Star link is 100% worth it and absolutely works on cloudy days. Just the speed drops a little bit but still better than all the other Internet options, you just have to have a clear path to the sky with the dish and it is quite expensive per month, compare to other options
Thank you for your comment. The clouds thing was really the last thing holding us back. So thank you for letting us know you haven’t had any issues. A little slower speed wouldn’t be a problem for us, we were just worried it might have fully lost connection. Yes we realise it’s a bit more expensive per month however having no internet when you have work too do also gets expensive. Thanks heaps for watching!!!! 👌
Hahah yes 💯. There were so many other places we also have 3m stickies that we didn’t include in that video! Thank you for the video love and for watching 🙌
We have Starlink travelling Australia & it’s fantastic as long as you have no obstructions to the south where Starlink faces. It certainly does work on overcast & rainy days! Best thing we ever did was to get it!
Hey guys, that’s awesome to hear. We have put in our order and are waiting to pick it up. Thanks so much for watching our vid and taking the time to comment 👍
Love the unshaven bearded look, Careful of the little Anti flap holder's, first time i used them, a big wind came through bent the top bar you had it attached to,
Hahah no that has to go!!!! 🤣 ah ok thanks for the heads up, we will made sure we keep an eye on that if it gets too windy… but to be fair we are pretty chicken with our awning and put it away fairly quickly when the wind picks up. Thanks for the comment and for watching 🙌
Hey Kimberley. Glad you enjoyed it. I know when we started we had no idea what was really needed… turns out most of the things are more ‘l wants’ than ‘I needs’ so if your like us and working to a budget you really don’t need too much to get by! Thanks for watching ❤️
Ok, perfect, thanks for letting us know about the tree issue. We might need to keep our old one in addition to starlink then so we are covered when bush camping as well.... all things to consider.... Thanks for your feedback and for watching 🙌
Great walkthrough guys, it's a must to have a clean, comfortable rig for long term travel, looks impressive, hope you get up to Queensland, you'll love it !!!
Thanks Andy, yes it took a few months of travelling to really understand what we needed to make life easier on the read. Our set up is pretty simple compared to others we have seen, but there really isn’t too much more we need. The want list might be a bit longer though hahah!!!! Yes we are heading to QLD and will def be there this year at some point which we are both really looking forward to. Thanks for the comment and for watching 🙌🙌🙌
Great video guys as usual very entertaining interesting to see the mods to fix the annoying problems it must have crossed over midnight as the ram changed back to a Ford till next time all the best Ron
Thanks Ron. Haha yes the clock struck midnight and the car turned back into the pumpkin hahah!!! To be fair the Everest has been good to us so far so we can't be too mean to her!!! 😁 Thank you for sending us a message and of course for watching 🙌
Thank you 🙌 We haven't done that muck, but the few things we have done have def helped over the last year. Thanks for the message as always and for watching ❤️
Im thinking about Starlink myself but at this stage im only a weekend warrier as far as van life is concerned. i could certainly use it at home as well as on my travels away but its quite a big monthly expense
Yes the monthly costs is a little pricey but it is unlimited usage which makes it a bit better. We are ok with that part, just don’t to buy another gadget only to find it’s over hyped and not actually that good… we have fallen in that trap many times. Thanks for the comment and for watching
yes, now that we have it we agree, the only time it has not worked for us is when we are in bush land and can't get a clear view of the sky, which makes perfect sense .Thanks for watching 🙌
Wait for starling mini , aerial the size of a iPad possibly with its own battery pack for portability its about 12 months away big reduction in price. Unzip the topper and cut the foam corners to round all good then .
Thanks Stephen, I did watch a video of the new Starlink dish, it’s a little far away for us unfortunately, but it sounds pretty good. I’m sure the technology will continue to advance so it will be pretty cool to see what comes about. We have thought about cutting the corners off the mattress topper but it’s really a non issue so we have just left it for now. Thanks heaps for watching, and taking the time to comment 👍
To be fair we would happily have the F-truck as well hahah 😝 new Everest’s look amazing! Chris had his eye on the Sports model… not that he’s getting that one either hahaha 😝 Thanks for the message and for watching 🙌
Hi Barry, thanks for watching along, and awesome to hear you are enjoying the vids. The obd2 scanner was simply called obd2 Australia, the scanner came with the instructions as to which app to download to hook everything up :) Hope that helps.
It looked amazing didn't it!!!! Such a shame Photoshopped images can't be willed into actual existence 🤣. Chris is from Northland and I'm from Southland, so basically complete opposed ends of the country hahah. Funny when people ask us about it, cause we both forget we even sound different. 😱😀. Thanks for the comment and for watching along!
Hey guys, just came across your channel from a recommendation from one of my customers great content. I have to ask, I can hear the accent with the slurring of the R’s. I have friends from Dunedin and Milton, is that where you guys are from? How are you handling the heat? Wow 😮😊
Hey Matt, glad to hear you’re enjoying our content. If you happen to watch our lithium install, don’t look to closely at our wiring 🤣🤣 I watch your channel and your installs are top notch 🤙 Tania is from south of Dunedin, a place called Invercargille, so yes you are correct hearing her roll her R’s 🤣 Chris is from near the top of the North Island near a place called Whangarei. We’ve been in WA since 2011, absolutely love the heat after 30 odd years in the cold haha 🤣 Thanks for the message and checking out our content 🤙
Hey Brett, thanks for taking the time to send us a message! Happy to hear you're enjoying our videos, would love to know what the 'usually bulls**t entails so we can try to stay away from it haha🤪👌
Hi guys. Just love your videos 📹. The nice lay back approach. Just interested in the OBD2 Bluetooth Transmitter. What brand is it? Does it give Fuel ⛽️ usage readings and also exhaust gas and coolant temperature readings?
Thanks Gary, love hearing you enjoy our videos 🙌😁. The brand was simply OBD2 Australia and yes it provides fuel usage, exhaust gas, coolant temp etc via the app! Hope that helps and thanks for watching !!!!! 👍
WE KNOW 😱🥹🥲 - It was a sad, sad day..... but onward and upwards, just made no sense having them there while we continue to travel around. Thanks for watching!!!!
Hahah love how polar opposite your comment is from Claire’s, although I’m sure her’s is sprinkled with sarcasm 😜😝. Chris wants to know if we had you for a split second with the ram?
