When evil strikes inside a secure building, law enforcement needs to be able to get in and you need to get out! To get this episode started, ALERRT Facility Instructor Marty Adcock goes over the fundamentals of breaching a door with typical mechanical tools, and Rob Pincus joins in on the action for some two-man exercises. Later, Marty shares some concepts of breaching a barrier to escape a threat, discussing the finer points of breaking out a window. Retired law enforcement professional Sandy Wall joins the team to demonstrate his Door Key device, which uses standard-issue flash bangs to breach typical exterior doors. In the Question of the Week segment, our expert panel of instructors addresses having their own students seek out other training views.

You haven't watched very many of Rob's videos have you? Scroll way down on his video's and select a few. There are some training videos involving some AR usage.

What vest is the instructor wearing?
@thejoshbtv
@thejoshbtv 11 лет назад
Im gathering its the side that the locks are on that has room around it for the ram guy to swing and duck behind cover. So he swings and then backs up behind the wall he is standing near.

does anybody know what kind of plate carrier the instructor is wearing? also does anybody know if you can by those shoulder attachments?
@PersonalDefenseNet

Hi Vince. Unfortunately we do not have any information on the brand of plate carrier or the accessories.
@DaveSmith-cp5kj
@DaveSmith-cp5kj 7 лет назад
You can check on google for distribuiters. The groins are usually level 3A and sold for $160, the bicep protection often is included with the plate carrier and average around 135 per each shoulder. Forearm and femoral carriers are usually often available on request at similar prices. If you aren't using it for work, I would suggest actually making your own. It is quite easy to do and very effective since you can actually make spare pieces for the same cost to shoot them and have confidence in their protection. Just look on google for "homemade body armor". Mindtomachine was probably the first innovator of this kind of project.

Breaching charges are mainly used by the military, not by law enforcement who mainly use rams, pry's, or sometimes shotguns with special breaching rounds

Im part of the Safety & Security team at our hospital facility in El Paso,TX. I was wondering if you could help with information about active shooter training and law enforcement agancies that would help us. I have contacted local agaencies but was advised they dnt have a hospital training unlike malls or schools to offer us any training at this time
@pepelepew8147
@pepelepew8147 2 года назад
That would have to be a private security training that the hospital would have to pay for.

@fremen321

@@MrHunt916 The outside of the property should have a cutoff team should it not? Not sure how police operate but canadian military for the most part will have a team that stays outside and secures the cutoff points to prevent flanking or rabbiting. In that case there is not need for a member to cover the rear of the team on the outside of the property. Also its nice to have an armored vehicle with a big gun on it watching your back lol.

Is there a greater risk of messing up your back if you do that twisting kind of pry that he showed with the halligan? Not critiquing, just asking. I’ve never done a mechanical breach before so any info is appreciated.

Sandy Wall was with Houston PD SWAT was one of Texas best Swat operators and still is in very good shape. The League City PD officer needs to loose quite a few pounds if he wants to get through that door.

Does the instructor have to be wearing full gear? I'm just curious because it doesn't seem like he needs to wear it all the time. Maybe just chuck it off on a table and stretch those shoulders out.

instead of breaking the window why don't you just open it? 30:20
@rico76
@rico76 8 лет назад
Because, that's not sexy, or tacti-sexy. Also, more fun smashing the window (unless it's yours and you gotta pay for replacement, then by all means, just open it normally!)
@mr.awesomepants1308
@mr.awesomepants1308 8 лет назад
+rico76 in law enforcement situations it's a waste of time, and plus most windows don't open from the outside. In the situation in the video it's showing a worst case scenario where the window's locked and you have to get out ASAP. You'll never see a swat team bust down a door without trying the handle
@MaxwellAerialPhotography
@MaxwellAerialPhotography 4 года назад
they literally said in the video, that a lot of commercial building have windows that don't open, so they were showing how to smashing out the window in case you run into that.

If PDN is associated with SWAT mag then that is the furthest from the truth. Not everyone has to have a video that they dont support gun control, and PDN actually does more against gun control by teaching citizens how to properly use their firearms.

Though there is interesting information in this video, I do get the impression cop- and military work in the U.S. is a lot about "excitement" and "feeling badass" (note, for instance the choice of music used for these clips!). Both of these elements have no place in professional police work, I think - it more reminds of immature bullies on some school yard. The use of swat-teams has EXPLODED in America within recent decades for no good reason at all, and that may explain why the U.S. police produces such a horrifying body count, many of whom are persons, who posed no threat to the lives of anyone. The main person of any police intervention should be the citizen - and not some cop, who wants to feel big at the expense of others.

6 years ago so who knows where you are but you’d understand if you ever had to make entry inside where somebody needs serious medical attention or is in a fire and the fire department isn’t there yet.
@CoonassJedi

What? This is absurd. half of the series is about how civilians can use firearms to defend themselves, especially within their home. Also, Rob Pincus, the head of the PDN, is one of the most vehement supporters of the second amendment out there and is very often in Congress lobbying for gun rights. There is no reason for them to put out a video about their position on gun control because anyone with half a brain can see they are against it.

Soldiers need to breech, cops need to KNOCK All this no knock warrant shit has gotten way to many innocent people killed. Idiots go to the wrong house and kill an innocent man that thinks someone is breaking into his home. It is inexcusable.
@PLUR126
@PLUR126 9 лет назад
No-knock are used usually for felony arrest warrants. It has to be approved by a judge first and are mainly approved if the suspect has a known background for violent tendencies... Prior robberies and so on. I've serve in the u.s Military and believe the men and women in blue who participate in these felony arrest warrants deserve the option for no knock mainly because of how inherently dangerous that field of work is.
@tac-z3363
@tac-z3363 9 лет назад
Phan tastic Do you have any idea how many no knock warrants are executed each year? Yeah i am all for it at a known crack house full of cop killing gang members, but you are fooling yourself if you think that they are only using them for known violent offenders.
@PLUR126
@PLUR126 9 лет назад
I will gladly agree with your opinion if you could show me statistical proof for non-violent no-knock warrants used from each department across this great nation by a approved non-bias collector instead of just assumptions.
