Deviating from the usual workshop essays, this week I'm attempting to remove a nasty in-ground yellow jacket's nest using a slightly unusual method. Don't misunderstand me folks, I detest killing things and avoid it wherever possible; but when it comes to yellow jacket nests, I make an exception. They are dangerous, aggressive, and wouldn't hesitate to sting the heck out of anyone who accidentally steps near their lair. The reason I'm using this method is to make this quick, and hopefully painless for the wasps. I dislike chemicals, you can see them suffering, and drowning is too slow. So in this episode, I'm going with another option that I can execute at a safe distance, should it not have the desired affect and fill the yard with some very hostile and indignant critters - yes I'm blowing up this Yellow Jacket's nest.

DO NOT try this at home people - this is not a how-to video - this is simply posted for entertainment purposes. I'm an experienced pyrotechnician and know how to do this safely. Mishandling explosive materials will inevitably cause injury or death.
