My S23 Ultra would last me the day, but I noticed it would drain quicker. After I tried applying the same settings as you, I got over 10-11 hours of screen time and over a day of screen off time. Thank you so much
@@canerkaya2108 At the moment 6.0. The battery has only gotten better with the relative updates. It lasts me 2 days with medium usage. With heavy usage I still have about 10-15% at the end of the day
I set up the Modes and Routines 4x1 widget quick toggles. One of the toggles I have set will activate 60Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution if I'm just out and about using my phone as an actual phone in order to squeeze out even more battery life.
In general I guess they do. If I'm just texting, making calls, emails, and just scrolling webpages when I'm on the go I feel the lower screen settings outweigh the widget battery use. If I'm home and want to enjoy what the S23 ultra can do I'll max out the screen settings. It's only been a few days so I'm still testing it out.
I have similar settings on my S23 Ultra, saturday I was testing it playing some simple and more challenging games, being on WiFi, and I get 9 SOT with 20% battery left. During the week I'm charging my phone to 85% once a day, being on LTE and mostly having two divaces connected via Bluetooth. This smartphone is amazing.
Very cool. My settings are very similar to yours. Unfortunately my SOT is averaging between 5 to 6 hours. Still way better than the 3 hours I was getting on my old Note10+ from 2019, but certainly not as impressive as the 9 hours many are reporting.
@@Diego-mg5nv it did not. It hits 5 hours most days. 6 is on rare days. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that my storage is half full? I honestly don't know. No apps seem to be using a crazy amount of battery, I constantly monitor it.
@@wackyxx3388still just power savung mode makes big difference in s22u..i gave both s23u and s22u..i can say just 1-2 of difference..s23u is just a rumour i guess. S22u looks more awesome i guess if i compare the curved beautiful display
It depends on the settings, 120hz or 60hz, weak or strong network reception area, 5G or 4G, single sim or dual sim, apps in sleeping mode or deep sleeping mode, climate temperature warm or cool, etc.
another tip i use is to set up a routine that if you arrive at home you set up that it switch off 5G/LTE 4g 3g and only use 2g so it produce less SAR value, also turn off gps cuz you dont really need gps in your house, atomatic switch on wifi/ nfc off and also bluetooth off. also a good one is bed mode: switch all connections eg wifi gps etc off, put power saving on, extra dim display.
After the April update, my battery drains quickly.. I usually got 9 and to 10 hours SOT but now got 5 to 6 hours the max.Anyone has the same problem as me. It frustrating because it was so good until this update
Great video. I'm not sure about the protect battery option. I have my S23 set up to charge to 96% as it's the heat of trickle charging the kills the battery. I still have a working note 8 that will last a day and a half before it needs a charge. To automatically turn off the charger at any percentage, use the new Routines. Make one that turns on protect battery at 96% or whatever you want.
Lol you have a galaxy Note 8 which lasts 1 and half day. Battery life was the biggest drawback of Note8.. unless you turn off some good stuff it wouldn't even last a say
@@mh7711 I used bixby routines to Monitor the charge so when it reaches 98% in turns on the protect feature and cut off the charge. Simple. You can set it to any number you want.
Thanks haha. Yes all my notifications come right away. Only Power Saving Mode would have things paused, slowed down or stopped til app is opened. Currently all my texts, messages, chats, app notifications and emails come right as needed or expected.
@@jimmyispromo great. I turned on Light mode soon after watching your video and I got my email notifications just like in Standard mode. I only play one game (Words With Friends 2) for like 30 minutes a day, so I don't need the full CPU power.
Nice video. I Ggt s23 ultra. Was only getting less than 24 hr battery life w less than 5 hrs screen on time. Went through a bunch of steps and customer care. Returned phone for new one. Day 3 w new one and it is a little better. 5 hours SOT with about 24 hours total battery. I have tried light mode and dont see much difference. Would consider myself a moderate to light user. And with all these videos of people showing 2 day battery life and 10 hr SOT. Did I get 2 defective devices? Whats going on? Anyone ideas? Hmmm. Everything else is stellar, but me want better battery. :)
Mine too I'm a moderate user but i can only get 6 or 7 hours of sot ...i returned it to the Samsung center and they said they changed the battery but now it's even worse 😢...i don't understand how people are getting these crazy screen on time 😭...
@@Deftaly when you use the 45 watt charger when it's almost halfway it starts to get really hot 18 watt charger just because it's better for the battery Chargers your best bet if you want to keep your battery health
I have a routine set up to turn on NFC whenever I open up Samsung Wallet or Google Pay and then turn it back off when I close them. I don't know how it affects battery; I just think it's cool. That is all. 👋🏽🙂
It's pretty crazy what you can do with routines. If you told me in high school that I'd be using If Then statements from the basic computer programming class on a handheld computer in the 2020s I would have said you're crazy lol.
@naz it's easy. Go to Settings / Modes and Routines / Routines. Click on the + to create a new routine. Then for the"If" command select App Opened. Then select the Google Wallet and Samsung Wallet apps. And for the "Then" command select Connections / NFC / On. Then for " When Routine Ends" select "Reverse Action"
@@Johnny0nDaSpot I did everything and it isn't working, do I need to have NFC on already like the actual toggle itself? When I open the app it stays off because I have it off and it doesn't even turn on - EDIT I just added Walmart and it works for Walmart and not Google pay
I turn off edge panels, the proof it constantly uses battery is the fact full power saving mode turns it off along with the reduced CPU and dark mode, edge panels are annoying anyways and ugly bar doesnt help
@@Lili-mq5ef that's pretty normal dude chill these 9+ hrs are only applicable for youtubers who dont power use a phone since they own shit loads and barely use the phone
Every test always talks about using devices on wifi. I'm not in a third world country, I use mobile data 24/7. How does this affect SoT? I get 6 hours SoT on OneUI 6.1, pretty much the same settings, but I'm not on adaptive screen brightness (probably eating quite a bit because of that).
I still do not get more then like 5 hours screen on time. my apps use more battery then yours while using them less for example: i used instagram 1 hour and i lost 6,8 percent while on your phone it says that you used instagram for 1 hour 26 minutes while only losing 5.5 percent. is there any other way i can fix that?
Talking around about menu 5 minutes start from 2:22 and the battery drop 1 % , do the math... definitely absurd if you say battery life can last a day .. my s23 ultra is 8 hour max ... and my country don't have return policy ... sucksssss
I already had my settings exactly as he recommended to change and I'm averaging 6-6.4 hours SOT. I've only broken 7 hours once. Can't figure out why most everyone claims this to be great.
Lol I know right. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. My average is 5-5.5. 6 on rare days. I don't think I've even seen 6+. All settings very similar to the videos.
These ppls gettin 9+ hrs aren't really power users i guess we are i use it for constant ig, tele for promos and use camera about 30mins min and also i travel in hot sunny day with location on and 5g and for me its giving like 6.30-8hrs for long day but if i push it for continuous use without idle at home it's giving me solid 8.30+ hrs but hey i can't be more happier than this since even my rog phone with 6000mah battery i got more or less same or less sot so I'm glad samsung is darn good Also I noticed watchin youtube or reels barely take a hit on battery, and all tells about instagram giving more juice but it's only for scrolling and watching reels if u post, edit a lot it sucks more juice
@@aatishvarma9428i think indian units are different.. just bought 23u 2 days back.. am hardly gettin' 8 hrs of SOT but everyone on utube claims having 10hrs+ SOT on max settings.. i don't what's wrong wid indian units...
Oh sorry, it's off. No need to have it on if you're not looking at a phone. I have lift to wake on though, so once i lift and look at the phone, display turns on and gives me my details. Plus if i need to look at screen, I double tap
Does anyone face a bug in the edge panels where sometimes it opens the apps and Sometimes it doesn't open till you close it and reopen the the edge panels again?
Depends what you do with the screen really. Changes for everyone. Gaming, movies, videos, regular site or app scrolling changes those figures with WQHD+ vs FHD+. I'm usually always in WQHD+
Who needs a fruit company phone when you have a Samsung? Crank up that display. Does Bixby Routines have an option for light vs Standard mode for the performance profile? if so, one could just set apps to use the standard mode when the need arises.
I will say do not leave your phone on dark mode or light mode all the time because I did it on my note 20 and got screen burn. I have mine set to change with sunset to sunrise and it hasn't happened again since. I'm currently at about 8 hours screen on time, with gaming RU-vid and social media but I use 60hz to save battery.
That's great. Also Good idea and concept as well. That may help screen burn, but personally I just haven't dealt with screen burn yet to have to try that. I just can't stand light mode. So hard to use vs dark.
@@jimmyispromo I had only dealt with keyboard burn before but I thought keeping the phone in dark mode for 365 days was a way to fix that and a good idea because it was nice to look at and save battery until I could see the clock, notifications and everything that's normal white in dark mode all the time. I also have my light mode auto pic colors off of my wallpaper so it's probably slightly more tame than default.
I get 2 hours and do not even come close to using my apps as long as you do.. It's getting ridiculous and I've watched every video available on how to extend.....
Mine too 5h SoT, 2 days ago i do factory reset, not installing any software update and clean install my apps. Singnificantly better, getting 10h SoT with light to moderate usage
Hey i buy new samsung galaxy s23 ultra 28th but 1st 2-3 day battery life is awsome 1 day easy going but i don't no what happened after this 2-3 days may phone's battery going half of day and my sot is only 3-4h only can u help me plz...?
I charge my device to 85%. I usually do 1+ hrs of continuous video call everyday. Is it normal to drop the battery little bit more during video calls. My 85% dropped to 70% with 1 hr video call.
I take my phone off charge at 5:40 am & send a few texts & 1 or 2 calls & light social media & very light use for maps some days but I can make it during a day easily but by say 9-10 pm it's on 30 or so percent can never get "2days" of use so i guess people use their phone not Alot at all I have things on auto & wqhd+ with 120hz on I use standard not light
How to reset adaptations on s23 ultra? I used smartswitch and some say it screws battery up...during night phone looses close to 10% battery but in normal use it looks fine, but i need to charge daily, how to fully reset battery without reseting the phone?
Oh well. Such is life. It's a $20 battery and if will last a good few years. If you still have the phone after 3 or 4 years just get the battery replaced.
@@jimmyispromo , that is not the point. The point being emphasized here is, with even much more power hungry apps such as tiktok, the Asus ROG 6 can go 1 hour longer than the S23 ultra. Also, do note, ROG 6 runs on a 165 Hz display.
This is literally bull shiiiii! You use the most high settings and still get 9 sot? 😳🤦🏻♂️ What if you use the medium settings for display, screen time etc? You will get 15 sot? With my settings to half of your, i barely get 6 hours
@@aatishvarma9428 bro..try factory resetting your device and not use Samsung switch app for transfer of data...trust me..I just did mine and the drain is soo soo less compared to before the reset. Do try this if u used Samsung switch for transferring your data from old device
Normally I take it from 100% to 80% maybe I forgot to do it this time. I compare it to the sound of my video and ad that plays before, seems close. But I'll keep it in mind more
@@jimmyispromo Thanks, appreciate it. One more thing, how do u have mobile data and hotspot shortcuts on the pull down menu? I can't find it anywhere on my S22 Ultra which I bought unlocked and directly from Samsung Canada. Thanks again for the excellent content.
