I have seen the sandwich plate torque from 40 ft-lbs (mishimoto) to 54 ft-lbs( Blox) when I first put one on I doubled the 16 ft-lb filter and it loosened in a few years. Because of the gasket retighten every few years.
Good video, this is one of my next mods (I live in the south). I was going to do the Mishimoto cooler but the Sake Bomb cooler is much better (after seeing it in person) and much better configuration options. I also agree with you on the nylon braiding, much better abrasion resistance and great job using the edge trim, I wouldn't have thought of that until now.
Nice s2000 man! I got a silver 02 that I've been wanting to install an oil temp and oil pressure sensor/sensors on. I saw you used the stock location for the line to your sensor, now that you have an oil cooler with a sandwich plate would you rather have put the sensors in the plate instead? Not sure which I wanna do because I've heard mixed things about them and not sure if I want an oil cooler yet...
Nah, I would still choose the oem switch port to run the line for the pressure sensor, however if you are looking to do temp too, it would probably be more accurate to put the temp sensor in the sandwich plate where it’s seeing flow
Hey NAUS, installed this same oil cooler a while back and I've found that it almost works too well at times. Today it was 75 degrees and raining and at one point temps went down from 160 to 139. have you experienced this at all? FYI I have the 200 degree thermostat
I do not have an oil temp gauge so I’m not sure. I do know that the thermostat is fully open at 200deg and is always partially open at lower temps. I do drive around quite a bit on the street so I am curious if it is too cold as well
