You have to hit the auto cancel frames. Think of it as just another aerial move like nair or fair. In match, if Ike fires the side b from about platform height it usually results in the side b auto cancelling, thus drastically reducing lag. Other than that, it's got some lag on it so punish away folks.

It's good here because mac can't pressure Ike when he's charging it. Many characters can either go out there and aerial him or toss projectiles at Ike. It can also be countered. A useful tool but it's not that good.

@@Tibovl If you shoot projectiles at him it needs to be a certain type. Remember Ike is falling and most projectiles that would reach him don't so you kinda of have to read where he's not going to release if you want to reliably catch him with something like Wolf Blaster or Wii Fit Neutral-b.

Only thing he is missing is a good get back and one zone option. Which he deserves neither since he has a cheddar come back mechanic that keeps him always in the game and dangerous

you have to. mac is a momentum-based character and the best way to fight him is to stop him from getting any momentum and KO punch makes it even harder for people to keep him out, because if they mess up once as soon as he gets it, it's over.
