S23 Ultra Battery Life Extender! Light Mode Explained (How To) 

Thought you might like to know performance profile is an option in the quick menu. Off is standard on is light mode

This feature indeed boosted my battery life from 1 and a half day to 2 and a half days. I used this few days ago and it's wonderful. Thank you so much

I have been running my Z Fold 4 in light mode almost since beginning. I found out that it definitely saves battery while slowing down the main core only by 10%. Geekbench reults are in standard mode 1300/3816 and in light mode 1174/3797. Even when running DeX, I can't observe any slowdown.

Hey, thanks for pointing it out. I saw that listed with a couple other reviewer that are looking at the regular S 23 check for such a small battery so it’s probably a much better future for that phone but it’s great that you can use it on the ultra

You can add the performance profile button to the quick panel for easy access to turn light performance on and off

Put performance profile in the quick button menu then press and hold it it goes to the menu with standard and light processing.

Another thing I've noticed is adaptive refresh seems to work a lot better with wqhd on. A huge difference, on fhd adaptive doesn't feel on

This is probably a better version of enhanced processing, which is what I have on the s21 FE, also can be found in the quick toggles from the pulldown menu. Maybe One UI 5.1 changed the name.

Please make a 5g internet speed & network connection comparison video of S23 ultra with other phones ( iPhone 14 pro max, S22 ultra, one plus 11, Pixel 7 pro).

I think you can couple this feature with Samsung modes/routines to (DE)activate it with certain apps.

Latest update on s22 has similar modes. Just different names. Under processing speed. Optimized, High, and Max

In power saving mode you can limit cpu processing power by 30%

Heyyyy God bless you, everyone. I have a question for Mr. Tech Odyssey. Why is it that on the s22 ultra, in the battery section, we had options for fast charging and super fast charging? Now on the s23 ultra, the super-fast charging was taken out those anyone knows why?

You don't have to go through all that step in setting .You have toggle in notification settings. One tap away.

I freaking love this battery life. I unplugged my phone at 8 AM. This morning. And right now it is currently 12:37 AM. And my battery is at 52%. This is unbelievable.

I turned out on as soon as I unboxed my phone and I have noticed no pickups or slow down everything stays the same except for mortar battery life.

My S22 Ultra has One UI 5.1, but it doesn't have the Performance Profile. From the look of it, what's in that spot is still Processing Speed, with Optimized, High, & Maximum. 😞😞😞

weird, they have named that function under "light" and "standard" instead of "optimized, high and max".. i wonder if they found an alternative to use Power save mode, which slows down the processor at 70% and now they have named it like this 🤷🏻‍♂️ which is a good idea because Power Save Mode includes putting it on 60 Hz all the time, optionally turning off Always On Display, turn brightness down 10%, 5G off, etc... I hope they include this function on One UI 5.1 because my S21 FE overheats from time to time and Power Save Mode is the only way to keep going... I hope isn't an exclusive S23 series thing....

I just had my switch her performance profile in her z flip4 to light. I'm gonna check back with her in a few days and see if she's noticed a difference in battery life. just got my cream colored ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) s23u from fi yesterday and I'm gonna give it a week on the light mode and see how much I can squeeze out of it in between charges.

I have the S23 ultra and somehow when I use light performance mode it seems to negatively impact the battery life 🤔

I have turned this on and battery life feels no different, what I find interesting with this phone is it seems set to deliver a specific amount of screen on time regardless of settings, only decreasing the screen on time if you use the camera or turn screen brightness higher. That's what I'm experiencing anyway, for instance going from fhd to qhd has not affected my battery at all, it's a strange one for me. No matter what I adjust I seem set to get 9 hour sot unless I use the camera a lot or turn screen up higher than usual 🤔

i just ran Geekbench6 testing this on the S23u normal mode - single core 1992, multi core 5169 lite mode - single core 1843, multi core 5186 So very little difference in performance but a good change in battery life WIN WIN

The S22U has standard and 2 more high Preformance options, there is no light option :)

I've had my 23 ultra for 2 days now and I'm getting 8 hours of screen on time with this baby without battery savings tricks. Night and day compared to my fold 3. I was charging that phone 2 or 3 times a day. Crazy.

You will notice some lags here and there with this mode. More noticeable when turning on the phone .

I don't know I must have got a bad one because my s23 battery life is awful. I listen to audiobooks all day long so I know that has something to do with it. I check my email occasionally. Pop on to social media for a minute or two throughout the day. But my battery seems to be dropping like a rock. I have the screen set to "always dim". I have most of my aids in deep sleep. I don't know what else to. My battery just dropped 2% just watching video.

I think you giving wrong information about light mood its not squeezes battery standard mood is fast and squeeze battery.

I just moved from the xiomi 11t pro to the Samsung s23 Ultra and I can tell you for nothing but the battery life on this phone is absolutely garbage whatever settings are used. I love my Samsung phone but the fact that only lasts about three quarters of a day and the fact that it takes a whole hour and 20 minutes longer to charge than my previous phone which was like £300 I'm just totally confused by that. It blows my mind that Samsung who make the leading phones the best flagship phones in the world can't even make a phone that charges in 12 minutes all makes of battery last at least a couple of days.

Been there already, just like to share,... 5 days of battery on 1 Full charge , for Emergency use , using limited talk text . with an external battery pack giving 2 full charges, s23 can last 15 days , for emergency use .

I make it from 5:30 am to 9-10pm easy but I need to charge overnight I use standard mode everything on auto with 120hz & qhd resolution

I got the new Galaxy S23 plus! And it sucks! Google does not work well on this phone. It has hijacked my messages. Nobody can fix it stay away from this phone. They rushed it out. Oh and it is huge and ugly. Android did better job than Google This is a bad phone and will be the things to come now. Keep looking

Imagine if phone manufacturers cared about economy, e-waste, and the users. If they wanted they could make batteries that lasts for a week. But untill the EU enforce it upon them like the usb-c, they will produce more short lived phones and e-waste....
