Correcting *each other*.

Thank you for a great episode. It’s the first time I happened to run across your page and I really enjoyed it. I would respectfully state that you seem to be coming from a more idyllic perspective, and that’s fine, but there are times when a simple kindly, verbal correction doesn’t do the trick. In those instances a more direct rebuke or chastening is in order and, I believe, very biblical. For example, using your scenario, you gently correct your wife for gossip and tell her that she is not to talk to a certain person about a particular subject. If she submits and obeys, that is fine. But if she doesn’t, there is a place for more direct discipline. We know that the father rebuked and chasten his bride, Israel, and we know that Christ rebukes and chastens his wife, the church. So, with a well-adjusted, mature wife, it should be extremely rare, it still may be necessary at times. On another note, we are in North Carolina, and desperately trying to find a decent church. We are looking for one that preaches grace and judgment, not just one or the other. And not man centered nonsense as is so typical today, and with a strong emphasis on biblical gender roles and the proper order in the church and marriage. Any recommendations?
