manner compared to Stalker's concept. That is why I like games without the AAA seal, they have willingness to include harsh features.
Huh, I have never thought about rad storms in this way before. For me, it was just an annoyance in the vanilla game. In Horizon overhaul mod it is at least somewhat bad since you don't have a lot of health and RadAway was made much more expensive.
On the mac and cheese recipe, I'd recommend adding a single slice of processed cheese. It's got a lot of emulsifiers in it that help make the cheese less stringy and more saucy. It would also allow you to use a greater cheese to bechamel ratio.
@@solutionless123 Olive oil is good, but I don't use it for American mac and cheese. American cheese on the other hand contains sodium citrate which helps smooth the mixture. It prevents the cheese from going stringy like it does in the video.
The thing with the tool sets is that there's two on each map, a basic set and an advanced set, meaning that there's no need to give one of the technicians the tool set from another map because there's already one of those laying around in the map already, you just gotta find it. Pripyat has two of the highest end tool sets only. Freedom and Duty do have several interactions. One of them includes giving the respective faction leader the PDA from Morgan, the Duty exosuit guy from the deal at the very beginning of the game. There are many more that will directly influence how each faction sees you and what Hawaiian sells too but I'm not going to spoil them. Artifacts do have a pretty big impact on the later stages of the game, being the ones that give you huge buffs but also are very radioactive, meaning you either need a rare anti rad artifact or several common ones. Once you know the specific conditions for each artifact to form, you'll know where to go (and when) to properly hunt for specific artifacts. They are also one of the fastest ways to get loads of bank too so that's also an option. A side mission including the Mercenaries at Pripyat can get you a red keycard that you can use on the secret lab to open a door which will grant you even more high end loot. I found the final push particularly difficult because my buddies kept dying somehow. I was doing fine on my own but the others kept going down for one reason or another. Everyone surviving is the only way to get the best ending. Exploration usually is very well rewarded. There are lots of stashes that you may not know about and stumble upon them. Luckily you don't need to know about them beforehand like in SoC so all loot is gonna be there the first time you reach it no matter what.
A note about preshred cheese. It's often mixed/coated in starch to prevent reforming. Especially anything "wetter" than parmesan. Most times that interferes with a good melt.
There's actually alot to do with freedom and duty. You just have to start the quest line by giving Morgans PDA to either duty or freedom instead of owl
@@TaCo0oCaT I mean we've had the highest concurrent players a few times in the last year or so. The game is turning around and the Devs are putting support back into the game even if the publisher makes them deliver things too early they still go back and fix it
Funny enough, the bolts are huge aspect of the game… I never used them, ever. You don’t need to, you can actually see every single anomaly if you just…look, there’s always some sort of disturbance in some way, floating leaves you can still see in the dark… then once you get the advanced scanner in CoP it just becomes trivial. I wish there were more instances where I HAD to use the bolts. And no, I spam medkits going through electricity ones because you find them all over and it’s way faster
I prefer to give the tools to cardan as only he can upgrade your exo skeleton with the sprint ability making it easily the most effective armour in the game. You can get really op and rich in this game really quickly if you know how to.
My proudest moment in gaming will forever be taking out that first Chimera in Zaton. Had no idea what it was, still very new to the game, two other stalkers and I set out to kill this thing, and when we got there they opened up on it as it got stuck on a fence. It eventually got around and rushed me as I was trying to sneak up on it, assuming it was distracted. In a panic I neglected to switch from my knife and, very luckily, slashed it in the face, killing it before it laid a claw on me. It must have taken a real beating from my compatriots before I got to it.
Came for the game, left with a desire to cook mac n cheese. I've gotta say I think this is the first time I've ever seen a cooking video done in a normal looking kitchen instead of some mansion.
Burers are best shot with a sniper or grenades; the latter requiring some throwing finesse. Moreover, once a Burer is using his shield, there's no need to fire - it's completely useless and only makes you waste ammo. Just saying.
Once you get some armor protection burers are easy to take with a knife. Just pop one shot so it puts up it's shield, then charge it. It is then stuck in attacking you with its hands instead of psychic blasts and dies after 2-3 strong attacks. You can deal with controller like that too if you have some psy defense and few covers along the way. Even on master difficulty it's easy to take down chimeras (when they miss a jump stab then in the back over and over, it's mostly their bad ai working against them). Once i installed Misery i got schooled on these tactics hard though, no more cheese for me ;P
I remember CoP as "Play master mode, run through anomalies coz damage imput is too low, use the knife to kill everything coz it's way too OP, play 'til pripyat, restart coz the first 2 areas are way funnier."
Looking forward to seeing your take on the rest of the series. I've never actually played Shadow of Chernobyl, but I've played both Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat. Looks like it's time to change that :)
I'm still kinda worried about Stalker 2, the trailer for it looked way too cinematic to me. So many fancy effects going on, I want it to remain desolate and creepy not turn in to set piece galore. In the other games sometimes you can be in a forest and nothing weird is near you at all but you're still kinda terrified of finding *something* and I worry that they might have fucked with that atmosphere to make things more "cool" Not that it matters to me much since it'll probably be like 10 years before I can get a machine to play it on anyway...
I feel you... In fact, I read a forum from the devs, that the size for the game was about 180GB! No lie! That would require a seriously proper rig to play such a game...
''beards artifact prices are crap'' someone hasn't gotten the achivements, you know that if you get the ''one of ours'' achivement you can get 21K for copleting 1 artifact order mission as long as it's a very rare artifact? Acctualy my favourite way to make money was to sleep for about 10 days causing all the artifacts to respawn due to emmissions, than collect them all, travel to zaton and start beards ''artifac order'' missions give him the artifact, sleep until he gets an order for a another artifact I have, rinse and repeat until all the artifacts i had I either wanted to keep or were not in the list of artifacts that beard could get an order for and just sell those the normal way, wich after 2 days of doing that got me to 1milion
play the game on gunslinger mode, it remakes all the gun models, sounds, and animations. It also makes the burers more difficult to put down, but it's fun. with the rpg.
What’s happening to the devs of STALKER 2 sucks, but look at the bright side, the destroyed buildings in the game will look _really_ good with all the references they have.
That mac and cheese looks fire, have you ever done homemade hamburger helper? I just made some with pork sausage, beef, and a creamy cheesy roux, and it was unbelievable. It’s a great meal and the best part is you can kinda just wing it depending on what you have on hand.
Cardan gives you the lowest repair and upgrade prices when drunk as well as after getting him item 62 Controllers were East, burrururers were stupid easy if you have any amount of decent armor and resistances. Chimeras we’re stupid easy with the street-sweeper shotgun. I am honestly disappointed cause I played on hard in the 3rd one, and no getting one shot is not “hard”, which rarely happened cause if you’re moving enough you can dodge most mutant attacks and spam enough medkits (my pack rat ass would have like 50 at my worst times so I was never in need of them) and get through anything
6:25 you are totally wrong about stashes. In stalker SOC that's how they worked, the stashes are empty until you find info about them from dead bodies. In CoP the stashes exist literally from the moment you start the game. You can get them at any time. It's entirely possible to get a brand new AK with grenade launcher, Spas12, M9, military first aid kits, new armor, new gasmasks, new mp5, and a new sniper rifle within literally 15 minutes of play time. As for people giving you stashes for completing tasks, if you have already looted their stash, the game will actually say: "you've already discovered this stash".
If you like stalker and pain you should check out Stalker Anomaly. It's stand alone mod based on CoP. I must say that it's the best stalker experience I got ever. You can customize your game to your liking (to be more shoot frenzy or more like Tarkov single player). Also there are options like saving only near lit campfires, most mutants pose much more deadly threat than in base game, artifact hunting is harder. There is whole new crafting and repair system.
Calling Anomaly the best Stalker experience is strange, not only is the main quest bad but there are barely any side quests. The mod is an experiment at best.
I haven't seen a single one of your videos since that short you made a month or so ago, I wonder how the heck that happened that I never saw them only to find out youtube unsubbed me, wtf!
I got de-algorithm'd. Working on fixing that now but something else I've figured out is that for whatever reason RU-vid is now defaulting people's settings to not give them any notifications even if they've rung the bell. It might be worthwhile to go and check to see if you've got notifications turned on.
eh about your comments on giving tools to nitro, there are basic and fine tools in both zaton and yanov (yes I know it's jupiter but I call it yanov) so you should just give them to whoever, for calibration tools in pripyat its a bit trickier because both mechanics get unique upgrades besides the standard one ( nitro can give you a infrared sensor on the tactical helm. and cardan can give you the sprint upgrade on the exoskeleton) however there are 2 of these as well so you just need to decide wich one you want quikcer
Ya do know that being kosher= *No cheese & meat together, right?* You can have cheese before meat.. but never together and not for 8 hours having ate meat. Kosher isn't a diet fad it's a set of religious rules.
I actually did not know this. All I was aware of was the no pork products part. I guess in that case it would be best to hold the chicken in this and then have that as a main course then or sub it out for maybe some seared tomato slices or mushroom if you still want something more savory in the mac.
Don't ever ignore bacon when a recipe calls for it. The crispy goodness is too great to pass up. If you're in a position where you can't eat just pork, you probably already know the best way for you to acquire beef bacon, which tastes the exact same as pork bacon. Most of the flavor comes from the curing process, in my experience. If you didn't know about beef bacon, congratulations! Now you do. You can also do it yourself if you can't find any with some belly.
I know that you most likely don't know that I've been pestered about this for the last three months, but for what is for me the 1000th time now, I'm sorry but no. We're not doing the the stalker mods because none of them even come close to passing my security tests.
10 minutes in and I already had 2 artifacts I wish the lighting in this game was as good as clear sky Stashes do exist but they’re hidden… I found one 15 minutes into my first play through
I looked into it but unfortunately it doesn't pass my security standards for what is allowed to be installed and ran on my PC, sorry. I had a really bad near-miss in the past that lead to a months-long game of whack-a-mole with stolen passwords and cookie theft. I take exactly 0 chances with my security and if virustotal doesn't trust something, I don't trust it. Unfortunately, all the major stalker mods such as lost alpha, anomaly, and so on all fail the virustotal test miserably.
Hey I love this video and your channel, I tried joining your discord and lurked for a few weeks, but the number of times you pinged @everyone in all caps over rule changes, adding extremely specific things (which I don't disagree with, ban those fuckers) but it was annoying for myself as someone who was interested in getting notifications and stuff (so I oculdn't just disable @everyone) but wasn't being a dick. If I can give some advice (if you even read this -- I debated on DMing you but that was in the rules), you may be shooting yourself in the foot a bit with going overly specific with the rules. By doing that, anyone who wants to piss you off (which you make abundantly clear it does by yelling at @everyone when someone does stuff and feeling the need to add a new rule/rewrite an old one) knows *exactly* what to do and what will annoy you. The best way I've seen people do rules in discords is be general, not give people the reacctions they want, and go HAM with the ban hammer, or worse, just mute them. That keeps them in the server, and unable to talk, and makes them less likely to make a new account to troll you again. One has a rule that if you leave while serving a punishment (such as being muted, they call it brigged), then you're perma-banned. Just a thought. I'm sure I'm not the only person that would LOVE to be able to stay in your Discord, but the trolls, via getting to you (due to you handing them the way they might want you to do -- angrily -- so, unintentionally) ruined it for us. I can't speak for anyone but myself, so I won't, but you seemed to be very stressed out (I hope the toxicity isn't impacting your mental health too much, sincerely), and it was a real downer seeing that kind of stuff. Anyway, I'll probably join again in a few months, and I wish you luck. Just wanted to give my thoughts/suggestions in case they might help on the off chance you read them. Take care, and fucking ban the trolls.
I actually just ended up re-writing the rules to be more concise after literal years of amending them because some idiot would always come in and do some new thing we weren't okay with. It's a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't scenario in my experience: either you're painfully specific and get dudes like you who get put off or you get a bunch of "bUt It WaSn'T sPeCiFiCaLlY aGaInSt ThE RuLeZ! WhAt AbOuT mY FrEe SpEeCh!?" I've had this discord since 2016 and I find it's easier to deal with the former as opposed to the latter.
