for real... absolutely drives me crazy that max only keeps up the current season and the one previous. they've got every season of pretty much every other show as far as I can tell. wtf. it makes no sense.
You'd be very surprised at what Nintendo deems OK and not OK, like there are entire sites dedicated solely to Pokemon and Mario romhacking and they've more or less left those alone. Not saying id put it past them though.
@@draxthemsklonstThe only reason they haven't been taken down is because they haven't reached Nintendo's awareness yet. They've taken down some of those websites only because they got too famous due to hosting a rom hack so popular it reached mainstream media as 'better than the official games'
The BJP had held power before under Vajpayee, but didn't go as all-out into Hindu nationalism. It wasn't unreasonable to think that Modi might have done something similar after taking office... even if that didn't happen.
10 years late and we're still waiting for Tomadachi Life 2 with queer relationships in it. I hope it happens mostly so I can marry Wally Darling at least in a game.
As a workaround, the list of dates for each episode can be found on Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Last_Week_Tonight_with_John_Oliver_episodes though I agree including it would've been even nicer.
NO. They gave you the season and episode number, which is all you need. It is painfully easy to Google that info, because it is obviously on Wikipedia, which will have the release date of every episode and more. This is not hard to understand, and in 2024, you should definitely be technologically literate enough to know how to google search a season#+episode#
@@akamba12I believe season 1 isnt readily available everywhere or on max. This is a way or marketing and getting people interested. They are also very old episodes.
@@DRH1302 Tbh what Nintendo deems OK and not OK is almost totally random, like there are entire sites dedicated to Pokemon and Mario romhacks and they've mostly left them alone.
@@EnigmaticGentleman HBO paid for the rights. So it’s ok. When you don’t pay for the rights and you’re making money off it, you get sued. It’s pretty simple.
I'm happy all the S1 episodes have been uploaded but especially about this one, since as far as I can tell, this is the only (or one of the only) episodes where the entirety of the main segment was never uploaded to youtube before now. They've had their fake GM commercial up since 2014, but not the context proceeding it, so I've spent the last several years wondering what the context was lol. It's nice to finally get the full picture behind those jokes
And Nintendo was so scared of controversy (the political type everything else is fine) they haven't made another Tomadachi Life since. And mind you it sold 7 million copies, not exactly a financial thing
It was made legal in all 50 states a year later in 2015 by a Supreme Court decision. ...which means we are one new Supreme Court decision away from it being back down to 17...
The "now this" holds up like fine milk. Calling Chronic Fatigue Syndrome day as a bullshit national day is tacky as hell. Shows how important the day is that they didn't even bother to check out the illness that 1% of the population suffers from and still to this day most people don't know anything about. Not to mention has no cure nor even working medicine to alleviate the symptoms with.
i love how john anticipated the crowd would be sad to see bowser bury his apparent lover donkey kong and told the animation team: "whip up a charming first date and a restart sound, trust me on this one"
Two thoughts on the GM banned words. 1. I can't believe he didn't read "genocide". 2. Some of those are very much engineering words, not "judggmental". Like critical and SAFETY... Bonus thought: why are some words capitalized?
So cool these are being uploaded! The full episodes have always been posted to RU-vid by third parties but immediately taken down, I'm grateful they're here
remember how we all acted like the Spanish guy with the debts from 1998 was an idiot for calling attention to himself, and then after a week we had all completely forgotten that it ever even happened?
This counts as parody, which is transformative and you can't be sued over it. HBO has one hell of a legal team, I'm sure they talked about it before poking the metaphorical bear.
It's funny, Nintendo didn't really do a great job following up on that promise much. Tomodatchi Life never got updates or squeals, and most Nintendo first party games with romance since, like Fire Emblem, have little to no representation. And before you cry out about 3 Houses, only the Player character can be in a confirmed gay relationship. The others are strongly suggested, but never said to be officially in a romantic same sex relationship. Also in fairness, a lot of the Fire Emblem relationships have bigger problems than if their same sex.
20:23 Being from Spain, I find funny that one of the articles reads: "Mario Costeja faces Google: I defended freedom of speech by receiving (slur) from "the greys" [nickname of the Spanish riot police during the Francoist dictatorship]"
