Our plan was to travel up the Swartberg Pass and show you its beauty but little did we know that it would be so special in the mist and rain. The gravel roads and the switchbacks up the mountain were mind blowing. We can just imagine what it would look like in the sunshine. This just gives another opportunity to come back to the Swartberg Pass. #dustbugs #travel #southafrica #travelsouthafrica

I did this route with my grandad back in the 80's and he reached a top speed of 140km/h on the pass!

Great views and spectacular shots of the Swartberg Pass! I think I would've been feeling rather queezy at the height. Thanks again for another great tour of our beautiful country.

I can just imagine the views. I'd love to do that pass. I had good reason to do it few years ago as I was in Oudsthoorn for a few months and knew people in Prince Albert, but never did I visit. Those with me were chicken too.

I definitely want to go to drive the Swartberg pass. I went through it when I was only 12 and I remember that it was very scary for me.

When you reach the top od the swartbergpass. You have n glass of sherry. Perfect for that icy cold. That is what we did. Enjoy.

Me and my Beloved drove this pass in a very old Opal Kadett back in 2004. We had good weather, and the old Kadett did well. Still have a video of it. We took it coming the other way. Do you see how many faces are in the rocks?

Just goes to show that the Pass is completely passable, pardon the pun, in a normal sedan vehicle. 🚗 You were lucky to have had good weather, it was super cloudy and rainy when we drove the Pass, but still found the views breathtaking! ⛰️ We hope to one day drive it the other way under clear skies! We can't say we noticed any faces in the rocks, they were intimidating enough as it was though! 🗿

We haven't been back to the Swartberg Pass again, but it's still on my list to return and I hope that this time it will be a sunny and clear day. Until then, we still have so much more of the country to go and explore that it most probably won't be anytime soon. It remains one of my absolute favourite drives and the beauty almost unsurpassed. 😍⛰️ We appreciate you watching our videos and it's great that you enjoy them so much, thank you. 🚗

That is an inaccurate assumption on your part. 😁 We visited Prince Albert on the trip before this one. It is a beautiful town indeed. Check out Episode 11!
