Made the install look easy. Really helped answer some questions. I'm starting with a blank canvas except for a winch so hopefully as I add accessories this system will help keep the clutter down under the hood.

Great job! Hey I watched your video and just bought the 4 switch system and installed it early this morning and was thrilled with the clean install, but unfortunately I too used blue lock right on the threads and all was good until I came home from a wedding 8 hours later and opened the door on my Jeep to admire the switches and my switch panel was hanging by the wire connector lol. The blue lock tire dissolved the cheap plastic s tech used and so I just drilled right through the existing holes on through the front of the control box and ran long Phillips head screws through the box with nuts on the back. They have a great system but cheap plastic switch box that needs updated. Cheers

Great video! With you "non-magic" install video's. You make my job easier on a lot of installs, especially hooking up my S-Tech switch system! :)

You can actually feed 18 gauge wire through a drain hole right next to your pigtail and it exits underneath the fuse box for a cleaner look. And you don’t have to compromise the seal on the fuse box

Actually 16 gauge wire will fit too:)

Great tips and install on a good product. I use the similar one, by Applotech. My Tip, instead of using a coat hanger for fishing wires, try a heavy duty 3-4 foot long zip tie. This will prevent the possibility of scratching something and the possibility of sticking a metal wire/rod into something electrical or scarring factory wiring. The zip-tie also can snake through things much easier then a coat hanger.

great job on videos but can you tell me how i can hook up a canister or pump to power my lockers in rubicon 2002 or 03 dana 44 axles with factory pumps.i have axles under 98 TJ and all the wiring isnt there.all from front and rear diffs is there,the air hoses are there but still gotta check pumps,(factory) if i have to go to arb i still need to know if compressor can be cut down to 5 to 7 psi.No-one has any videos about hooking up a system except putting in the pump for airing up tires.That is pretty easy.I know there shld be a pressure switch which it doesnt look adjustable and maybe un-needed.i really dont know.If you can give any info. or advice to help me please let me know.Sincerely Robert

Great video got a few new ideas. One suggestion, I just installed new axles with Eaton E Lockers and their switched have this great slide lock feature that makes it really difficult to accidentally engage the locker. I put my switches on the A Pillar because I was paranoid that driving down the road a passenger might click the button while saying hey what does this do.

Great video thanks! How much wire comes with the kit from the relay box to the battery or better put the in line fuse box where you mounted it? I think you said it was 10 feet and so when you add the inline breaker wire wire of 1 foot what did you do with all that wire?

At the end of your video, there is a light at the bottom of the switches, and a light comes on at the top of the switches when they are "on." At night is the identifier such as "LED LIGHT BAR" backlit and readable? Thanks.

I still like the apollointech switch pod better. But I appreciate the s tech switches here. The apollointech allows me to make the wire connections in the relax box and not just in the loom. Good video. 👍

Copying and pasting this from my comment at the root level. I personally prefer the Cooper Bussman 15303 units. This way you can control the wiring specifications (e.g. AWG and temp rating), and the components are more or less field replaceable.

I see a problem with the circuit breaker at the battery end of this system, I suspect this is the reason why the manufacturer did not put a breaker at the battery side.. If they are individual wires for each circuit coming from the relay pod, then in a situation of a short on one of the wires, the wire will melt and catch fire before tripping a 60 amp breaker or fuse, this is because an individual wire in that bundle cannot carry 60 amps, all of them together can. However the most likely scenario of a short will be one of the 6 wires gets shorted. So unless you break apart the bundle and fuse each line with an appropriate fuse, then the 60 am breaker you have added is not effective... I should add, that I very much enjoyed your video and will watch others and will subscribe.

Your videos are extremely helpful. I appreciate your information and content on how too's. Thank you. The S-Pod seems to be the most popular system is there a reason you chose the S-Tech?

Cool system. I personally prefer the Cooper Bussman 15303 units. This way you can control the wiring specifications (e.g. AWG and temp rating), and the components are more or less field replaceable. I installed two 15303s and a Noco Genius GenM2 on a custom bracket in the same location, and still had room for an existing ARB CKMA12.

Looks like a really well thought out system! What camera do you use when recording your trail footage? I assume a GoPro, but which model?

How do you connect lights and stuff . do you just run the red wire to the box and the negative to the battery confused
@o3djeeps
@o3djeeps 5 лет назад
Negative to chassis ground (frame usually or grounding post) and positive to the switch output on the box.

Question, I have my 6 switch unit installed, and I'm trying to figure out how to run my winch power to a switch so I have to have that on before any power is sent to the winch. How do I go from the huge gague winch wire to the smaller S Tech switch wire? Will the small gague wire handle that power for the winch?
@mnredbull
@mnredbull 4 года назад
You need to use a heavy duty contactor (hi amp relay) that is controlled by a low amp switch to have switched power for the winch. Look on amazon for a relay that is rated for more than the winch is rated. 250-300A should be what you want.
@DanielSawn
@DanielSawn 4 года назад
@@mnredbull yep, figured this out a while ago. I purchased the Warn power isolator kit that has a relay. Thanks for the response though!

Hello o3djeeps. I have a 2017 Jeep Sahara unlimited. I have done some upgrades Spartacus front and rear bumper. Graphics. Royal Hooks billet door handles. Went from 3.21 gears to 4.88 gears. I put in an alpine 9” x209wra with two Jl 10” subs and 8 Millie pro speakers. I ordered the spod and Rock lights. My question is what lift would you put in to start off and what tires would you go with. Copper Stt pro or Stt max. My wife is going to kill me with the upgrades I am doing after watching your videos.

Go big or go home! Save yourself the money and do it once and right the first time. Metalcloak Gamechanger on either Rocksports or 6Pak with STT Pro. You'll not regret it! After 15 years of marriage, I still have my Jeep, but not the wife... Haha

@xXThePointXx
@xXThePointXx 6 лет назад
Joseph Giuffre Awesome! Give the guys at Metalcloak a call or try to ask on the Metalcloak Owners Club Facebook page. They will give you you're best options that fit your needs. Their service is the best in the business and is reflected and shared by their customers. I'm running 6Paks with STT Pro and it rides amazing, but I've heard no complaints on the Rocksports and that they do almost as good. I've heard a bunch of people switching from the FOX as they are a little more harsh. Kings are a whole different league, but there are a few that run them on the Facebook page and MC has experience with them to be better equipped to answer that question.
