A review and installation of S1 Sequential’s remote mount TR6060 race shifter by none other than the Taco Viking himself, Patrick Laughlin of Conquer Custom.
@@ruiner1098 hey I’m trying to order this same shifter for my ZL1. was yours a gen6? If so, what installation kit did you need to order for it? They don’t offer a Gen 6 install kit. Just want to make sure I order the correct parts.
Definitely less than 3k watch for specials and stuff and you can definitely get down around that 1500 mark. Contact them directly and tell them you watched this and they’ll probably give you my pricing on it.
Interesting. Great video. I’m Aussie I was on their website, RU-vid s1 sequential and you were the first video, again, great video. I have an FG XR6 Turbo Ute lowest tune is 600hp, the manual is standard TR6060 and I’m intrigued how this is going to fit my Ute. I’ll search for the next video of you using it. Still recommend it or? Ok byyyyyeeeee
The rods for the tr6060 can be cut to whatever length you want so they can definitely make it work. As far as a recommendation, it’s definitely cool but I haven’t actually used it yet 😆 Unfortunately the build got shelved last year and we still haven’t dug it back out yet. I’m hoping this spring we’ll have it back in the queue.
@@conquercustom I have like no bandwidth for internet, I'm low budget. What's the chances for a clean install in a 2004 Viper with a TR6060 transmission?
So is the S1, plus your shifter re location, plus the longer shifter level still a quick shift like a short throw shifter would be. Obviously it is since you use is and this may be a stupid question lol. Just thinking about getting an S1 for a T56 when I get it. Thanks
The shift throw is very short. But the S1 is more of insurance policy that you don’t miss shifts. Other than that it’s the novelty of shifting like a sequential trans. I now have a true sequential and obviously that’s a superior piece but the cost isn’t at all comparable.
@@patricklaughlin7483 are the rods adjustable to fit where former shifter was? Because I am pretty sure it’s not the same position as the Gen 5 Camaros. Great Video?
@@Standyourground21 they’ll send long rods for you to cut to length for your specific application. Tr6060’s have the shifter hanging of the back so it’s a tad more difficult than an old t56 or something.
No, it doesn’t turn the transmission into a sequential gear system. You still have to push in the clutch. If you want paddles you want a true sequential transmission.
Hey quick question. As of right now I have to run a 8" relocation shifter for my tr6060 to fit properly without having to cut. Would this sit about the same as that would? Thanks in advance.
@@conquercustom pls... I have another buddy with car similar to mine and I can't wait till he's finished... My thoughts with this cheater sequential are mixed. I think it has to be put in PERFECTLY to a healthy stout trans like my T-56 magnum...
@@conquercustom pretty much in the first 3mins bro. The S1 kit only changes the shift pattern from H Pattern to Sequential Pattern. You still can't "Grip it and Rip it." That is a quick way to destroy the synchro rings on your gears. You still need to clutch. Unless you have dog engagement gear sets in your TR6060 then you can do no lift and/or clutchless shifts all day. The TR6060 came from factory with synchro engagement gears. UNLESS you already have dog engagement gears in your TR6060 and mentioned it in a previous video then forgive me this is the only vid on your channel I have seen. Great video though
@@ggepp oh yea definitely still have to use the clutch with this. But you’ll never miss shift with. I was saying a sequential trans doesn’t require a clutch but I forgot to say that this shifter doesn’t eliminate it for a regular trans.
@@conquercustom can you imagine money shifting the box and grenading a $20K motor?? Definitely a wise move going sequential as insurance. Get dog engagement gears bro!! PPG in Australia make a drop in set! Clutchless up and down shifts!!
